  1. We used to have some C&W folks here. Ah, well... "All My Exes Live in Texas" FREE POST George
  2. Robert DeNiro Anger Management Billy Crystal George
  3. Salma Hayek Wild, Wild West Kevin Kline George
  4. "Woo-boo-boo-boo-boo! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!" George
  5. Rosanna's down in Texarkana Wanted me to push her broom Sweet Eileen's in Abilene She forgot I hung the moon And Allison's in Galveston Somehow lost her sanity And Dimple's who now lives in Temple's Got the law looking for me [Chorus, contains title] I remember that old Frio River Where I learned to swim But it brings to mind another time Where I wore my welcome thin By transcendental meditation I go there each night But I always come back to myself Long before daylight George
  6. Not specific enough. Both of those lines could have been from a number of movies... George
  7. "I Saw Her Standing There" Well, I left a good job in the city... George
  8. Actually, "Bambi" and "Thumper" are Blofeld's henchwomen in "Diamonds Are Forever" (The Bambi and Thumper names are because they'll knock you silly with gymnastic fighting moves. As they are, of course, easy on the eyes, James Bond has other ideas about what they can "do for him.") FREE POST George
  9. Rosanna's down in Texarkana Wanted me to push her broom Sweet Eileen's in Abilene She forgot I hung the moon And Allison's in Galveston Somehow lost her sanity And Dimple's who now lives in Temple's Got the law looking for me George
  10. The film is called "Chronicle" (an independent film). Three teenagers are exposed to radiation which gives them telekinetic powers. With no Ma and Pa Kent or Aunt Mae in the picture, it doesn't end well. For a limited-budget film, the special effects are very good. FREE POST George
  11. Well, it's not "The Tonight Show," so it might be a news show. Evening news started later, but maybe "CBS Nightly News"? George
  12. Soap operas started in the early 50's. I know a few have been cancelled in recent years, but I'm going to go with "General Hospital." George
  13. I bet you could take it from Cameron Diaz... George
  14. That's it. Cute show. As it was cancelled after a few episodes, the loose ends were tied up in an X-Files episode called "Jump the Shark." You're up, WW. George
  15. Since bfh said carry on,I assume that Raf's and then my clue are up. So: 1. "I'm 'Bambi.'" 2. "And I am 'Thumper.' Is there something we can do for you?" 3. "I can think of several things, off hand..." George If no one gets it by tomorrow, I'll post the answer. Hint: it's NOT a cartoon.
  16. "The Incredible Hulk." An homage to the line from the TV series, "Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) hadn't quite caught on to Portuguese, yet. As an aside, as much as I like to eat, I've used the "Don't make me hungry" line for YEARS! 1. "I'm 'Bambi.'" 2. "And I am 'Thumper.' Is there something we can do for you?" 3. "I can think of several things, off hand..." George
  17. No. This flick was in theaters a few months ago. "Wow, look! A rave!" "Oh wow, look! A nerd with a camera!" "I've been doing a lot of reading, you know? Like, online about, like, just evolution and natural selection and how like there's this thing, right? It's called the apex predator, right? And basically what this is, is the strongest animal in the ecosystem, right? And as human beings, we're considered the apex predator but only because smaller animals can't feed on us because of weapons and stuff, right? A lion does not feel guilty when it kills a gazelle, right? You do not feel guilty when you squash a fly... and I think that means something. I just think that really means something." "Andrew! Andrew, look at me! This has to stop right now, okay? This is really, really bad. What happened to you?" "Why did you catch him?" "Listen, just focus okay?" "I dropped him! Why did you catch him?" "Andrew, this is not a game, do you understand? You're hurting people!" "Yes, it was the black guy this time..." George
  18. "Mellow Yellow" Oh where oh where can my baby be? George
  19. "The X-Files" Spinoff from "The X-Files" (note: this was short-lived, but a lot of fun) George
  20. Oops, my bad. I meant Green Hornet, not Green Lantern. If you can, gang, take it from Green Hornet. George
  21. Correct. I can still hear it, in that gravelly, George C. Scott voice! George
  22. Plagiarism is willfully taking credit for another's work. (A problem I have when I'm writing marches, is that I've heard so many of them over the years that I'm not sure if I'm composing or remembering!) As WordWolf points out, there are a number of times when VPW was clearly guilty of this. On the other hand, in this particular case, he could simply have been reciting a cliche. I might say, "Better safe than sorry." Most people would recognize that, though there might be some who haven't heard it who would think, That's clever. I didn't say I was quoting someone else, but I didn't imply that it was an original saying, either. Now, did VPW steal it from the Brian Piccolo story? Maybe. Or maybe he just heard someone else say it and thought it was a nice saying to use. George
