If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound Nothing to eat, no books to read George

"You have been my greatest love. Today, you are my greatest sorrow." "It's still tickin'." "What for?" "Because it tells the time. When to eat, sleep, wake up, work." "You let this little thing tell you what to do?" "Yeah." "My father told me once, he said, "If you see something wrong happening in the world, you can either do nothing, or you can do something". And I already tried nothing." George

Thanks to the latest additions, I assume it's the young man who has played Harry Potter in the recent series. As I have seen none of them, I do not know his name. Human (or Raf, or any lurker, for that matter) feel free to take it. George -

Hazing was far more accepted in the 50s-70s. Then again, one of the chapters of the fraternity I belong to was de-chartered because of an incident gone wrong. (The pledges were to dig a big pit on the beach. It collapsed, suffocating one of the pledges.) That incident provoked a LOT of changes in the national fraternity's codes. This is a bit of a de-rail, I suppose; but I'm reminded of how different individual chapters were. At my undergrad institution (MIT), when I was a freshman, some of the seniors remembered having a lineup, ONCE. In grad school (U of Illinois), pledges were rousted out of bed about once a month, along with other "games." George

I guessed as much. Not helpful, yet, though. George -

There can't be a lot of guys who've played David Copperfield and Allen Ginsburg, not to mention all the others; but I'm not getting it yet. -
Having not actually SEEN a Dragon Ball (or subsequent spin-off) episode, I didn't realize that Goku had a tail, or was based on Superboy. At any rate, you have guessed correctly. FYI, Stephanie voiced the young versions of Goku and Gohan. George

I have no idea what you're talking about, but that's pretty funny! George

In the "Revival and Restoration" thread, WordWolf posted: If one is determined to only find the negative at the GSC, that's what one will find. It's not honest and lacks integrity, but this should come as no shock by now. It's really cute the way these splinters like to refer to the GSC and explain why they're not going to explain. Lots more people got deliverance here and got on with their lives than they've actually HELPED. Perhaps it's "deliverance envy". How many groups suffer, in fact, from "deliverance envy"? George

What a delightful phrase to coin! I'm going to see if "Greasespot Gems" is still a thread. George

Not even close. A the LA debuted in 2003, not 1986. (Admittedly, the Avatar movie WAS critically panned, but it did OK at the box office.) This cartoon first aired in 1986 and spawned three sequels. It was an anime cartoon, based on a series Manga comic books. The title refers to a group of magical artifacts, which, when collected, grant one wish to the holder. Additionally, many short theatrical cartoons based on it aired overseas. A live-action film aired in the US in 2009, with the intention of spawning sequels. Those plans were immediately quashed when the fans of the TV show expressed outrage at the departure from the show's history, and the film tanked at the box office. A personal note: one of my friends, Stephanie Nadolny, voiced two (male) characters for the series and its first sequel. George

That may have been part of it. Wikipedia is rather vague on this detail. George

I do remember that title. I think that I had even planned to watch it, but it was syndicated on a network not provided by my cable company. I had a hunch that the last one involved Highlander, especially because of your Movie Mash-up, but I'm just not that up on all the Highlander lore. New one, soon. George

Having answered one correctly, I have officially taken the round. As much as I'd like to be able to guess the other shows, I don't think I'm going to be able to. (And Human and Raf are MIA.) (B) might be the name of some card in the Major Arcana, although there is no TV show "The Fool," and I'm not going to go through the other 21 cards. (C) clearly involves Musketeers. For some reason, I saw your note about "job title" and was thinking "show title." They were obviously swordsmen, but the only TV show with that name was Chinese. (D) I haven't ignored the quotes; they just don't mean anything to me. "Eternal Thief"? Plus all of the references to spin-offs. I have no idea. George

Some stars of the movie: Michael Madsen, Brad Pitt, Harvey Keitel, Christopher McDonald A "buddy" flick. Ridley Scott was reportedly so amazed with Hans Zimmer's score, that he created a main title sequence (with Zimmer's music over it), rather than giving the main credits at the end, as it was primarily planned. George

OK. (B) has no Zorros. There WAS a show called "Zorro and Son," which could be (A). I know of a number of women with whom Clinton had affairs, but I don't remember who was an actress. Still no closer on (C). I tried googling "Riflemen" without success. George

"Highlander"? George
-
Not really. Although you say that "Musketeers" doesn't appear in any of the titles, it still seems as though (C) could be about the group, as they were in France; and the title has something to do with guns, although they used different weapons (perhaps bow and arrow, though swords seem more likely). As far as I know, only men could be Musketeers, so Karen Cliche's character would have to wear a disguise (a pity, as she's a gorgeous woman). (A) could be something like the son of the Cisco Kid, since it's not about Zorro. (D) might have something to do with (as the show, itself, or one of the spinoffs) "Forever Knight," the vampire cop, but I don't know who the lead actress was (if there even was one), much less any rumors about presidential mischief. That's what happens with Ralph Dibny in the mix. (Of course, Gypsy's dad was a hoot, too.) George

I have no idea. As you point out, all of the shows were short-lived, meaning that (A) it's unlikely I saw any of them and (B) they were not famous enough for me to have heard of them. I appreciate the level of detail you've included in the clues, but I'm still not getting any of them. George
