Reminds me of the Bill Cosby routine (I believe it's in his video "Himself") where he comes home to find his wife screaming, "Bill!!! I want you to kill your son!!!" At which point his reaction was, "Thank God it's not ME she's mad at." Walk away like Renfield: "Yes, Master. Kill the son. He-hee, he-hee, he-heeee." George

Rocky 4 is correct. Rocky is talking about Drago. It was Paulie and Duke in his corner. You're up, WordWolf. George

I've heard of it, just haven't seen it. Sounds too chick-flicky. But, after four days, I don't mind googling. Daniel Day Lewis The Last of the Mohicans Madeleine Stowe George

I know a lot about musicals: Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music...even the one that started this thread, The Wizard of Oz. I've actually seen Brigadoon, but it's not one of my favorites. What can I say? This is a tough thread to give clues for. George

To quote myself, from the first post in this thread (with added emphasis): The idea here is that a line from a film is so memorable that it immediately identifies the film. (In lieu of a single line, a short exchange between characters is acceptable.) The movie itself, of course, should be fairly well-known. For example, if I give the line: "Be good, be gone, or be dead." anyone who has seen "Traxx" would immediately recognize it. Unfortunately, very few people have seen "Traxx," so it wouldn't be a fair clue for this game. The burden here is on the clue-giver. You are not trying to be tricky, but to be as obvious as possible. I suspect that more people have seen "Traxx" than "The Wizard of Speed and Time." I realize that you can only use "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" so many times. Not everyone will know any given movie. But, really, "The Wizard of Speed and Time"? I suspect that the news clue isn't much better, although there are a couple of funny Christmas movies it could be. I'll try "Elf". George

songs remembered from just one line

From bulwinkl's first post in this thread: "after perusing Name that tune topic I started thinking of songs that we remember from the first line. title not in first line. since it's my topic I'll go first." So, yes, it should be the first line (unless the title is in the first line). And it should be easy for most people to get. More challenging tunes should be reserved for "Name That Tune." George -

"Andy Warhol IS art. We must ask ourselves, does Andy imitate life or does life imitate Andy?" "I'm afraid of my father. I can't be what they want me to be." "Maybe you should kill your father." "I believe in a long prolonged derangement of the senses to attain the unknown... Although I live in the subconscious, our pale reason hides the infinite from us." "I was stoned. It seemed like a fun thing to do at the time." George

Well, actually, I have seen "Napoleon Dynamite." And other than it being really weird, the only line I can remember was him telling his uncle to quit eating his steaks! OK. This is a bit longer exchange than usual, but a lot of the short tag lines are used in several movies. "Wait, aren't you even going to watch them? They could get away!" "No no no, I'm going to leave them alone and not actually witness them dying, I'm just gonna assume it all went to plan. What?" "I have a gun, in my room, you give me five seconds, I'll get it, I'll come back down here, BOOM, I'll blow their brains out!" "Scott, you just don't get it, do ya? You don't." George
