  1. That's the diner skit from "Saturday Night Live." I remember one time when Jane Curtin comes in and tells Belushi she wants a tea. "No tea! Pepsi!" "Just give me a water, then." "Okay. Tea." The Final Frontier George
  2. Charlie's Angels Lucy Liu Shanghai Noon George
  3. National Velvet Mickey Rooney Night at the Museum George
  4. Yes. In the early episodes, Dick would tumble over an ottoman in during the opening credits. In later episodes, he deftly avoided it. Buddy (Morey Amsterdam) was always plaguing Mel (Richard Deacon) with jokes about his baldness. Go. George
  5. No. It was "Fantastic Four II: Rise of the Silver Surfer." It did well at the box office, but it was no smash. The memorable part of this is that Stan Lee does a cameo in almost all of the Marvel superhero movies. In this one, he played himself, trying to attend the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, but the guy checking names refuses to believe him. :) FREE POST George
  6. "Sure, why not? I am the token black guy. I'm just supposed to smile and stay out of the conversation and say things like: "Damn," "Sh--," and "That is whack."" "I want you." "Catherine that's disgusting! You're my sister." "Only by blood." "What's wrong with this family?" George
  7. I guess. Actually, they did try to repair the boat a few times. In the movie "Back to the Beach," Bob Denver plays a bartender who relates a story about being trapped on an island with a guy who could make a nuclear reactor from coconuts but couldn't fix a three-foot hole in a boat! :) Tripping over an ottoman, baldy jokes. George
  8. You REALLY didn't get Pearl Harbor??? "To Kill a Mockingbird" is correct. It hlps if you recognize the "Tookie Tookie Bird" from George of the Jungle TOOKIE + LLAMA + (ML) KING + (Lary) BIRD You're up! George (of the suburbs)
  9. Grandview, USA C. Thomas Howell The Outsiders George
  10. "Lola" In that vein: Her name is Lola, she was a showgirl George
  11. I thought the "I hate most of you" comment was a bit out of character. No reason to hate yourself, either. Sometimes life sucks, but don't let it turn you evil. George
  12. Animal House John Belushi Neighbors George
  13. Well? To the non-Raf among you, you probably don't need the first picture to figure it out. But the cartoon character is from the "George of the Jungle" series, if that helps. George
  14. "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" (but also quoted in Star Trek III and IV) Hopefully, this doesn't violate my own rules for this thread: "No, I really AM Stan Lee!" George
  15. That's what I'm talking about. "Risky Business" "It has been established that persons who have recently died have been returning to life and committing acts of murder. A widespread investigation of funeral homes, morgues, and hospitals has concluded that the unburied dead have been returning to life and seeking human victims. It's hard for us here to be reporting this to you, but it does seem to be a fact." George
  16. Chicago Richard Gere American Gigolo George
  17. It shows up fine for me. Must have to do with computer settings. Let me see if I can attach another picture here: If you can see it, it replaces the first. George
  18. The Cowsills' other song ;) "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things" I can turn a grey sky blue... George
  19. four pics, you need (two) names George
  20. Yes. Flicks DEDUCED from just one line are OK. Back to bfh's clues: X - "Has anyone ever buried a person up there?" Y - "Christ on his throne no. Who ever would?" "Dead is better." George
  21. Fine. It's Pearl Harbor of course. I'll post a new one later. George
  22. North Dallas Forty Steve Forrest Amazon Women on the Moon George
  23. Of course, we can't use MY knowledge of movies as the standard, but I think we've strayed a bit from the purpose of this thread. For instance, Human's quote from Die Hard, while recognizable to bfh (and one that I remember from the movie -- after it's been pointed out), is probably not the most recognizable line. I would suggest that "Yippie-kai-yay, mother------" would probably give it away even to someone who hasn't seen the movie. In the case of the current clue, either it's a fairly little-seen movie, or the choice of quote is not great. Remember that we have "Name that Flick," where it's fine to be subtle, at least for a while. I guess a problem that I didn't really consider when I started this thread was that there are really only about a couple dozen movies that would be instantly recognizable to most people with a single quote or short dialogue. And we've seen them all. :) We obviously don't want to go over the same movies, time and again, so what to do? Let me give a couple of simple ideas: Pick a movie that did well at the box office. Even if it won Academy Awards, but no one saw it, like "My Left Foot," don't use it. The older the movie, the better-known it has to be. Unless it's something like "The Wizard of Oz" or "Gone with the Wind," there had better be at least one REALLY famous line from it. A longer quote may be a little better than a short one, unless the short one is VERY recognizable. Carry on. George
