Laura is starting to look a bit Ike-ish, in path and strength. We weathered that one okay, but I'd just as soon see a weaker, more eastern storm... George

Houston's not quite out of the woods, but I don't expect major impact here. Newscasters are noting that the storm surge could be a problem (from Laura); but I'm too far inland for that to get me. Galveston's sea wall should also absorb most of the brunt for that city. Smaller coastal towns (Freeport, etc.) might have a rough day. George

BJ Thomas did sing this song, but he didn't do this version. (No Ooga-chuckas in his version.) George

I suspect that WW or Raf will have an answer. Or, you can Google on Tuesday. George

You don't need to know another MR movie. You need someone who appeared in the BoP movie. George

Present predictions have both Marco and Laura headed for Louisiana. Still, both are 3-4 days away from landfall. George

I wish I could insert a table, her. Anyway, Villain Movie Bond Max Zorin A View to a Kill Moore Emilio Largo Thunderball Connery Dr. Kananga Live and Let Die Moore Franz Sanchez License to Kill Dalton Elliot Carver Tomorrow Never Dies Brosnan Le Chiffre Casino Royale (2006) Craig Hugo Drax Moonraker Moore Francisco Scaramanga The Man with the Golden Gun Moore Gustav Graves Die Another Day Brosnan Ernst Blofeld* Diamonds Are Forever Connery On Her Majesty's Secret Service Lazenby You Only Live Twice Connery I don't count Blofeld's "cameo" in "For Your Eyes Only," because he really wasn't the villain of the film. He was dispatched before the opening credits. I would have gotten Zorin, Scaramanga, Drax, Carver, and Le Chiffre. WW did get one, so, he's up. George

Wind shear is likely to weaken Marco, which is good, even if it doesn't run right over me. George

Incidentally, while it would obviously be cheating to google "Transylvania 6-5000" to look for a link, I would not consider it cheating to guess a link (say, Davis) and google to see if that person were actually in the movie. Similarly, if the last link were a person, I would not consider it cheating to google a movie I thought that person was in, to confirm. George

You could, indeed. In fact, Goldblum and Davis met when filming this movie. George

This part seems very familiar, but I can't place it: 'Cause I still love the little girl I'm talking about I'm in love with the girl I can't live without I'm in love but I feel like I'm wearin' it out George

Fine. Name one. George

Could be. Too early to tell. George

Obviously, I'm more concerned about the one furthest west. Most models, so far, predict that it will miss Texas, but one never knows. George

He's done a lot of horror films, and some parodies, like this one; but he wasn't in this one. One star of this film has done two other ones with Goldblum. George

Obviously, I don't want this thread to come to a screaming halt. Can anyone give me THREE movies/Bonds? George

Name that Actor/Actress (or Role)
GeorgeStGeorge replied to Raf's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
It is, indeed. Except for Bosworth, they've all voiced LL in the cartoons. I knew if I used Erica Durance, Teri Hatcher, Noel Neill, Phyllis Coates, or Amy Adams, it would have been too easy. I might have been able to sneak Bitsie Tulloch through. She would have been in the next tranche of names. George -
I've watched Justice League: War, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, and Justice League:Doom on HBOMax. All faithful renditions of the story lines in the comics. An interesting moment in JL:W is when Diana first tries ice cream and decides it's probably man's greatest achievement. In Super-Hero Girls, Diana has the same reaction, though much more comically. (She basically buries her head in the dish.) George

Let's not forget Aquaman, which was pretty much, Aquaman. Is DC Super-Hero Girls a success? I mean, I watch it; but I never hear anything else about it. George
