  1. "Animaniacs" would sort of fit, but I was thinking of "The Critic" The current show is "30 Rock" You might also remember the short-lived "Sports Night." If you google "TV shows about TV shows," you can also find some others, including the BBC offerings. FREE POST George
  2. WordWolf already had "Murphy Brown." I can still think of one current TV show and a cartoon from the 90's. There are some BBC shows, but those are a bit too obscure, I think. I'll give you another day or so. George
  3. So, were they consoled by the talk show host, or counseled by him? I don't know the answer, either way... George
  4. Army vets Bob Wallace and Phil Davis are now a song-and-dance team. Enamored with a lovely female duo, they follow the girls to a lodge in Vermont, only to find that the lodge is owned by their former commander, Ebenezer Scrooge. George
  5. That WAS the obvious one. There are others. George
  6. The cast gave away the middle one, which then led me to the first. "Vanilla Sky Pilot and the World of Tomorrow Never Dies" George
  7. That's two more. Any others? I can think of at least one very popular (if older) show. George
  8. This quote was cute, because "Danny" recognized one of the actors in this movie as Salieri from "Amadeus." George
  9. I know the last one. The first one seems familiar, but I can't think of the title. I'm not getting the middle one at all, which is surprising, since how many movies have giant robots attacking New York? :) George
  10. I'm not sure I'll know whom to declare the "winner," but let's see how many TV shows we can name which were about making TV shows (or, at least, in which one of the main characters is seen routinely on such a show). Two examples to get started: The Larry Sanders Show The Mary Tyler Moore Show George
  11. "Grease" "Your Honor, every one of these letters is addressed to Santa Claus. The Post Office has delivered them. Therefore the Post Office Department, a branch of the Federal Government, recognizes this man Kris Kringle to be the one and only Santa Claus." George
  12. At first, I was thinking "The Saint," but it can only really be "The Avengers" (Bahm-ba-da-baa-DAHHH) George
  13. I'm guessing that they're John Astin (not Raul Julia!) and Jack Cassidy. I can almost picture them together, but I really can't remember the show. George
  14. "Danny told me not to trust you. He said you killed Mozart." "Mo- who?" "-zart." "You know, I kill a lot of people, I can't remember half of them." George
  15. I never saw "Philadelphia." The lawyer part was probably a common joke. My favorite variation: A 747 full of lawyers went down in the Atlantic. The good news is that everybody drowned. What's the bad news? There were 10 empty seats. "Carpe Diem!" George
  16. A fowl from another universe is brought to our Earth by calls made by long-bearded Christian entrepreneurs. George
  17. I was hoping that "Doyle" and "Frog One" would give it away. "The French Connection" is correct. George
  18. You've got the song right, so I'll give it to you. Percy Sledge did the most famous version, followed by Michael Bolton. The only good thing about the song is that women will usually dance REALLY CLOSE to it. Maybe that's why guys like it. Of course, the lyrics describe the guy as a total idiot. George
  19. Again, I get half of it. The first part is Men of Honor. The second part looks like The Secret of My Success, but that's clearly wrong. George
  20. "Grace Under Fire" It was the number 1 new comedy in 1993 (#4 show overall) and did well for three seasons. The Butler dealt (in her personal life) with some addiction problems, and the show tanked. FREE POST George
  21. The first part must be Die Hard, but I don't recognize the other half. George
