  1. Me and Bobby McGee "And now the end is here, and so I face that final curtain." George
  2. It was his batting stance. A little bit about his career: he didn't play continuously over the five decades. His (post-Negro-League) career ran from the late 1940s to the mid 1960s. As more of a publicity stunt than anything else, the owner of the team he played the most for signed him on for a few games in the 1970s and again in 1980. He was passed up for the Hall of Fame, although he led the American League in stolen bases and triples three times, won three Gold Glove awards, and was a seven-time All-Star. He had a .298 career batting average. George
  3. That's the one. DC Comics had a mini-series out at the time the toys hit the market. The TV series came shortly afterward. Alan Oppenheimer voiced Man-At-Arms, Cringer, Skeletor, Battle Cat, Mer-Man, Melaktha, Buzz-Off, Chimera, Negator, Shaman, The Storyteller, Agar, Ananda, Angast, Angus Og, Azrog, Baron Grod, Batty, Bear Man, Beta, Bird-Men, Boomerang salesman, Brindle, Captain Falk, Cat Spy, Chancelor, Chief Merlo, Danavas, Darkdream, Dr. Sheveen, Draca, Dragoon, Drude, Galen, Game Master, Gatekeeper, Gorgon, Grandfather, Hannibal, Helmsman, Hexon, Hisser, Ice Lord, Jarvan, King Tamusk, Kor, Kraal, Lokus, Masque, Mitro, Moar, Monteeg, Morgoth, Morningstar, Nepthu, Old man, Poole, Professor Orion, Rabar, Roboto, Salesman, Skeletoids, Skeletor's double, Slavemaster, Sleeping Tree, Smudge, Squire Wilkins, Tauron, Toc, Torm, Vokan, Willen, Yukkers, Zanthor. George
  4. Ford was a pitcher, so he didn't bat that often and is not known for getting beaned much. Also, his career was only 16 years, spanning 2 decades. His career did overlap the career of the mystery player. Note: I just found out that Nick Altrock also played in 5 decades (the only other person to do so), but his career spanned the turn of the 20th century. The player I'm looking for played most of his career during our lifetimes. George
  5. No. FYI, Mel Blanc is NOT the voice actor. This was the first cartoon in the United States to go straight to syndication and air on weekday afternoons, instead of Saturday mornings. One of the voice actors voiced several characters. The writers often had his characters conversing with each other, just to watch him bounce from voice to voice. The characters were toys before they were cartoon characters. George
  6. You Give Love a Bad Name "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates" George
  7. She's 41 and her daddy still calls her "baby" All the folks 'round Brownsville say she's crazy 'Cause she walks down town with a suitcase in her hand Looking for a mysterious dark-haired man George
  8. Satchel Paige was the oldest player in MLB history, playing his last game at the age of 59 years, 80 days. Which player had the longest career, playing games in five different decades? (This player was also known for regularly getting hit by pitches.) George
  9. "Little Honda" by the Beach Boys? George
  10. The House with a Clock in Its Walls Jack Black Nacho Libre George

  12. Those all actually seem rather familiar, but I could use a few more names. George
  13. Stripes "Greed, for lack of a better word, is good." George
  14. Nigel also seems to be headed off northeast: George

  16. Well, both shows were pretty successful, so there were no wrong choices. New one soon. George
  17. Son of a gun. I was so happy that I saw the died-before-his-birthday bit that I forgot how to subtract. George
  18. Actually, that would be rock star, not movie star. Never mind... George
