  1. One last try. Sheriff Hand has to face the vengeance of a student he failed in history years ago. He gets no help from Brad Hamilton, Mike Davone, or even Jeff Spicoli. Only his wife stands with him. Starring Gary Cooper as Sheriff Hand. George
  2. Catwoman Sharon Stone The Quick and the Dead George
  3. I guess you just need to say that if a line is "straight up and down" (or parallel to the Y-axis), its slope is undefined, because slope = (delta Y)/(delta X), but between any two points on the line, delta X = 0. Just as the term 5/0 is undefined (there is no number X such that 0X=5), so is the slope of a line parallel to the Y-axis. I could see how one might call that "no slope," although that would be an imprecise description. This is, of course, different from zero slope, which would be a horizontal line (parallel to the X-axis), since for any two points on the line, delta Y = 0. George
  4. George of the Jungle Thomas Haden Church Tombstone George
  5. "You encased your father's skull in a bowling ball???" "Don't be ridiculous. I had the pro shop do it." George
  6. Ah, I remember it well. Your clue should be good enough to let another get it, so I'll pass, for now. :) George
  7. Although you never actually used the phrase, "The Cosby Show," I'll give it to you. Go dig up videos of the opening music sequences from the various seasons. I think the Caribbean version was my favorite. You're up. George
  8. I remember one of my classes in college. P Chem, I think. The professor asked if there were any questions. When there were none, he asked, "Do you all understand what I just said, or don't you understand enough to ask a question?" Every head started shaking, "Don't know." He explained again, in a way we better understood. :) George
  9. Ex-spy, ex-gym teacher, now an obstetrician... George
  10. The star of the show starred in two other series and a Saturday morning cartoon. :) George
  11. Not necessarily. "The Shawshank Redemption"? George
  12. I have to re-write this a bit, because I had assumed that some details in a futuristic remake of the older film were taken from the older one. Mr. Hand has to face the vengeance of a student he failed in history years ago. He gets no help from Brad Hamilton, Mike Davone, or even Jeff Spicoli. Only his wife stands with him. Starring Gary Cooper as Mr. Hand. George
  13. It was VERY popular in the late 80's George
  14. Palmetto Woody Harrelson Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me George
  15. Most of those algebraic tricks, where you "prove" that 1 = 2, or such like, have steps involving dividing by zero (cleverly hidden, of course). :) George
  16. This eight-season show had seven different opening songs, well, actually, seven different variations on a theme. Cast members, in theme-appropriate garb, dance through the opening credits (except for the first season). George
  17. Since anything times 0 equals 0, 0/0 can equal anything (which is what they mean by "indeterminate." Your example is a limit. It would be accurate to say that the limit of 2x/x, as x approaches zero, is 2, since no matter how close you get to zero (without actually getting there), the answer is 2. In old epsilon-delta terminology, for any epsilon difference from 2, I can give a delta difference from X=0 so that f(X+d) - 2 < e. George
  18. Years ago AT&T was trying to sell me call waiting. The salesman asked, "Do you ever miss important calls, because you're on the phone?" My answer: "I wouldn't know." George
  19. Brad and Mike were in the same film as Hand and Spicoli. The other half of this is about facing someone from one's past with limited help from those nearby. George
  20. Bea Benederet ("Kate") died during the run of PJ (being replaced by June Lockhart in a different role); but I don't remember her from BH (or GA). George
  21. Mr. Hand has to face the vengeance of a student he failed in history years ago. He gets no help from Brad Hamilton or Mike Davone; but, surprisingly, Jeff Spicoli steps up. George
  22. "Sam Drucker" was in "Green Acres," "Petticoat Junction," and "The Beverly Hillbillies." I'm blanking on the woman. Maybe WW, Raf, or Human can figure it out. George
  23. The first part sounds like "The Day the Earth Stood Still," but I don't recognize the second part. George
