  1. "Good evening, and welcome to a private showing of three paintings, displayed here for the first time. Each is a collectors' item in its own way - not because of any special artistic quality, but because each captures on a canvas, and suspends in time and space, a frozen moment of a nightmare." George
  2. Sort of like Mr. Ed in a garage. Wasn't his mom reincarnated in the car, or some such? Dushku was the main star of Dollhouse. Glau showed up later. Warehouse 13 is a FUN show. I'd recommend getting it on DVD or Hulu, or whatever. (Two of the cast from Alphas appeared in this week's WH 13.) :rolleyes:/> New show, soon. George
  3. Ann Sothern was the voice of his (My) Mother, the Car. George
  4. OK. After she killed SCC, she jumped to Dollhouse, killing it after four episodes (it was in its second season). She then starred in The Cape, which made about a half season. She joined Alphas in its second season, ending its run. Any wonder that I worry about Arrow? WordWolf is up. George PS: There are a number of ways to find out that your favorite sci-fi show has been cancelled. A common one is to see the stars become regulars on other shows (e.g., Sanctuary's stars appearing on Falling Skies and Supernatural). Another is to find out by watching The Big Bang Theory (the cancellation of Alphas was a major focus of one episode.) Another is to find out in a friend's Christmas letter. The daughter of one of my friends is in the crew of Warehouse 13, so I found out last December that it was going bye-bye.
  5. The Octagon Lee Van Cleef The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly George
  6. It was actually Joey Bishop that tipped me off. It is often thought that this woman dubbed Julie Andrews's voice in "The Sound of Music." She did not, but DID dub Deborah Kerr in "The King and I," Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady," part of Marilyn Monroe's singing in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," and both Natalie Wood and Rita Moreno in "West Side Story." Her work was mostly uncredited; in a couple of instances, the actresses didn't even know they were voiced over. George
  7. I have lots of guesses. Let's try "Ocean's Eleven" (the original) George
  8. Her LONGEST gig was "The Sarah Connor Chronicles." ALMOST two seasons before cancellation. "Firefly" didn't make even one season. Any others, out there? George
  9. I wasn't counting "Arrow" in my five. Let's see which ones you have. If no one else chimes in, I'll give the rest and hand it off to you. George
  10. I never know about Cesar Romero's mustache, until much later, also. DC comics has a new comic out, "Batman '66," based on the TV show, with reasonable likenesses of the cast. In Joker close-ups, you can see the white mustache! George
  11. It would have been easy to get that impression, as it was released after the show began airing, but that was not the original intent. George
  12. The first Star Trek movie aired a decade AFTER the show. I don't remember a Brady Bunch movie (except some made-for-TV things). It's hard to do much more without being VERY obvious. One actor refused to shave his mustache, so he wore makeup over it. George
  13. Summer Glau has appeared in five sci-fi/fantasy shows. None of them survived two full seasons with her in the cast. (Most didn't make one.) Can you name them? George PS. She now has a recurring role in "Arrow," which does not bode well for the show.
  14. I suspect you're a bit older than I am. Also, at that age, I wasn't the one determining what would be watched. Finally, you said yourself that the show didn't last, because it was on opposite Ed Sullivan (which I DID watch). A lot of older shows were rerun in syndication, and that may have made them better known. As we've seen from this thread, a stellar cast does not a well-known TV show make. One would think that a prime time series starring Buck Henry and Teri Garr, with frequent guests Steve Martin, Jeff Goldblum, Al Franken, and John Candy would be well-known. It wasn't. :) There's nothing wrong with trying an old show you liked. I don't mind a challenge. George
  15. I think that as a general rule of thumb, here, the older a show is, the more well-known it should be. In other words, recent and obscure is fine, but old and obscure, probably not. George
  16. I hadn't noticed, but you're right, he hasn't been on screen since that movie. Of course, he was 73 at the time, so retiring might have had nothing to do with the movie. WordWolf is up. George
  17. Chuck Connors was "The Rifleman" and "Branded." I'm thinking David Janssen running for his life as "The Fugitive." I can't think of a show starring both. (The "first half, second half" part sounds like the way more current shows ("Law and Order") are patterned; but, again, it rings no OLD bells...) George
  18. The movie starred almost all of the TV show cast, with one significant replacement. George
  19. That's the one. Patton defeats Rommel's Afrika Korps, partially because he had read Rommel's book on tank warfare. You're up! George
  20. David Carradine Lone Wolf McQuade Chuck Norris George
