  1. I presume that "luxury yacht" is not the same as "luxury liner," e.g. "The Love Boat." George
  2. DC has "retrofit" a number of characters into gay or bi. Jon Kent and Tim Drake come immediately to mind. And almost every new character has to be black (Naomi, the new Batman), gay, or both (the new Aquaman, Nubia). I have a friend who believes that DC (and perhaps Marvel) don't actually care if they sell another comic as long as they can continue to merchandise the properties. Sad, but believable. George PS: Having never read the Eternals, I had no preconceptions about the characters. Maybe that's why I liked the movie.
  3. Sounds just crazy enough to work. George

  7. Before I comment on the season finales of Superman and Lois and Flash, a comment about Tom Swift, Batwoman, and Naomi. The Cosby Show did very well for many years. Although the cast was almost all black, the themes were relatable to most of America. It didn't target a black audience. This latest round of CW shows basically seem designed to appeal to black gays. (Maybe not Naomi, so much.) So, if your audience is ~ 1% of the population, you're just not going to get good ratings. Batwoman made it a couple of seasons, Naomi only one. I don't see Tom Swift being a hit, either. It's almost too bad, because the main story line isn't bad, but when Swift or someone else in the cast isn't railing about social justice, Swift is hitting on every other gay on the show. (And there seems to be a disproportionate number of them.) George
  8. Is that a new song? It sounds like the Jackson 5's "ABC." George
  9. If the other person doesn't want to sell, can your friend sell her half to her? George
  10. The nasty part will be when your friend tries to recoup (at least half) her expenditures from the other person. George
  11. I kept thinking of Pete Best as the fifth Beatle, though I wouldn't have thought of Bill, even had I thought of Billy Preston. George
  12. Sounds like something from "Sweeney Todd"! George
  13. Her flesh was covered by a Harley costume. George
  14. No telling what was meant by the "seven." If I recall correctly, only Moses was called "the man of God" in the Bible. There was an unnamed prophet in the Book of Kings (I think) also referred to as "the man of God." Paul refers to Timothy as "thou man of God." Notably, Jesus is not given THAT title anywhere. (He has to make do with about thirty other ones...) George
  15. I'm reminded of the "The Changeling" episode of Star Trek: "Your logic is impeccable. We are in grave danger!" Well, OK, no danger; but your logic is correct. Clearly, Margot Robbie would have given the game away. Kaley Cuoco, incidentally, voices Harley in the current Harley Quinn cartoon series. Paul Dini got the inspiration for Harley Quinn while looking at a video of Sorkin in "Days of Our Lives," of all places. In a weird fantasy sequence, she played a roller-skating clown. She was the voice of Harley in the "Batman: The Animated Series" show. Arleen Sorkin FYI, Mia Sara was the first to portray Harley "in the flesh" in the short-lived "Birds of Prey" TV show.
  16. Pardon me. I thought it was TV Mash up. It sounded like "Welcome Back, Kotter," which, as I recall, has a sweathogs sequel and a cartoon. And, of course, Kotter was a teacher. Movie? No idea. George
  17. Admittedly, only one of the ladies mentioned above has portrayed the character in live action. There is another, but it will be a dead giveaway. Interestingly, not only has one of the ladies voiced the character, but she was actually its inspiration. George
  18. Adding a couple, including the most iconic (if not the best known) Kaley Cuoco Melissa Rauch Mia Sara Tara Strong Arleen Sorkin Jenny Slate George
  19. John Belushi 1941 (or, I suppose, Animal House) Tim Matheson George
