  1. "V.I.P." (Valery Irons Protection) Close enough. For someone who didn't watch, you got the women's names as well as I would have! ;) George
  2. "The Music Man" This is my ninth sick day this semester. It's pretty tough coming up with new illnesses. If I go for ten, I'm probably going to have to barf up a lung, so I better make this one count. George
  3. Indeed. The only Superman film since 1975 without Luthor or Zod as the villain. (What's up with THAT? It's not as if Superman doesn't have a slew of other villains...) Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor) found that he could get his company's payroll computer to add up all the fractional cents from everyone else's paychecks and give him a weekly "bonus." Apparently, this concept is known as "salami slicing." In the movie "Office Space," characters bring up the idea and mention its use in "Superman 3." George PS Looking at IMDb's Trivia for Superman 3, apparently the original idea was to have Brainiac and Mr. Mxyxptlk as the villains, and a tie-in to Supergirl. I'd say that ANYTHING would have been better than the actual film, but then there was "Superman 4."
  4. Nope. This particular Superman movie is referenced in a cult movie favorite. George
  5. I ask you to kill Superman, and you're telling me you couldn't even do that one, simple thing. (OK, it's obviously a Superman flick. But which one?) George
  6. "Barnaby Jones" I remember that they were going to do a Beverly Hillbillies reunion special, years ago. The basic plot was celebrating Granny's 100th birthday (or something), but Jed had been gone for a long time, so they'd hire Barnaby Jones to find him. ;) The reason it didn't come off was that Irene Ryan had already passed away. :( I think we're out of Lee Meriwether links. Here's something else: A Playboy Playmate (in real life) stars as a hot dog stand girl who saves a celebrity and winds up being the figurehead for a real bodyguard service. George
  7. There WERE a couple of good episodes (Tony meeting himself as a kid at Pearl Harbor...) I think the main attraction, though, was Lee Meriwether. I bet you can come up with another show (with only about six decades to choose from). ;) George
  8. "Two American scientists are lost in the swirling maze of past and future ages, during the first experiments on America's greatest and most secret project..." George
  9. I know the Eli Wallach and Otto Preminger played "Mr. Freeze" in "Batman." I don't know who George Sanders is, but I suspect he did, too. And let's not forget Julie Newmar/Eartha Kitt and Frank Gorshin/John Astin. George
  10. Yes. That's it. Did the Shaq zombie clue help? George
  11. From the title, one might think this movie is about Shaquille O'Neil turning zombie. Actually, thinking that Sheriff Pusser may have arrested the wrong man, Sister Prejean tries to have the convicted killer freed. Starring Joe Don Baker and Susan Sarandon. George
  12. I guess there are three options: Harry upholstered a LOT of furniture, every year; Vic lied about Harry's income; or Harry had other income, which could have been legitimate (investments, etc.) or illegitimate. George
  13. I can't find "Men in Work" at IMDb. And David Arquette didn't star in a film with a name resembling that, as far as I can tell. George
  14. "Swear to God, sometimes I wish I was a lesbian." "Do you want to try to have sex sometime just to see if we are?" "What? Yeah, right. Just the idea of having sex with another woman creeps me out. But if we're not married by the time we're 30, ask me again." "Okay." "Actually I invented a special kind of glue." "Oh really? Well then I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving us a detailed account of exactly how you concocted this miracle glue, would you?" "No. Um, well, ordinarily when you make glue first you need to thermoset your resin and then after it cools you have to mix in an epoxide, which is really just a fancy-schmancy name for any simple oxygenated adhesive, right? And then I thought maybe, just maybe, you could raise the viscosity by adding a complex glucose derivative during the emulsification process and it turns out I was right." "Did you lose weight?" "Actually, I have been trying this new fat free diet I invented. All I've had to eat for the past six days are gummy bears, jelly beans, and candy corns." "God, I wish I had your discipline." "This dress exacerbates the genetic betrayal that is my legacy." "OK, I don't even know what you're talking about cause of those words, but come here." George

  19. Actually, I bet it's "The Big Valley of the Dolls." George
