  2. I read an observation once that I thought was interesting. When we think if a musical decade, we usually think of music from the latter half of the calendar decade through the first couple of years of the next. For example, "50's" music ran from about 1955 to 1964. "60's" music was from 1964 to the mid 70's. "70's" music would mostly be associated with disco, late 70's through early 80's. After that, it becomes hard to pick a particular style. (What is "80's" music, etc.?) I presume that your question deals with the CALENDAR 1970's. It probably excludes disco, too. I don't know anybody (even among fans of the genre) who considers any disco song the best ROCK and ROLL tune. George
  3. Both roles were associated with military groups. One show ran for 10 seasons on two networks. A spin-off is currently among the top rated shows. The other show ran for four seasons. It was a franchise product which sadly did not meet expectations. (Three other shows in the franchise made at least eight seasons.) George
  4. He was not the star of either show, but had significant recurring roles in both. George
  5. Bruce Willis Die Hard Bonnie Bedelia George
  6. "Don't be so fast to thank me on this, Luger, because you're going to be naked on this one. It's on the line for you. People are going to be watching. Now you blow it, you're going down. You screw up, you're going to be hung out to dry. You drop the ball, you're going to be left twisting in the wind. If you embarrass this department, your pants will be dancing with figs. Is that clear?" "Everything except the pants fig thing." "Quid pro quo Mr Colt." "What does that mean?" "It means I'm pretentious." "There's something between you and this General Morters." "He was my C.O. in NAM. CIA listed him as M.I.A. but the V.A. ID'd him and so we put out an APB." "Oh, I see." "So what are you doing here?" "Waiting for you." "I mean, what brought you here?" "A taxi." "Yeah, but why?" "My car's in the shop." "I mean... Why the hell did you come here?" "The police station would have made me nervous." "You better go." George
  7. Anjelica Huston The Grifters John Cusack George
  8. "Animal House" I know we're not supposed to be political on this thread, but the re-election of Obama made me think of that quote, quite often. "Is there anything you'd like to tell me before we start?" "Yeah. I'm going to kill you pretty soon." "I see. How, exactly?" "First I'm going to use you as a human shield. Then I'm going to kill this guard over here with the Patterson trocar on the table. And then I was thinking about breaking your neck." George
  9. Actually, NOT related, though I just found that out. George
  10. Slightly different tack, here. Steven Culp (below) "died" on two different series in the same week in 2004. Name the shows. (If no one gets them both, credit will be given for one.) George
  11. As was recently pointed out to me, a film title has to be followed with an actor's name. George
  12. There were two "Knight Rider"s, but I can't think of another show with a similar name. George
  13. This was the only spoken line in the film: "Non!" George
  14. The straightforward answer is, tell. But, if I knew someone was taking home the occasional pen, I doubt I'd bring it up. (I might mention it to the person involved.) If someone is walking off with fifty dollars from the register, or spending all day on personal calls, I'd consider that more egregious. How, exactly, are the employees ripping off the company? George And, if it's the company you work for, you DO have a pony in the race.
  15. NO. You were abused. Could you have made better choices? Probably. But you DIDN'T desrve it. George
  16. No telling when Raf might return from the Phantom Zone. Feel free to jump in, if you have one. George
  17. "Roger Murdoch", in the cockpit, with the kid relaying his dad's criticisms of Kareem Abdul Jabbar. That was actually the scene I remembered. The rest fell into place, after that. "There's something between you and this General Morters." "He was my C.O.
  18. To be fair, I did this one from memory, so you're probably right about mixing two scenes. Anyway, you're up! George
  19. Actually, it's "MADTV," but good enough. I rarely watched it, but I loved that commercial! (By that time, I had quit watching SNL, as it was no longer funny...) George
  20. "Wasn't your hump on the OTHER side?" "WHAT hump?" George
