  1. The film did pretty well. It's not obscure (though it's about 45 years old). George
  2. That is one of them. The other two are Houston and San Diego State. You're up! George
  3. I doubt The Iceman is an actor, so you need a different "link" from The Shape of Water. George
  4. So it is! Back to the games! George
  5. I use Edge. At work, I think it's something like Netscope (not Netscape!) giving the error message, though I browse with Edge. So, is there something wrong with the GS certificate? George
  6. I've been getting the same messages. I can get around them on my home computer by just verifying that I know the risk but want to go ahead. My work computer won't let me onto this site. George
  7. No, I want the movie (or the TV show). Houseman was one of the stars. George
  8. By me, I think he's got it! It did run five seasons and featured Morena Baccarin (Firefly) and Alexander Siddig (Deep Space 9). George
  9. I'm not sure what WW means by "It carried the name of the city." Was the name of the city in the title or just referred to during the run of the show? As for Raf's guesses, I'm not sure any of those shows ran five seasons. Powerless was obscure and might have been in-continuity with another DC offering, but it only went (part of) one season. It had Alan Tudyk from Firefly but no one from ST DS9. George
  10. The basketball team of my (PhD) alma mater, Illinois, beat Purdue yesterday to win its 20th regular season game (no conference tournaments or March Madness). In fact, it has hit or surpassed that mark in each of its last six seasons. There are only three other colleges with the same achievement (the past six seasons, not any consecutive six). Name one of them. None have been national champions in that span, but all three of them went to at least one Final Four. George
  11. Yes. The show often had little "Easter eggs." One of the funniest exchanges happened when Bart was imprisoned by Luthor: Bart: "I want to be released!" Luthor: "I want a ponytail. Disappointment abounds." George
  12. Umm...no, although Gielgud was considered for the role. You had it before you shifted to Welles. In his autobiography, one of the stars said of his Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination and win that "my first reaction was one of incredulity and vague pleasure, followed by a sense of embarrassment at the realization that for most actors of my age, an Academy Award or even a nomination comes as the hard-earned culmination of a long and dedicated career; mine was the reward for ten agreeable days spent with a friend in Toronto!" The same actor is also known for commercials portraying a very similar character. These commercials were often lampooned, exaggerating the actor's elite air. Most people don't realize that this movie was only his second theatrical movie. (He had many, subsequently.) Harvard University allowed this production only three days of filming on their campus. The administration had been very dissatisfied with Love Story (1970), which had been filmed there. As such, most of the campus scenes were shot at the University of Toronto. A TV series of the same name ran four seasons, starring the same actor. George
  13. Is the city a real location or just made up, like, say, Smallville? George
  14. Not Welles. First thought, WW, first thought. George
  15. My head is like that now, too. Didn't used to be, and I find it very frustrating, especially for these threads. POTC is correct. George
  16. I'll just flip the cards over. It was "What's Your Number?" An excerpt from Wikipedia: In Boston, Ally Darling is a 30-something woman, struggling to make better life decisions. Her boyfriend Rick breaks up with her when she asks him to attend her sister Daisy's wedding, and she then gets laid off. On the subway home, Ally comes across a Marie Claire article entitled "What's Your Number?", which says that women who have more than 20 lovers in their lifetime have difficulty finding a husband. After making a list of all the men she slept with, Ally realizes she's at 19, making her decide not to have sex with anyone else until she finds "the one". Good cast, fair film, but not well-known. FREE POST George
  17. That Pacific islander played the young Aquaman in "Aquaman." Yes. Momoa would have given it away. The other actors were voices for Aquaman in various cartoons. Smallville had a mini-Justice League including Superman (Tom Welling); Green Arrow (Justin Hartley); Aquaman (Alan Ritchson); Cyborg (Lee Thompson Young); and Impulse (Kyle Gallner). Other recurring roles included Black Canary (Alaina Huffman) and Martian Manhunter (Phil Morris). George
  18. One of my coworkers has had McAfee for some time and is quite happy with it. I think when I had my new computer set up last year it came with a free trial of McAfee, but I disabled it to keep Kaspersky running. George
  19. Raf is a lot closer. Hartley DID play Green Arrow on Smallville. Ritchson played the character in question on Smallville. One name would give it away immediately. George
  20. I couldn't think of anything other than that first line, but since you posted it, I assumed it wasn't the title. George
  21. Not "Glass Onion." This one is from 2011. Let's add a few more names. If no one still gets it, I'll try another movie. Anna Faris Blythe Danner Chris Pratt Zachary Quinto Chris Evans Ed Begley, Jr. Ari Graynor Martin Freeman Tyler Peck Ivana Milicevic Heather Burns Mike Vogel George
  22. No. I suspected it would be unfamiliar. There are several other actors, but the ones I've named are the most recognizable. George
  23. I would have thought that you'd recognize a couple of the other actors. Anyway, not Cyrano. George
