  1. I'm tempted to say "Star Wars" with Harrison Ford being the actor. Although he's done other kinds of movies, he's mostly an action/adventure hero. It would be hard to see Lee or Price as Han Solo, though; and there wasn't any reference to baseball in the movie. Am I at least on the right track? George
  2. As a long time Reds fan, I remember Pedro Borbon as the closer for the team in the 70s. Manny Mota played for the Pirates and the Dodgers. All this tells me is that the movie was probably from the 70s (which also would coincide with Lee and Price). Was there some sort of horror baseball film? George
  3. Bow-buh-buh-bow-buh-bow-buh-bow-bow Buh-buh-bow-buh-buh-dong-a-dang-a-dang-dang A-ding-a-dong-ding [title] George Note: "bow" pronounced like bough
  4. I believe I've heard of that movie, though I'm sure I haven't seen it. George

  6. Still doesn't ring a bell. I doubt I've seen it. George
  7. I like doo-wop, but this one isn't coming to me. George
  8. Cary Elwes The Princess Bride Billy Crystal George
  9. Unlawful Entry Madeleine Stowe The Last of the Mohicans George

  11. Must be. Some "America" lyrics from WSS: I like to be in America Okay, buy me in America Everything free in America For a small fee in America George
  12. The Miracle Worker? That would be Anne Bancroft (1st) and Patty Duke (2nd) playing Annie Sullivan. George
  13. My problems here are two: At my age, the past gets conflated. I can't remember if something happened in the 80s, 90s, or "aughts." I don't know what pictures were Best Picture winners. Most BP winners were artsy-fartsy films. In fact, prior to this year's winner ("Everything, Everywhere, All at Once"), the last BP winner I saw before it won the award was "GANDHI."
  14. Mamma Mia! 2 had a couple of women playing Sophie, but I don't know if they were nominated for Oscars. George
  15. Reminds me of Land of 1000 Dances (Wilson Pickett); but I don't think this song has enough "na"s. George
  16. Name the actress. Mary Rose Foster Bonita Friml Barbara Stone George
  17. With the extra clue you gave in the Actors and Roles thread, I'm sure #2 is the Joker, with Heath Ledger and Joachin Phoenix winning awards. The two major "series' that I can think of in the 70s were Rocky and the Godfather. I suspect that #1 pertains to a character from the Godfather. Actors could have played an older and a younger version of one of the Corleones. Not actually having seen the movies (except for a few parts), I really couldn't say. #3 is probably also an older-younger duo. George
  18. Just bringing these to one page: Three-part question, and you gotta get all three (otherwise, what's the fun?) 1. Only twice in Oscars history have two actors won for playing the same character. The first time, it was the same character in the same movie series. Name the actors and the role. 2. The second time, it was the same character in different interpretations (one actor's version of the character had no bearing on the other's). Name the actors and the role. 3. There was one instance in which two actresses were nominated for playing the same character in the same movie. Neither actress won, but the movie did very well that night. Name the actresses and EITHER the role or the movie. Q. 1: The awards were given in the 1970s Q. 2: The awards were given in the 21st Century Q. 3: The nominations were in the 1990s
  19. We need a coffee-spew emoji... George
