  2. I was pretty sure you'd know #3. #1 and #5 were both pretty recent, while #2 and #4 were closer to the turn of the century. George
  3. Dan Aykroyd wasn't in "My Blue Heaven." This 1996 movie is based on a 1955 TV show. (Actually, the TV show began in 1948, but the main character first appeared in a 1955 episode.) The only movie, to date, featuring Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd. The movie's closing epilogue reads: "The filmmakers gratefully acknowledge the total lack of co-operation from the United States Army". The star of the TV show was very recently used by WW in "Triple Movie Links." George
  4. OK. Five similar shows. Get at least TWO to win the round. (I expect that WW and/or Raf will get one easily.) Two Secret Service agents (a man and a woman) hunt down supernatural artifacts, neutralize them, and bring them to a large repository. Two Chicago cops ( a man and a woman) track down "links" (folklore monsters which are links between apes and man) and eliminate them. Two cousins (a man and a woman) track down cursed antiques and retrieve them before they can cause harm. Two newspaper reporters (a man and a woman) report on "true" supernatural events. They work for a tabloid, so none of their reporting is believed by the readers. Four people (three men and a woman -- with help from a couple of others) track down supernatural artifacts, neutralize them, and store them in a large repository. George
  5. Translation (if this helps): "Wait a moment, please." "I'm not in a hurry." "Run little rabbit, run." "With pleasure." George
  6. I've got an idea for this one, but I'll have to do a little research first. If anyone else jumps in first, that's fine. George

  11. Well, no, but since it's been several days, I don't mind googling. The Replacements Keanu Reaves Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure George
  12. Sledge Hammer is correct. I never saw the comic, but the "destroyed in a fire" touch is interesting, since at the end of the first season of the show (not expecting a second) they burned down the police station. The second season was a five-year flashback. George
  13. Sorry. At age 26, Alan Spencer was the youngest creator of a network television series. A comic book based on the series was produced by Marvel. It was discontinued after two issues. Originally, the opening credits sequence was to have the star firing his gun directly at the camera and shattering it. But ABC's standards and practices department feared that him firing straight at the camera would frighten some viewers and possibly leave the network liable in case a viewer had a heart attack. A compromise was reached. He would fire his gun slightly to the left of the camera but still shattering the screen. Nevertheless, on the night of the series' debut, a person working for a Midwest ABC affiliate was startled by the opening sequence, panicked and threw on the station logo thinking something had gone wrong with their tape machine. 14. I'm not sure, but she is the actress (Ann-Margrock on the Flintstones). You're up. George
  15. This is a very famous actress, and the roles are from (primarily) her best-known films. Unfortunately, her roles don't have iconic names (except Blanche Dubois, but this was in a TV movie). I have been listing the roles in essentially chronological order, from earliest to latest. Maybe this timeline will help: 1962 Emily Porter to 1993 (and 1995) Ariel Truax. She also voiced a parody character of herself on The Flintstones. THAT name would REALLY give it away. George
  16. Name the actress: Emily Porter Kim McAfee Rusty Martin Jody Dvorak Dallas Ann McCalley Bobbie Flavia Geste Jezebel Dezire Peggy Ann Snow Charming Jones Blanche Dubois Barbara Mitchell Rose Butts Ariel Truax George

  18. Something else about Supergirl: I'm amazed that the President's executive order of amnesty for aliens wasn't overturned in the courts. And now that it's been revealed that she's a Durlan and was not ever eligible to BE President, pretty much every EO should be tossed out. (Even if she WAS Lynda Carter.) George
  19. So, new season. Flash: Wally gone, for all intents and purposes, so now we have XS and a weird family dynamic. And yet another version of Welles. Black Lightning: I still have trouble following this one, but the effects are good. Legends of Tomorrow: I like the addition of Constantine. The stories seem sillier every season, though. I don't mind light-hearted stuff, but not every week. (The first few seasons of Supernatural were good about alternating goofy with serious.) My understanding is that LoT will not be part of this year's cross-over. Arrow: Apparently, we've had enough of flashbacks; now they're all flash-forwards. I admit that it took me a while to get that. I wasn't sure why they had a different, older actor to play William. I hope Ollie doesn't spend ALL season in prison. Supergirl: Certainly the most liberal of the shows. I wonder if it's coincidence that the main alien-haters are all white, and mostly white men. I'm glad that J'onn J'onzz is still a major character, and even goes "full Martian" from time to time. Having Dox as a regular instead of Wynn works for me. Your thoughts? (Or will I have to wait until you all binge at the end of the season?) George

  21. If I'm not mistaken, the product placement was a Whopper. I seem to recall Downey mentioning that he realized he was at the bottom of the barrel while he was eating one, and decided to clean up his act. George
  22. Not to mention that I said "Name the actress" George
