  1. Neither Lola-La nor Liri Lee were ones that came to my mind, but I'm sure they're correct answers. Lori Lemaris met Clark Kent in college. She disguised her tail by pretending to be wheelchair-bound, with her "legs" covered. The other two that I thought of were Lyla Lerrol, a Kryptonian actress who met Superman when he traveled in time to pre-destruction Krypton, and Luma Lynai, whom Supergirl tried to set up with her cousin. She couldn't live under Earth's sun. You're up! George
  2. Any one 1938 to present is fine. LLs just haven't been as much of a thing, recently. George
  3. In the early years (1938 to, say, 1978) of Superman, a disproportionate number of characters had the initials "L.L." Lex Luthor, for instance. Off the top of my head, I can think of five women that Superman was romantically involved with who had those initials. Other than Lois Lane and Lana Lang, can you remember any of the others? George
  4. This could be a trick question, as battles often occur after a war is "over." But, let's try the obvious: A) Yorktown B) Cornwallis C) Washington D) the French fleet blocked their escape. Incidentally, when I visited DC this past October, I picked up a copy of Cornwallis's Articles of Surrender, George
  5. I'll just say you won twice. George
  6. The success of the Batman TV show spawned a number of super-hero shows of various quality. Here are two, one-season shows from 1967. Name one to win the round: Stanley Beamish, the weakling proprietor of a Washington gas station, is also a top-secret super agent. When the Government's Bureau of Special Projects needs Stanley, he takes a pill that gives him an hour's worth of strength, courage, and flying time. There have been two DC characters with the same name, in versions of the Justice Society (And it's not Hourman.) Carter Nash was a chemist in a police department who discovered a liquid that could turn him into an odd sort of superhero: very shy and dominated by his mother. Taking the liquid blew off his outer clothes, so he basically fought bad guys in his long johns and belt. The first time he appeared, someone asked him what the "CN" on his belt buckle stood for. He didn't want to say his name, so he came up with his corny alias. No DC character with the same name. George
  7. The only one of these I've seen is Coyote Ugly. Piper Perabo? George
  8. Birds of Prey and the .... Harley Quinn Mary Elizabeth Winstead Sky High George
  9. There was no doubt that that phrase was used in TPB, but it could have been from other films. Anyway, "You talkin' to me?" George
  10. That's the one. Clint Eastwood is the oldest actor to receive top billing in a movie, at the age of 91 in 2021. He starred in Cry Macho. One site gives Maggie Smith as the oldest actress to receive top billing (81 YO in The Lady in the Van)., but I've also found June Squibb, who at 94 YO starred in Thelma. The citation doesn't use the term "top billing," "top billed," etc., so maybe she doesn't count. George
  11. Tom Hanks Big Elizabeth Perkins George
  12. Correct. The first quote is by the Joker. The second two are quips between Bruce Wayne and Alfred. George
  13. Not a bad guess, but this actor was older when he got his last top billing. (He's older than he looks, too; though he doesn't look young, by any means.) George
  14. It's the young boy thing that's really throwing me. I suspect that his name would make the answer obvious. George
  15. I know Barbara Streisand and Ryan O'Neal starred in a couple of movies in the 70s, but I don't think either got Best Picture. George
  16. Paper Moon? I'm sure if I saw a list of Best Picture winners from the 70s, I could figure it out, but I don't remember the winners from that long ago. George
  17. Who was the oldest actor to get top billing in a movie? He's pretty well-known. If you can tell me who the oldest ACTRESS was to get top billing in a movie, I'd be really impressed. I don't think I've ever heard of her. George
  18. I can picture him. I just don't remember his name. George
  19. Is this an old version of Willy Wonka? George
