JavaJane, I am sorry, but your 2 posts after that made it sound as though you were in the "5% minority". Why does that make a difference? Just as a black person can call another black person the "N" word and it's considered a term of endearment. But if a white person calls a black person the "N" word, it's a racial epithet. That is how it sounded...as though you were a minority trash-talking about the "inbred hicks" or whatever. And yes, I"m a little sensitive about this issue because it seems that almost every day, someone is all over the news for saying something derogatory about some group or other. Yet words like Cracker, Gringo, Hick, Redneck and etc. get used all the time and no one thinks a thing about it. And Chaz...I understand the laughing at yourself kind of thing. I can tell you some of the best hillbilly jokes around, but since a lot of my family lives in very poor rural areas (Southern Ohio and Kentucky) it's not done in a mean way. Because of what she posted, I thought JJ was a minority and was saying things in a derogatory way. So even though I stand by the issue that I brought up, I am sorry that I assumed from your posts that you were a minority that was being insulting to rural southerners. Rick

Had a long reply in mind, but it's not worth it. As I said, it was a bigoted statement. Rick

Sorry, but I can't "chill" cause it really ticks me off. After making all these comments about the people she lives around, she points out that she is a minority. So it's OK for a minority to disparage rural southern people, but NOT OK for rural southerners to do the same to other racial groups? Look at what she said in this light: In regards to where she lives, she said: Now suppose a white person moved to a poor inner city area and said:"Man, this place is just full of black dudes that wear their pants halfway down their but. Listen to them, they can't even speak proper english! You just KNOW they're all crack heads and would just as soon shoot a white person as look at them!" Wouldn't that sound racist? That one is so freaking insulting, I'm gonna leave it alone. Anyway, I've made my point. And if JavaJane can't own up to it and wants to remain a racist bigot, she is entitled. I have no more to say to or about her. Rick

So you don't think you sounded like a bigot? You griped about the way they talk, the way they look, said they are all inbred (the entire town...WOW!). What if I made some similar comments about Mexicans or Blacks? You would say I was a bigot. Just something to think about. ***Edited to add...and what does the fact that you "look pretty white" have to do with wheather or not you are a bigot? Rick
-
So do all those inbred white neighbors of yours know what a bigot you are? Rick

Or coated versus non-coated? :) Sounds more exciting than the way's website. Rick

It is not wise to discuss infecting TWI's website with a virus even if you ARE just kidding. That is the WHOIS database, not TWI's server. If they renewed their domain name in 2005 for multiple years, then nothing has changed since then...same dns server, same contact info. Nothing unusual about that. Yeah, their site is pretty lame, but there are a LOT worse. Although with all their money, you would think they would hire a professional developer to do it for them. Rick

Yeah, pm me if you want an account and I will help you get started. Rick

I am also a member and have mentioned the PGR on other threads here. Great group! Rick

If you need to access your pc from a remote location and you have XP pro, you can use remote desktop. Just make sure you change the default port it listens on and use STRONG passwords. I can't emphasize that enough...USE STRONG PASSWORDS! It amazes me how many people I run across who have a live connection (as in always-on, like cable for example) and have a lame password like thier wife's name, or in some cases, no password at all. BIG security no-no! I know, at first glance a password like rl5#54y!0pq_L seems impossible to remember but after you type it a few hundred times, you will remember it. HERE is a Micro$oft article on how to change the port that remote desktop listens on. Rick

Bart picture didn't give it away at all. I immediately recognized all of them. As I said, I'm a REAL Simpons fan! Rick

First one is Hank Azaria, who does Apu, Moe, and Chief Wiggum and MANY others. Second one is Dan(I THINK that's his first name) Castelenatta, who does Homer, Grandpa, Groundskeeper Willie, and MANY others. Third one is Nancy Cartwrite who does Bart, Nelson, and some of the other kids. Don't remember the fourth one's name, but she does Lisa. Then we have Harry Shearer who I'm sure you will all remember as bass player Derek Smalls. :) . He does Mr. Burns and Smithers, to name a few. There are a few others that weren't pictured, including Julie Kavner who does Marge's voice. She was also famous as Rhoda's sister, Brenda. And Marcia Wallace who does the voice of Mrs. Krabbapel. Yeah, I'm a Simpons fan. :) Rick

They all do Simpsons voices. Rick

For anyone with a PDA or Smarthphone, Olive Tree Bible Software has some really cool programs. Some are free, and some are not. I have had the KJV on my Pocket PC for a couple years now. Fast searches, some cool built in tools. Rick

I don't know much about her but was wondering, what is there about that obnoxious windbag that would be political? Is The View a political show or something? I've only seen her a few times when she had her own show. Never quite understood how she could GET her own show. But then, I feel the same way about Oprah, Sally, and all the others. Rick

Yep, that about sums it up. Rick

Rocky, my only point was about the way you came back on Eagle, with the B---S---. I just thought it was uncalled for. You can disagree with someone without "calling them out". I have no problem with anything else in your post. Just the attitude. As far as Eagle goes, I know the dude...even lived in the same house with him for a time years ago. He is a very intelligent guy, and not prone to making stuff up, or posting gossip. And REALLY, if we start making everyone document EVERY single thing they post, Paw is gonna need bigger hard drives. :) I agree completely. When a couple gets divorced, there are always 3 sides...His, Hers, and the truth. Rick

His hair looks just like mine. Only I'm not albino...just old. Rick

Rocky, no matter how you try to spin it, your post was nothing more than pure bullying. Eagle posted something he heard. And you tell him that what he posted is BS? That was your first words to him on the subject of his post. You don't see that as rude and unnecessary? You could disagree with him without the insult. Dude, I'm not saying we have to be a bunch of Pollyanna's but save the nasty jabs for someone who deserves it. Like Groucho when he's railing on Republican's. Rick

Bolshevik and Vickles, I am sorry. I probably shouldn't have said anything on the friend tracker thread. My apology's. Rick

Well, I hope he suffers GREATLY for the lives he ruined. That is all I will say here. Rick

Is that "Reverend" Patterson, who was in charge in Central Ohio in or around 1994? If so, I got a thing or 3 to say to him. None of which I can repeat in mixed company. Rick

Well, he really IS a scoundrel isn't he! Good to "see" you. :) Rick

Uh, who IS this "scoundrel"? Rick
