  1. Colin Firth was in the Kingsman movies and in The King's Speech, but he wasn't in Green Lantern, Shazam!, or Cruella. This actor is often confused with Stanley Tucci. George
  2. Long enough. The Night Chicago Died I actually had the line wrong. It was "My daddy was a cop on the EAST side of Chicago." Which is interesting, because the east side of Chicago is Lake Michigan. New one (not the first line, which contains the title): "I don't want to be your tiger, 'cause tigers play too rough. I don't want to be your lion, 'cause lions ain't the kind you love enough" George
  3. I just googled "In the Navy." You are correct. George
  4. I don't think I'd consider the Temptations a one-hit wonder... I'll give Human (and Raf?) a bit more time. George
  5. Male actor Green Lantern Shazam! Cruella Kingsman: The Secret Service Kingsman: The Golden Circle Kick-A$$ George
  6. North by Northwest James Mason Georgy Girl George
  7. "My Daddy was a cop, on the south side of Chicago. Back in the USA. Back in the bad old days." This was a "one-hit wonder." Part of the title is in the first line. George
  8. Not close enough. She's not in any of the movies. George
  9. Like a Rolling Stone "My Daddy was a cop, on the south side of Chicago" George
  10. I probably should have come up with an Audrey Hepburn movie. I have no idea who's in The Country Girl (except William Holden, presumably). George
  11. James Gunn was asked on Twitter in 2016 if he had ever seen this show, as it had some similarities in terms of character. He replied that of all television shows, this was the one that influenced Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) the most. When this show was cancelled, the star moved over to Stargate SG-1. The female lead also took a featured role on SG-1. The show made reference to a lot of American folklore. An example is this quote from the main character, when questioned about screwing up the timeline: "Ah, screw it. But I am not Kirk, Spock, Luke, Buck, Flash or Arthur frelling Dent. I'm Dorothy Gale from Kansas." Others: He bemoans the fact that Buffy the Vampire Slayer might be dead by the time he gets back to Earth. He refers to Moya as "the Federation Starship Buttcrack". He quotes lines from Apocalypse Now and Blazing Saddles. He writes "Hi there!" on a bomb he throws, a reference to Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. The show faced the very real threat of cancellation halfway through its first season when its production location, Fox Studios Australia, "forced" them out to make way for another production: Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002). The logistical problems of moving the large and expensive sets to a Stateside location would have been too cost-prohibitive. Fortunately, another studio was found nearby that was able to house the production (at Homebush), and the series was renewed for a second season. Ranked 4th in American magazine TV Guide's list of the "25 Top Cult Shows Ever!" (30 May 2004 issue). Perhaps the storyline (from IMDb) will help: Astronaut John Crichton, on an experimental space mission, is accidentally hurled across the universe into the midst of an intergalactic conflict. Trapped among alien creatures wielding deadly technology and hunted by a merciless military race, Crichton is on an epic odyssey more spectacular than anything he has ever imagined. George
  12. I know the actors. I just can't think of a common movie. George
  13. I've been promoted to rookie. George
  14. I'm a newbie with 19,000 posts... George
  15. Mrs. Robinson "Where it began, I can't begin to knowin', but then I know it's growin' strong." George
  16. "It must be nice to always believe you know better, to always think you're the smartest person in the room." "No. It's awful." "Now, if there's anything I can do for you..." "Well, I certainly hope you'll die soon." "I know you care about him. I've never seen you like this about anyone, so please don't get me wrong when I tell you that Tom, while being a very nice guy, is the Devil." "This isn't friendship. You're crazy, you know that?" "What do you think the Devil is going to look like if he's around?" "God!" "Come on! Nobody is going to be taken in by a guy with a long, red, pointy tail! What's he gonna sound like?" [hisses] "No. I'm semi-serious here." "You're seriously..." "He will be attractive! He'll be nice and helpful. He'll get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation. He'll never do an evil thing! He'll never deliberately hurt a living thing... he will just bit by little bit lower our standards where they are important. Just a tiny little bit. Just coax along flash over substance. Just a tiny little bit. And he'll talk about all of us really being salesmen. And he'll get all the great women." "Ok, I'll meet you at the place near the thing where we went that time." "If anything happens to me, you tell every woman I've ever gone out with I was talking about her at the end. That way they'll have to reevaluate me." "This is more than Nixon ever sweated." George
  17. The HBOMax series Titans comes to TNT network, starting Monday evening. I've avoided watching it, as people have told me it's very violent and full of profanity. I expect that it won't be that bad on TNT, so I'm actually looking forward to it. George
  18. I know it gets hard to keep the threads straight, but this isn't "Three Actors or Three Movies." (Or "Movie Mash-Up," for that matter.) George
  19. I recognize this song, but I thought the title WAS "Round and Round." George
  20. Apparently, it does. :-) George
  21. Raf, What's with the little hand icon by the avatars? Scrolling over them shows that you and I are "newbies" (?) George
  22. I'm not sure if the misspelling was intended (like "Ahhnold"), but it is Holly Hunter. You're up. George
  23. I believe that this will update automatically. Maybe not. George
