  1. I kind of thought that was the case, but just wanted to hear someone verify it. Thanks! Rick
  2. What I was getting at is, the line walla walla bing bang was put in to kid his uncle who had just moved to Walla Walla Washington. Rick
  3. Skyrider and Coolchef, thank you for your reply's. I understand that many times people make comments like that and do not mean to offend anyone at all, and I honestly think that your comment falls into that category Skyrider. It's just that over the years, there HAVE been many things said about people from farm country that WERE very offensive, but of course, since everyone's cult of choice happened to be in a farming community, it seems to be ok with everyone when those kind of comments are made. Sometimes, I just feel the need to point out that not all country people are fundy &$*#(* types. Again, in retrospectI don't feel that you were trying to slam anyone, it just hit me wrong at the time and I felt compelled to point it out. Igotout said " Geez Rick, lighten up" In other words, Get over it? Maybe I should try that line next time someone is talking about how bad they were treated in the Way. Think that would go over well? (Not that I would EVER do that to anyone...just making a point). No dude, I think I will speak my mind when I feel like it regardless of how trivial YOU might think it is. Rick
  4. I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that! Now, do you know where the Walla-Walla part came from? :) Rick
  5. I read a lot of music trivia stuff. :) Rick
  6. OK, here is the question. Bot's, or spiders, or whatever you want to call them, can they access private topics? The reason I ask is, I have wanted to give my "real" email address to people in PM's, but are they safe from bot's that harvest email addresses? Or can they be accessed the same as any other topic on the forum? Rick
  7. Ah, good tune! And of course EVERYONE knows that his name is Ross Bagdasarian! Oh yeah, you probably know him better as David Seville. :) LIttle Chipmunks Trivia: The names given the singing Chipmunks by David Seville were inspired by real-life executives at Liberty Records: Alvin Bennett (president), Theodore Keep (engineer) and Simon Waronker (founder-owner) . Rick
  8. I was with you up till you made the slam in bold. I grew up on a farm in "cornfield" Ohio. So because of that you think your better than me? Sorry, but I see these kind of remarks all the time on this board. Whenever I see it, it tends to make me want to ignore anything else the poster was saying. Sorry, I just felt a need to point this out. Rick
  9. Wow, I really am not good at this! Never would have got that one! Hey Pawtuckett, I posted a tune just for you on the nostalgia thread. It's a page back now, I guess, depending on how many posts you view per page. OK, I'm gonna keep trying here...not giving up yet! Rick
  10. Well if it isn't country, there was Hook Line and Sinker by 1910 Fruitgum Company. And then, there was Dr. Hook. :) Rick
  11. uh, quilt flag? Cover the flag? Knit the flag? I'm outta guesses? :D Sorry, and when I hear the answer I'll probably be ashamed for no knowing it! Hey Cowgirl, check your PM's! Rick
  12. OK try this one: Well everybody's heard about the bird ! Bird bird bird, the bird is the word ! Still not much better eh? But look at it this way Ron, with all these annoying song's we're posting, everyone else can share in your misery now! Rick
  13. No problem...just replace the song with this one... Everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting.... Oh wait, that one is worse. Sorry! Rick
  14. [quote Pawtuckett Sez: I collect comedy have for decades. I was listening to this the other day and realized, other than the name of the shows, it reflected today's viewpoint. Nah, Sudo. That was a nice gesture but HERE is his REAL pize! I bet he will even know the artist! Now, we gotta come up with prizes for Morgan and Sushi who also knew it! Rick OK, for those of you who clicked on it and got a dead link, I forgot to ftp it to the server. D-oh! Rick
  15. Well, Morgan, Sushi, and Pawtuckett all knew it! It was from Taxi, by Harry Chapin! Rick
  16. Understood George...this CAN be a totally sucky time of year sometimes. Hey, I promised something special a few days back. OK, I"m late, but HERE it is! It's special in that, I would LOVE to have one of these now, all cherried out! And for a little Name That Tune that is related to this video...what song was this from: We learned about love in the back of the dodge... the lesson hadn't gone to far Sushi will know, I'm sure! Rick
  17. Damn, Paw, where did you FIND that? I've been looking for it for weeks to post here! I read the lyrics to it on a website 2 or 3 weeks ago and thought it would be appropriate for the nostalgia thread! Don't know when it was recorded, although it said when on the website but I've long since lost my way back to the site where I found out about it. One of those surfing expiditions where I clicked through a gazillion pages before I ended up there. I DO remember the artist was Stan Freeman, or Freeberg, or somthing like that. Rick
  18. yeah, should have been May, not My. I rarely proofread my posts cause I figure people should know what I MEAN, not what I type! :D Rick
  19. OK, wasn't sure about the rules. What Dreams My Come? Rick
  20. OK, am I supposed to give the answer if I know it, or give clues? For now, I'll just say a really bad Robin Williams Movie. :) Rick
  21. Wow, glad to see all the activity here! Sorry...I have been busy and don't have anything new to post right now, but I have something really really nice for tommorrow! :) Anyway...I'm sitting here working and just had this neat thought....I'm working BUT... I've had my first drink and ready for the second one....this is kinda nice :) I have The Guess Who CRANKED just short of the point of distortion (which is damn loud on my surround sound system r :) ) playing the live version of American Woman...way cool! :) ...and they call this WORK? Rick (enjoying work...what a concept!) Rick
  22. I didn't get that one...had never heard of the movie. But George, that WAS very clever! Rick
  23. I know the name of the group but don't remember the name of the song. Does that give me half credit? :) Oh, and by the way, if I'm correct, it's There's a gun AND ammunition, not WITH. Rick
  24. George: For sure, The Carpenters had a lot of cheezy stuff. But she just had such a great voice...that was what I loved about them! Rick
