Personally, I don't care for goodby threads either. My attitude is, if you want to leave, just quit posting. But I have a question, and I mean it as a serious question. Why didn't we see the same type of comments being made when Cindy posted HER (and Steve's) goodby thread? Just because they were popular? I mean this as a serious question, not to point blame to anyone or anything like that...just curious. And Sudo...could ya please get rid of the annoying sound effect? Sorry but I hate unexpectedc loud sounds when I click a web page link! Rick

Satori, do your firewall settings block cookies? If so, that might be part of the problem. Don't know what firewall you use, but if it allows custom rules, make one for www.greasespotcafe.com that allows cookies and see if that solves the problem. Rick I just logged out and looked around. Whle logged out, I could not see any avatars. All smiley's showed up as img tags instead of showing the smiley. When I logged back in, I could see everything ok again.

One concern is how many simultaneous tracks do you need to record? If 4 is enough, FOSTEX makes a nice little unit for about 400 bucks. Has an internal 40 gig drive, usb out, good quality. Personally, I haven't used any of them. When I want to record, I have an Alesis mixer and record with Steinberg Cubase SE. That's not portable of course, unless you have a good fast laptop. If so, you could get a DI box and download a free program called Kristal Audio Engine that does a pretty good job mixing multiple tracks for a free program. Even has some decent digital effects. Sushi/Abi: I've missed a couple links now on the new board. Seems like they don't stand out as well as they did on the other board. Bolding helps, but even then, sometimes they seem to blend in. Actually Abi, Annie or Fanny was going to be my next question. See, I always thought it was Annie. But if you go to The Band's website, sure enough, it's Fanny. Part of the reason I think is because they are saying "take a load off Fanny"...the f sounds just run together. Well Satori, I was actually thinking more of people who make a number of abusive posts, and then delete them a few hours later before they have had the chance to sober up. Actually, I agree more with your opinion anyway...that people should be allowed to edit their post to infinity, if there is still a gs cafe that far down the road, anyway. :) But then on the other hand, I really DO hate it when a whole entire thread makes non sense because someone deleted every poast they made on that thread. But since I rarely edit posts, I'll leave that up to the rest of you to decide. Either way is fine with me. Rick oops Edited because I can!

I think posting while drunk is one of the biggest reasons AGAINST the edit function. If someone makes an foot out of themself while PWD, then they should have to read it the next morning. Maybe if they see what an foot they are when drunk, they my consider not drinking as much in the future. Rick

O.K. one more quick post. I got a wi-fi card for my pocket pc and had to try posting with it pretty cool except typing with a stylus takes forever! But stiil kinda neet! I tried aol IM with Rafael yesterday and it wors good also. Technology, ya just gotta love it! Rick
