"You shot your dog and had it stuffed? You f---ing freak!" "No, I shot my dog and then brought him home and continued to care for him for the next 11 years until he died of pancreatitis." "What?" "It was a blank, Eggsy. It was a f---ing blank." "I'll have the Big Mac, please." "Great choice. But nothing beats two cheeseburgers with secret sauce. Goes great with this '45 Lafitte." "A classic pairing. And may I suggest Twinkies and a 1937 Chateau d'Yquem for pudding?" "I like it." "I'm a Catholic whore, currently enjoying congress out of wedlock with my black Jewish boyfriend who works at a military abortion clinic. Hail Satan, and have a lovely afternoon madam." "There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." "Merlin said you wanted to see me, sir?" "Sit down. Pretty dog. What's his name?" "JB." "As in James Bond?" "No." "Jason Bourne?" "No. Jack Bauer." "Oh." George

I remember watching LITB when I was a kid, but I don't think I've seen so much as a rerun of it in over 40 years, so remembering the teachers in the show was not going to happen. :) Incidentally, I remember a comedy interview (I think it might have been on Saturday Night Live) with Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow, where the "interviewer" asked Mathers about the rumors of his death. He said he did spread the rumors as a prank, to which Dow responded, "Aw, Beav, why do have to be such a squirt?" Mathers: "Aw, Wally!" New show soon. George

I get the Peter Pan references. It's the officer's stepdaughter part that I don't get. George -

No, though a number of the stars did appear on L,AS. The basic story of the show revolved around an American History teacher at "Walt Whitman High." Starred a pre-"In the Heat of the Night" Denise Nicholas and pre-"Sirota's Court" Michael Constantine. The show featured many actors who went on to become major stars, such as Bruno Kirby, Bernie Kopell, Cindy Williams, Teri Garr, Jamie Farr, Rob Reiner, Anthony Geary, Richard Dreyfuss, Chuck Norris, Kurt Russell, and Mark Hamill. The opening theme song was in the unusual time signature 7/4. George

Assuming that Raf was correct, and that the next line is his clue, I would posit "Highlander." George

And now, they're running "Convergence" (which is sort of a super-hero fight club), soon to be followed by "Divergence," re-booting some hero(ine)s and adding some new titles. Fortunately, the "Convergence" issues each contains a trailer of a "Divergent" comic, so I know which ones to avoid like the plague. Some new "it's a new direction, so it must be good" idiocy includes Jim Gordon in an armored suit as the new Batman* and Superman's identity as Clark Kent being outed (by Lois Lane, no less). I realize that nothing lasts forever in comicland (Superman's death, Batman's broken back, just about everybody else's death); but these are ideas which I hope get reversed quickly. *In Detective 40 (new series), Batman and Joker apparently died in a cave-in. I just watched the animated film "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox." (It came out in 2013.) Very reminiscent of this season's finale. George
