"Cars? You brought me here for cars?" "Does that look like a car to you? THAT, is a gold mine I'm handing you on a silver platter." "Forget it; you got no chance." "Now how can you say that? You haven't even heard my ideas yet." "Ideas? Einstein's in the idea business; he makes up numbers so high only dogs can hear them. But what does it cost him? a piece of paper, a couple of pencils." "They *love* the cars, the people! Drives me crazy, that the motor company's dead... They'll never be made!" "We made 'em." "Fifty cars..." "Aw, what's the difference - fifty or fifty million. That's only machinery!... It's the *idea* that counts, Abe... The dream..." "The car of tomorrow... today." "Abe. Gee I appreciate you stopping by. How long you got between trains?" "You like this? living in the middle of nowhere? Cuppa coffee, 2, 3 in the morning, you could die first." "Or you could go into the kitchen and make some." "Who needs coffee, 2 in the morning? You sit down, read the paper, chew the fat with the waitress. Here, you look around, there's nothin' but scenery." "I always thought we're the scenery. How do you like your coffee?" "In the city." "When I was a little kid, maybe five years old, in the old country, my mother used to say to me; she'd warn me, she'd say, 'Don't get too close to people. You'll catch their dreams... '... Years later, I realized I misunderstood her... 'Germs', she said, not 'dreams', 'You'll catch their *germs*'..." "Isn't that the idea? To build a better mouse trap?" "Not if you're a mouse!" George

Yes. Although Jane Badler reprised her 1980's "V" role as Diana in the 2011 re-vamp. "Tina McGee" is a scientist in both "Flash" versions (along with the comic books), though in the earlier series, her character was sort of a cross between Dr. Wells (in the "help Barry figure out his power" sense, not the "kill Barry and his family" sense) and a love interest. Obviously, this older "Tina McGee" won't be a love interest for Barry, but I hope she appears in more episodes. George

Playing the father (or mother) of a character one played in the past is not uncommon, and, of course we see it here with John Wesley Shipp. Less common is playing the SAME CHARACTER, over twenty years later. Amanda Pays reprises her role as Dr. Tina McGee. Hey, I'm a sentimental slush. I love this stuff. George

You are correct (that it's wrong). If the shows were an hour long, it would have been "Pee-Wee's Playhouse 60." George -

Assuming it's the movie Dr. Smith and not the TV actor, I'll say Gary Oldman George -

"Gremlins" I may have used this before, but I love this exchange: "What am I gonna do with you people, huh? I held up my end, I delivered the blue boy. What do I get from my triple threat? "Bow! Yield! Kneel!" That kind of stuff closes out a town." "Why do you say this to me when you know I will kill you for it?" George

Game: Before & After (Movies and TV)
GeorgeStGeorge replied to Raf's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
Close. The second half was an old show from the late 50s. George -
No. Raf was being helpful. Maybe he should have said, "Golllleeee, that's a tough one." ;) George

Recurring characters on this show (not the main stars) included a pre-"That Girl" Ted Bessell, a pre-"Hogan's Heroes" Larry Hovis, and a pre-"MASH" William Christopher. The series stayed in the top ten of the ratings for all five seasons. It was in the top three for four of the five seasons. The lone drop was in season three when they finished tenth. George
