Actually, in the Foundational Class, it was more about Jesus not being just a swell guy, or a prophet, or the carpenter's bastard son, but in fact the Son of God. It's possible that in the Advanced Class VP also tied it in to JCING. George

"All I can say is, they did right by me - and I'm bringin' me and a mess of flowers to their funeral." "I don't think he's lost. I think the bank's been offerin' extra reward money for us. I think Frank just figured on some easy pickin's, didn't ya Frank? You're no Texas Ranger. You're hardly doin' your job. You ought to be home protectin' the rights of poor folk, not out chasin' after us!" George

Swell. Now I have to think of one. Recidivist scofflaw overthrows his government after being imprisoned for starting a manufacturing business. George

I got kicked out because I wouldn't stop questioning things. Maybe you can get your friends to question a few precepts and see what happens when they try to get "answers" from their leadership. It won't be pretty, and their feelings will probably get hurt, but better to see what the "heart of the ministry" really is. George

Yes. The "snow on the gas pumps" story could have been a vision. (Who else saw a tablecloth with unclean animals land on Peter's roof?) But the "snow in Tulsa" story just doesn't add up. "God made me see snow and hear voices telling me the transit systems were shut down" just doesn't make any sense. Lying is a far more likely explanation. George

I just googled it. It's a ZZ Top song with which I am unfamiliar (but maybe that hint will help someone else). George

"That gal's got entirely too many brains to have an a-s-s like that." "How long are you gonna be in town?" "Not very long." "That's what I said 25 years ago." "Really? What happened?" "I got married to an ugly woman. Don't ever do that. It just takes the energy right out of you. She left me, though. Found somebody even uglier than she was. That's life. Who can explain it?" George

It was a wild guess. I don't know how old Christine is. And I thought that maybe the Phantom killed rats in the Paris sewers. (He definitely commits other crimes.) Tant pis. George

"Phantom of the Opera"? George

I'm thinking it's "The Karate Kid." I don't recognize the first exchange, but the second is when one of Ali's girlfriends explains to Daniel that what he saw between Ali and Johnny wasn't what he thought it was. George

Sorry. It was Steve!. You started a number of these, and I just assumed... George

Don't feel bad. It's really hard to give clues in this thread. It's Raf's fault. He started it! George

Rascal, from the "Dr. said" thread: [T]he fact that we were so deceived by wierwille would I think, be a big indicator that in spite of its claims, pfal was a failure at teaching us separation of truth from error. George
