You know it's funny. I could tolerate the pain a LOT more than the numbness. When it get's so numb you can bang your hand on the wall and not feel a thing, it's pretty much impossible to play. Kinda strange (and sad) that so many others here have the same problem. Waysider, I agree. It gets somewhat better if I quit playing for awhile. But I guess it's an obsession with me cause I just can't go more than a day. Oh well, as B.B. King said, "Ya gotta suffer to play the blues". Although I dont' think this is what he meant. :) Rick

Yeah, I'm not sure my hand could deal with 11's anymore either but I sure love the tone! For the last year I have had a bad problem with numbness and pain in my left hand. Not sure if it's arthritis, carpal tunnel, or just getting old. But whatever it is, it TRUELY both sucks AND blows. :( Rick

I've tried using 9's, but they just don't have enough meat. Too tinny sounding. I use 10's but might even go a little higher. Rick

Gee, I'm sorry about her whole freaking ONE day in jail. A guy I know here in town got busted for something similar about 6 months ago. HE got a 6 month sentence, all but 30 day's suspended (he had to do 30 day's). No work release unless he wanted to make that 30 days 90 days. 3 years probation, couple thousand dollars in fines. He was busted for dui, first offense, and posession of less than a gram of coke. Ah, must be nice to be rich and famous and be able to get away with murder. Rick

So now when someone get's mad at you and tells you to get lost, you can honestly say..."I can't do that!" :) Rick

That was such a messed up post I don't even know where to start. So you have to believe in God to be a good person and treat other people right? You have to believe in God to raise your children to be good people? I think not. See, I'm a Christian but it's those kind of attitudes that give's ALL Christians a bad name. And I realize you said you weren't trying to put anyone down. As I am not trying to put YOU down. Just stating an opinion. Rick

Ah, OK. I know OF the show, but don't watch it. I would know mostly stuff like Sudo posts cause when I watch TV, I usually watch TV Land, or whatever they call the station that shows all the old shows. But more often than not, I will watch Discovery or History Channel. I used to really like A&E but they kind of suck anymore. Rick

I still don't know. Rick

Hey, I used to love the Agnostic table. I thought it was called the Athiest table though. I enjoyed the discussions except for the posters who had to act like jerks. On BOTH sides, not just the Christian side and not just the A* side. Rick

Can this thread even BE off topic? But seriously....all you harp players out there, I gotta tell you that a GOOD harp player is so hard to find that you dang well better advertize! Some of us blues guitar players would LOVE to find a good harp player! Oh, and has anyone noticed that all the google ads on this thread are gay ads? Just thought that was rather hilarious! Rick

To clean out the dust bunnies? Rick

Rascal, my last horse was an Arabian. Very beautiful and intelligent animals! Rick

WOW Bullwinkl! That has always been one of my all time FAVORITE songs but I didn't even know there WAS an unplugged version of it! Great video! Your wife's guitar looks nice! I love the sound of a 12 string! What kind of music does she play? I have some friends here and we're getting ready to do some jamming so I may not see your reply for awhile. Rick

Thanks Waysider. Pomeroy is close to my old stomping grounds, so I'll definetly be there! Let me know if you go, we'll try to hook up! Rick

(looks around nervously)... OK, I admit it. And I'm coming out...as a blues fan. Yes, I tried, I tried SO hard to be a rocker. Hey, I even tried country but something was missing. I just couldn't live the lie anymore, I HAD to be a blues fan. I remember the first time I bent a string...It felt SO dirty, yet SO exciting! Like a kid with his first playboy, I would wait till the wee hours of the night and, when no one was around to hear, I would play my B.B. King records. And try my best to emulate what he was doing on my own guitar. Now, after all these years playing the pentatonic scales till my fingers would bleed, I can say, without shame... My name is Rick and I'm a blues fan! Rick Edited to correct spelling.

Oh MAN, I was listening to Bluseville (XM Radio) and heard a guy named Toby Walker doing THIS . Now, the link I posted is only a 2 minute sample, but that was all I could find. So I just ordered the disc that it's on, called "Toby Walker Plays Well With Others". The whole disc sounds good...can't wait to get it! If you like acoustic blues, I highly reccomend it! Rick

Was Jack Nicholson in it? Rick

Believe me P-Mosh, MOST Christians would ban me also, as I do not fit their description of a Christian. Rick

Once again, I would like to ask everyone here, do you agree with this? That it's perfectly fine to belittle others for what they believe when it comes to spiritual matters? Rick
-
We get it Seth. You think it's OK to insult and belittle other people's belief's. Shows what an a$$ you are. Rick

I really thought you were just kidding around Out There, but I guess I was wrong. Abigail has been around the ex-way forums for a LONG time. At least ever since Mog21 had HIS forum (When WAS that Abi?) She is a very good example of someone who's belief's differ totally from mine, yet I fully respect her belief's and would NEVER belittle them, or say that my belief's are "better" than hers. She has MANY times shown her character here and has NEVER been insulting to anyone who differs from her belief system. So be nice! Rick
-
I should say not! And if it WERE the boy scouts, just how the heck did you get in Abi? I mean, I've seen your pictures. You sure aint' no boy! Just kiddding with ya! Garth, you said: No I don't! No I don't! Na-na-na-na-na! :)But seriously, I DON'T think that what other's believe are lies. For all I know, everything that I believe could be wrong, but it's what I believe. But I'm SURE not going to call anyone else a liar for what they believe. Huh uh, HE started it! Rick
-
And Out There, I dsagree. There is nothing wrong with him starting a thread announcing that he is an athiest. There is also nothing wrong with discussing what he believes or disbelieves. Where he is wrong is his belittleing what other's believe. He is showing what a jerk he is by doing THAT, not by being an athiest. Edited to say THANK YOU ABI! Rick
