The tag line for this 1970's movie was, "You'd never take her for a call girl. You'd never take him for a cop." The movie's title is the cop's name, though the call girl was the main character. Winning the Oscar for Best Actress, the "call girl" gave the shortest acceptance speech ever (suggested to her by her Oscar-winning father): "Thank you...thank you very much members of the Academy and thank all of you who applauded. There's a great deal to say and I'm not going to say it tonight, I would just like to really thank you very much." The actress was better known in later years for political activism. George

It's obviously about a woman the singer knows well. I'll tell you it's not his wife, mother, or sister. George

Interesting guess, although there was never a 5 1/2 Weeks movie. A secretary, whose idea was stolen by her boss, pretends to be the boss after the boss is injured. For this, the secretary is put in a mental hospital. Starring Melanie Griffith. George -

Here's the whole song, with the title redacted: The worst person I know [TITLE][TITLE] She worries me so [TITLE][TITLE] If she leaves us alone we would have a happy home Sent from down below [TITLE][TITLE] [TITLE][TITLE] I come home with my pay [TITLE][TITLE] She asks me what I made [TITLE][TITLE] She thinks her advice is a contribution but if she will leave that will be the solution and don't come back no more [TITLE][TITLE] [TITLE][TITLE] Satan should be her name [TITLE][TITLE] To me they're about the same [TITLE][TITLE] Every time I open my mouth She steps in and tries to put me out How could she stoop so low [TITLE][TITLE] [TITLE][TITLE] The 60's group was part of the British Invasion. "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"? George

I guess that depends on what you mean by girl shows. If they have attractive girls showing their wares ("Police Woman," "Charlie's Angels," "Charmed," "Partners in Crime," I'm there. If you mean drama-queen stuff, count me out. ;) George

That's it. I didn't want to use the "remembered from one line" quote ("Say hello to my little friend!"); but almost all of the quotes in IMDb were obscene. Your turn. George

Pretty much every other line had the F-word in it. George

The song was a minor hit for one of my favorite 60's bands; it was a bigger hit for a solo artist in 1961. George

I come home with my pay She asks me what I made She thinks her advice is a contribution But if she would leave, that would be the solution And don't come back no more... Satan should be her name To me they're about the same. George

I'm hesitant to make this guess, as you list Bob Keeshan as a guest, but I'll still try "Captain Kangaroo." George (If nothing else, it definitely WAS long-running!)

Boys, boys, don't make me come over there and separate you! :) Assuming WW is correct, that the lead female role is a fictional character, then what you posted earlier was incorrect and would never have led to the right answer. That said, I obviously know who Christopher Lloyd and Danny DeVito are, but I have no idea what movie they both might have had minor roles in, in the 70's. Nor can I think of any movies which won all three big Oscars. You don't have to use ideas from WW, but I'm still going to need more help to get this one. Does the title contain the female character's name? George

OK, then, "Groundhog Day of the Triffids" Now that it has been revealed, the title does seem vaguely familiar. I don't recall either TV series, though. A secretary, whose idea was stolen by her boss, pretends to be the boss after the boss is injured. For this, the secretary is put in a mental hospital. George -
Don't know him. Googled his photo. Didn't help. :) George
