  1. Okay. The series 1-1/2+1/3-1/4+1/5... is bounded. It approaches ln2 as the number of terms becomes infinite. Prove that 1+1/2+1/3+1/4+1/5... is unbounded, that is, it never approaches a finite number as the number of terms becomes infinite. I know two proofs; there may be more. I'm only asking for one. George
  2. Well, the song is "Hey Jude," but I don't remember the cover. George
  3. Not resonating with me, either. I'm guessing the Waysider's "whipped" was a clue, but I'm not getting it. George
  4. No. I don't think Heatherton was in any of the movies. She was cute, though. George
  5. I'm not sure if you're kidding. Bergen was in Carnal Knowledge but none of the others. George

  7. James Madison had that BMI (703 x 122)/(64 x 64) = 20.9 Interestingly, I have seen his weight and height given as 100 lbs and 5'0". That would give a BMI of 19.5. Either way, he was a little guy! George
  8. Took me a while to remember, but it's Double Shot of My Baby's Love. George
  9. So BMI = 703W/H**2. Being thin reduces the numerator. Being tall increases the denominator. Height actually has a greater proportionate effect. A 10% drop in weight (same height) drops the BMI 10%. A 10% increase in height (same weight) drops the BMI 21%. Unfortunately, almost half of the presidents were 6"0" or taller. Clearly, we can rule out Taft and Trump. I'll try George H. Bush. George
  10. William Atherton Real Genius Jon Gries George
  11. I think I answered most of these when I gave a similar clue. Abe Lincoln James Madison William Taft James Madison (again) I'm tempted to say Taft again, but a shorter, lighter President may have had a lower BMI. Coolidge? This might be Lincoln again. He was pretty lanky. George

  14. I guess we just don't have any bridge players in our little ensemble. I thought that that would be a dead giveaway. WW's up. George
  15. Trading Places This might be a little vague: "Ugh! As IF!" George
  16. No. State Fair Kitten with a Whip The Pleasure Seekers The Cincinnati Kid The Swinger Murderers' Row C.C. and Company 52 Pick-Up Magic Bye Bye Birdie Newsies The Villain George (It will get really obvious with the next set, if required.)
