Reminds me of Land of 1000 Dances (Wilson Pickett); but I don't think this song has enough "na"s. George

Name that Actor/Actress (or Role)

Name the actress. Mary Rose Foster Bonita Friml Barbara Stone George -
With the extra clue you gave in the Actors and Roles thread, I'm sure #2 is the Joker, with Heath Ledger and Joachin Phoenix winning awards. The two major "series' that I can think of in the 70s were Rocky and the Godfather. I suspect that #1 pertains to a character from the Godfather. Actors could have played an older and a younger version of one of the Corleones. Not actually having seen the movies (except for a few parts), I really couldn't say. #3 is probably also an older-younger duo. George

Just bringing these to one page: Three-part question, and you gotta get all three (otherwise, what's the fun?) 1. Only twice in Oscars history have two actors won for playing the same character. The first time, it was the same character in the same movie series. Name the actors and the role. 2. The second time, it was the same character in different interpretations (one actor's version of the character had no bearing on the other's). Name the actors and the role. 3. There was one instance in which two actresses were nominated for playing the same character in the same movie. Neither actress won, but the movie did very well that night. Name the actresses and EITHER the role or the movie. Q. 1: The awards were given in the 1970s Q. 2: The awards were given in the 21st Century Q. 3: The nominations were in the 1990s

One of my old coworkers used to a thin Oscar lineup as a "Marisa Tomei kind of year." Was she good in "My Cousin Vinnie"? Sure, but hardly a star turn. Her competition that year weren't lightweights (Miranda Richardson, Vanessa Redgrave, Joan Plowright, and Judy Davis); but I don't know how good they were in their roles. (I haven't seen any of those movies.) I like her best as Spider-Man's hot aunt. George

Name that Actor/Actress (or Role)

I thought that the 3-day rule applied only to Triple Movie Links (probably because it's the only thread where the poster can't add clues over time). On the other hand, Raf is already counting himself out, Nathan seems to have gone, and it's unlikely that Human will get this without the ridiculously easy names, let me post them. If Human gets it, he can go ahead. If not, I'll go. Jared Leto Cesar Romero Jack Nicholson Joachin Phoenix Mark Hamill George -

I googled Cameron Monaghan's photo. So, yes, I recognize him and I'm pretty sure I know the role. Am I disqualified? George -
Maybe another clue or two? George

It is. "I pity the fool" is often associated with BA Baracus of the A-Team, but that character never said it. (I don't know if Mr. T used it elsewhere.) George

With Ted Knight in there, it has to be a character who would have appeared in a cartoon in the 60s or 70s. That would eliminate, say, Doomsday or Bane. Brainiac? George -
Sounds familiar. George

I stand corrected. To be honest, I didn't check the timeline. I just seemed to remember the TV role first. George

Gonna be correct. George

That line reminds me of this one: "I'm ....ed off now, Jobu. Look, I go to you. I stick up for you. You no help me now. I say "F--- you Jobu", I do it myself." Other lines from the film: "One hit, that's all we got, one godd--n hit?" "You can't say godd--n on the air." "Don't worry, nobody is listening anyway." "Going somewhere, meat?" "About 90 feet." Not the first, not the last of this movie series. According to an interview given by one of the stars, he attended the movie's premiere with his mother. During the scene where he yells lurid remarks at the main character's wife, his mother turned to him and said, "I did not raise you to talk to a lady like that." She then stormed out of the theater. That star was already well-known for a TV role; this was his first film. He uttered a phrase which became a catch phrase for him. Most people associate that phrase with the TV show, but it was never said there. George

No, he was in Captain Ron, but I don't think he was in any of the others. Time to make it easy: Inner Space Cross My Heart Captain Ron Father of the Bride (1991) Mars Attacks! Mumford Three Amigos Jungle 2 Jungle Clifford George
