OK ChasUFarley...you MUST come back and post!! :) Seriously, do you still play the Flute? Rick

Hey, if flautist means one who plays the flute, nothing wrong with that! Kathy, as I've said many times, wouldn't Once sound GREAT with flute? :) Rick

I sent a question to the seller of the "Gibson" 335, asking what year, where it was made, etc. This is the reply I got back: I like that..."the high exquisite mimicry"! Translation: "It's a cheap peice of crap and we are charging more for shipping alone than what the guitar is worth". :) Rick
  4. Just learned that Buck Owens died today. R.I.P. Buck! I used to watch Hee Haw every week...loved Buck Ownes and the Buckarooos. Sorry to see him pass. Rick

It LOOKS like a Les Paul Studio, but I can't quite make out what it says on the cover plate on the head stock. Right now, LP Studio models are starting at $1,299.00 on Muscians Friend. I'm just not trusting enough to buy it. Like I said, looks too good to be true. But hey, if anyone gives it a go and find out that it's for real, the same seller has a 335 for sale for 0.10 gbp plus shipping! :) Rick

OK, something has to be wrong HERE. Now, I have never bought a guitar from ebay, or musicians friend or pretty much any place on line. Before I buy a guitar, I want to hold it, strum it, plug it in, if it's electric, you know, get to know it before I decide to pay money for it. But this looks too good to be true(which means, it probably is!). So we have a Gibson Les Paul for 9.99 GBP+180 GBP for shipping(outrageous)+5 gbp for insurance which translates to 339.73 U.S. Dollars(based on today's exchange rate). Anyone want to take a gamble? :) Rick

    Machismo

Or you could just look him in the eyes and say "Hey, Maricon, stop the dumb $*@! or I'll cut off your huevos and make you eat them"! Like Diazbro said, I don't think it's a "machismo" problem. I think it's a "Jerk" problem. Rick
  8. If you want to really "mix" your recordings, there is a program called Kristal that is free and really good recording software. I used it for a long time before I broke down and bought Cubase. And yeah, if you need some space for your files, Private Message me and I'll hook you up. Rick
  9. WOW, I'm just reeling from that awsome verbal assault! What a comeback! You might as well have said, "I know you are, but what am I?" Where did you learn how to wage war? France? Dooj, don't confuse the poor boy with facts. He's so brainwashed, he won't hear a word you say. Hey, I'd love to stay and listen to more of your crap Zippy, but I have to go work. If you can think of a better comeback, I'll come back and play more, but honestly, your getting real boring.

I really like some of Zep's early stuff, like THIS one. Also, the Lemon Song, that was good, as was Prison Blues, although Prison Blues is a bit raunchy. Well, by todays standards, I guess it's pretty tame. :) Rick
  11. Well, it's abundantly clear that your clueless, that's for sure! Rick
  12. Sushi, I know you are a Harry Chapin Fan...what are some of the songs you like? Rick
  13. If anybody would be interested, I've been working on Mail Order Annie. I have been one week smoke free, in other words, I quit smoking. I am amazed at how I have better voice control already. Anywho, I have been working on that particular song for awhile now, and well, I still SUCK when it comes to singing, but I'm doing pretty good with that song. Maybe someday, I'll post it here so yo can all laugh. :) But...Harry Chapin...he is the BEST when it comes to telling a story! Man, I am unworthy! (where is the smily of the dude bowing down in praise of a Great One! :) ) WOLD, Taxi, Sequel, and one of my favorites, I don't know the name.....the one that has the line "You brought your Suunday Moring Sunshine.....Here into my Monday Morning Rain"... A beautiful song! Rick
  14. That's too bad that they even have to be doing that. Jim Croce was one of the best. They shouldn't have to be selling videos to stay afloat. Oh well.... I used to have a book of his music...photographs and memories....there were many pics of him and his wife. I wish I still had it. Rick

Just got THIS disc today. Actually, it's one I owned before, but loaned out and never got it back. I've lost a lot of cd's, records, and tapes that way over the years. Freddie King. He was only 42 when he passed away. This song is one of my all time favorites. On the same disc, he does great versions of Dust My Broom, and Key To The Highway Rick
  16. Not a tv or move theme, but definetly nostalgia! I LOVE THIS song! I remember watching Roller Derby when I was young. There was also a Raquel Welch movie that was kind of about it, although a little different. I think it was called Rollerball, is that right? Rick
  17. That has been my question ever since I read the first post on this thread. Rick
  18. A WAR ZONE? Bring it on son! I was verbally cutting little punks like you to shreds when you were still just a gleam in your daddy’s eye! Albeit, from the ignorance you display here, that “gleam” was probably from all the alcohol he consumed while he was conceiving you. Your still wet behind the ears, don’t have a clue, don’t know sh!t from Shinola. Here, I’ll give you a clue. Follow the family mutt around for a day. See that stinky brown stuff that comes out right below his tail? That’s not Shinola, kid! Hey, there's a heck of a lot more I'd like to say, but it would just get me moderated. And a little boy like you ain't worth it. Hey, you brought it on. Let the war begin!
  19. Damn son, doojable makes a mostly friendly post to you, and you turn around and insult her? You really ARE a twit!

THIS song by Albert is, in my opinion, some of his best licks. And Robin Trower, that's a name you don't hear a lot of people mention! Dicky Betts, last time I saw him was at the Hordes Tour in 92 or 93 at Polaris with the Allman Brothers. Thier encore was Whippin' Post and they jammed on it for like 20 minutes. It was great! Of course, MOST songs they do live turn into a never ending jam! Rick
  21. OK, Rascal and CoolWaters. Here ya go! PIECE OF MY HEART

Not at all! I want to hear more about that huge collection you have! Oh, and it was me, not dmiller that has the Soldano/Yamaha. Unless I missed something and dmiller has one too. :) His mandolin IS SWEET though! Rick
