  1. A bank executive pulls off a multi-million dollar heist, only to be cased by a sexy insurance investigator. He promises to meet her in six months atop the Empire State Building, where he will reveal all. George
  2. "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Encounters of the Third Kind" George
  3. Well, there are no movies titled "Thunder Close" or "Roar Close," so I have no idea. George
  4. Hannie Caulder Raquel Welch The Three Musketeers (early 70's) George
  5. It is, in fact, "Eureka." Home of Global Dynamics, the world's greatest "think tank," where something bad ALWAYS happens, and it usually takes the clever (but not brilliant) sheriff to save the day. You're up. George
  6. No. "Leverage" is a great show, by the way. Archimedes would have named this show while stepping naked in a tub and noticing the water rise. George
  7. Archimedes could have named the town (and the eponymous series). George (Same show)
  8. WordWolf is correct. Superman 3 is the only Superman movie (since the 70's) where neither Zod nor Luthor was the villain. Richard Pryor plays a computer whiz blackmailed by Robert Vaughn to kill Superman. First he tries to make Kryptonite, but since he couldn't get the exact recipe, it only made Superman slovenly. Then Vaughn has him build a supercomputer (reminiscent of the "Bat-puter" of the 60's); but that doesn't do it, either (of course). Vaughn was able to blackmail Pryor because he caught Pryor getting all of the rounded fractions of cents from everyone else's paycheck put into a check for himself. This stratagem (with the appropriate reference) was used in "Office Space," as well. George
  9. "I ask you to kill Superman, and you're telling me you couldn't even do that one, simple thing." "I don't want to go to jail because there are robbers and rapers and rapers who rape robbers." "Well I hope you don't expect me to save you, 'cause I don't do that anymore." "I'm long past savin'." "Activate circuits 29 through W7 and start full-power coordinates on exterior defensive systems." "In other words, push this red button." "How did you know about that?" "You know a wise man once said, I think it was Attila the Hun, "It is not enough that I succeed, everyone else must fail."" "What will it do?" "Anything I tell it." "What will it do for me?" "For you, it will do anything you tell me to tell it to do for you." A key plot element of this movie was mentioned in "Office Space." George

  11. Sorry. I just can't think of a movie title ending in "close." George
  12. Sad, yes. I have some more obvious quotes, for later. George
  13. "You know a wise man once said, I think it was Attila the Hun, "It is not enough that I succeed, everyone else must fail."" "What will it do?" "Anything I tell it." "What will it do for me?" "For you, it will do anything you tell me to tell it to do for you." George
  14. "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"? George
  15. I'm pretty sure I know the second half, but the first isn't familiar to me. George
  16. OK, then. "Cast Away." Let's see if I can come up with another. George
  17. Peter Sellers Being There Shirley MacLaine George
  18. I thought that was pretty easy, but here's another from the same movie: "Hey! The sheriff's a nig..." [Clock bell chimes] "What did he say?" "He said the sheriff's near." "No, gone blame it dang blammit! The sheriff is a nig..." George
  19. The only non-genius on this show was the sheriff (and maybe the owner of the diner). George
