In other words, behave as if it's any other wedding. Go if you want to, bring a gift if you want to, speak to whomever you want to. I haven't been Catholic for decades, but I still go to Catholic weddings, baptisms, funerals, etc., if the people involved are important to me. Heck, I even still stand, sit, and kneel as appropriate, though I don't verbalize creeds I no longer adhere to. Go and have fun! George

I am humbled... Okay, I'm over it. "Don't let him doctor you. I'm the doctor around here." "And known as the worst patient in the entire crew of the Enterprise." "You're a very agile man, Mister Atoz! Just how many of you are there?" George -
I don't know about giving it away, but it does seem familiar. George

While I admit that this is rather clever, I have a couple of problems with it. First, biodiesel is presently an over-hyped fuel which is not remotely cost-effective without huge government subsidies. Second, it seems a bit too much of an "in" joke. Even "Greasespot" at this point could be considered an "in" joke, as very few current TWI or TWI prospects will have even heard the phrase "greasespot by midnight," much less understand how it relates to ex-TWI folk. If the purpose of the new site will just be for us old 'spotters to hang out, "Biodiesel Diner" is probably okay. But if it's to snatch people from TWI's clutches, I think the name should have a more obvious connection. George

Farpoint Station only appeared in the first and last episodes of NG (counting each two-parter as a single episode). I'll guess it's the last. "All Good Things"? George -
You've never seen it? Dude, it's like "Princess Bride," a cult classic. I think TBS will be running it around the clock on Christmas, so catch it! George

Although Rosie seems to have a firm grip on TWI right now, there's no telling how long it will last. Hopefully the new site will outlast her. George

When "I" was breaking up with The Way...
GeorgeStGeorge replied to Dot Matrix's topic in About The Way
It seems appropriate here to post a song about "the breakup." TWI kicked me out, and then came back later to try to get me back. I've never figured out how to embed a video here, but I can handle a link: God bless you all. George -

Could it be the one where Geordi meets the woman of his dreams (a warp scientist involved in designing the Enterprise's engines), only to have her see his holographic version of her (from a previous episode)? It has to be NG, since the OS Enterprise was Constellation Class. George -

I think you're right, though we'll have to wait for WW to chime in. I believe the episode was titled "Family." George -

Good enough! "What You Leave Behind," the last episode of DS9. And almost fitting for us here at GSC... :( But, as Paw quoted, "We're not dead, yet!" So, game on Mr. Wolf! George P.S. It was, of course, Worf who inisted that the O'Briens live in Minsk! -
This one will probably be easy. "'Fraa - geel- eee'! Huh! Must be Italian!" "Deck the harrs with bows of horry, Fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra! 'Tis the season to be jarry, Fa ra ra ra ra ra ra ra ra!" "Well I double-DOG-dare ya!" "NOW it was serious. A double-dog-dare. What else was there but a triple-dare-you, and finally, the coup de grace of all dares, the sinister triple-dog-dare." "I TRIPLE-dog-dare ya!" "Schwartz created a slight breach of etiquette by skipping the triple-dare-you and going right for the throat!" George

Not to mention the fun Ron G had when someone hacked his account, locked him out of it, and then sent scam notices to all his "friends" that he was mugged in London and needed money to get back home. (Something similar happened to my ex-wife with her Gmail account.) The hassle to undo all that nonsense was significant. I use LinkedIn because it's a more professional networking site, though, I imagine, it could be hacked, as well. George

Please understand. I'm not trying to convince Paw to keep managing GS against his will. Quite the opposite. But if he wants to keep this going, and the only thing stopping him is the money, then all he has to do is say so. I've contributed in the past, and I'd be happy to do so again; and I'm sure I'm not alone. If TrustAndObey or someone else wants to take over GS or a similar site, I have no problem helping with that, either. It just isn't clear to me whether Paw WANTS to do this or not. George
-
Paw, just give us a straight answer: if the finacial part is taken care of, do you still WANT to keep running Greasespot? If no, the financial stuff is moot, If yes, it's easily enough taken care of. If you feel it takes too much of a personal toll, that's okay; but I guarantee that the members will handle the money. George

Interestingly, WordWolf's clue gave it away. "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"? George

"The Dominion has spent the last two years trying to destroy the Federation, and now you're asking me to put our fate in their hands?" "All during the years of my exile, I imagined what it would be like to come home. I even thought of living in this house again, with Mila. But now she's dead, and this house is about to be reduced to a pile of rubble. My Cardassia is gone." "Then fight for a new Cardassia!" "I have an even better reason, Commander: Revenge." "That works too." "You're sure you're not angry?" "Why should I be angry? I have been asking you to tell the Doctor how you feel about him for the past month." "Well - now that he knows how I feel...?" "I am happy for you." "That's a relief." "But... I am going to kill him." "You're kidding, right?" "And Jadzia said I did not have a sense of humor." "I want the Cardassians exterminated." "Which ones?" "All of them. The entire population." "That will take some time." "Then I suggest that you begin at once." 1: Any idea where you're gonna live?" 2: "No, Keiko and I're still mulling over a few possibilities." 3: "Have you ever considered Minsk?" 2: "I don't think that's on our list." 4: "New Orleans is a gorgeous city." 5: "I've heard great things about Paris." 3: "Minsk." 6: "Jadzia loved Rio." 7: "Well, you've certainly got a lot of choices." 2: "Yeah, too many, hm?" 3: "Minsk." "You two, get out there and see that no one gets through that door!" "You stay here - in case they fail." 1: "Reports of my death have been exaggerated, but not by much. Ooh..." 2: "Isn't there something she can take to make her feel better?" 3: "She doesn't like taking medication, unless it's absolutely necessary." 1: "Ooohh...!" 2: "Sounds necessary to me." "Earth's nothing more than a rotating ball of boredom." "You may win this war, Commander, but I promise you, when it is over, you will have lost so many ships, so many lives, that your "victory" will taste as bitter as defeat." "Four hundred years ago, a victorious general spoke the following words at the end of another costly war: 'Today the guns are silent. A great tragedy has ended... we have known the bitterness of defeat and the exultation of triumph, and from both we have learned there can be no going back. We must move forward to preserve in peace what we've won in war'." George -
