  1. Still not ringing any bells. Not sure I could name a single actor in any of those films. George
  2. I'm tempted to give it to you. Okay, I'll give it to you. It's actually the very recent prequel, "The King's Man." George
  3. It is, of course, Shane. At the end, Shane rides off slowly. When he is quite far off, you can see him slump a bit. Doesn't look to me that he died, but judge for yourself. George
  4. That explains why I had no idea. Don't think I've heard of it before now. George
  5. Principal photography had been completed in October, 1951, but the amount of coverage shot by George Stevens resulted in such an extremely protracted editing process that the film wasn't released until August, 1953. All this drove up the costs of what should have been a simple, straightforward Western; in fact, they spiraled so much that Paramount approached Howard Hughes about taking on the property, but he declined. He changed his mind when he saw a rough cut and offered to buy the film on the spot. This made Paramount rethink its strategy--originally it was going to release it as a "B" picture but then decided it should be one of the studio's flagship films of the year. This proved to be a good decision, as the film was a major success and easily recouped its inflated budget. Does the hero die at the end? One of my friends says definitely. But that thought had never even occurred to me. The Batman TV show had a character parodying the title character of this movie. That seems to be what Raf (and maybe WW) are hinting at. George
  6. "Reputation is what people think of you. Character is what you are." "I only make decisions when my stomach is full or my balls are empty." "Well, thank God dinner is being served." "Throughout time, our people robbed, lied, and killed. Until one day, we found ourselves... noble men. But that nobility never came from chivalry. It came from being tough and ruthless." "My flock, this will not be the war of heroes. Nations will slaughter each other, while we get rich. This is going to be fun." "We are the first independent intelligence agency. Refined but brutal, civilized but merciless." George
  7. It's "Creeque Alley" (which is why I wasn't too concerned with spelling). Sort of a history of the Mamas and the Papas and the Lovin' Spoonful. Human's up. George
  8. Lt. Barbara Duran Laurie Strode Elizabeth Solley Dorothy Stratten Michelle Cody Ophelia George
  9. Naomi Watts King Kong (2005) Jack Black George
  10. Quel dommage! What are we doing? George

    Rising Star

I prefer "Sunshine Superman." The only song with Green Lantern in the lyrics... Congratulations on your "promotion"! George
  12. I'll give it to you, since I don't know if Eric Carmen recorded a version. It's Dream Weaver by Gary Wright. George

  15. Probably because the title isn't in the lyrics. If WW or Raf doesn't get it, I'll give it to you. You clearly have the correct song. George
  16. Maybe we'll get lucky, and Human will give the answer. George
  17. I'll give the answer if Raf promises to take the turn. George
  18. Me and Bobby McGee This one MIGHT be better in Name that Tune, but I suspect that one of you will get this: "John and Mitchy were gettin' kind of itchy just to leave the folk music behind." George
  19. modcat's hint gives it away. I suspect he won't give the answer. I won't either. George
  20. Akiro the Wizard was what made me guess Mako (from Conan the Barbarian). George
