That was a once in a millennium show! Rick

I never had a Charger, but in 77-78 (my last year of high school) I had one of these. Mine was the same orange color as the General Lee. Traded a 71 Ford pickup and a little cash for it. Kept the rebel flag and gun rack that was in the back window though. :)

Wasn't the original King Kong done by RKO? Rick

Dmiller...are they strictly electric? I don't see any kind of body, soundboard, er, anything to really give it tone. Just wondering. Rick

OK, does anyone remember THIS song? Reason I posted it, Hiway29 mentioned a song called Love is all Around. Well, the same artist that did this song did one that I always thought was called Love is all Around, but I found out it's called Little ol' song about Love. It was on the B side of Saturday Morning Confusion, but I always thought it was a much better song. Bobby Russell died sometime in the 90's I think. I can't find ANY of his stuff on CD, at least not stuff that he sang. But even if you have never heard his name, you have heard his songs. Among others, he wrote Little Green Apples, Honey, (OK, I didn't say you would LIKE them, just that you've HEARD them :) ) and the song Vicki Lawrence sang, The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia. Oh, he was also Vicki's husband. One other tune by him that I'd like to post: 1432 FRANKLIN PIKE CIRCLE HERO is a KILLER tune. Rick

Oh crap, I know the song, and I even know the group, but I don't know the name of the damn thing!

The Big Chill? Every time I hear it I think of Easy Rider. Rick

Well, it's too new for me. I have no clue. Rick

Every time I think of Ummagumma, I think of all the hours I spent in uh, altered states of mind listening to Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Groovin with a Pyct. And actually finding meaning to it.

Hey Ninteen came out on Gaucho (I THINK that's spelled right!) which was the next album after Aja, Tom. Rick **EDIT** Here ya go...everything you ever wanted to know about SD recordings. Oh, and I DID spell it right! :) http://www.steelydan.com/lyrics.html

I always heard about the Burn the Chaff thing. Never went. I would never burn something that I loved because some jerk told me to. But then, as some of you already know, I was a bad little wayfer. :) Rick

Hey Jonny! If your interested, I have one of these that I hardly ever use. In fact, it probably has less than 5 hours total use since I've owned it. Thought I would use it a lot, but I don't use many effects, so it just kind of got put on a shelf. The modulation effects and the delay are great. The different overdrives are also pretty cool, and I think your son would like playing with them. The reverbs suck but I'm spoiled by long spring reverb so maybe I'm just a reverb snob. The noise supression is good, the compressor is just so-so. The expression pedal has some neat settings (voice in particular gives some cool sounds). It's stereo, so with the right setup, you can get some good stuff out of it. It even has a rotary effect which is pretty cool for those of us who can't afford a genuine Leslie. :) If your interested, let me know. It's just collecting dust on a shelf right now. Rick

You know, I guess it's cause I just don't even think of him as being "around" anymore. I mean, I know he's still alive, but you just don't hear much about him anymore. He did some stuff that I thought really sucked in the late 80's, then him and Crazy Horse went on tour again, and that is pretty much the last I've heard of him. Oh, Wasway...on this board you just come out and answer it. So name the tune and the artist if you know it, then post another one for us! And by the way, the lyrics sound like a good idea to me. Rick

Neil Young was great! One of my favorite songs of his is on Rust Never Sleeps. It's called Thrasher...great song! OK, here's one: The Cuervo Gold The fine Colombian Make tonight a wonderful thing
-
But George, that's the whole point of the song. The foolish things that a man will do because he's in love. I know I have done some pretty foolish things cause I thought I was in love. Notice I said "thought". I thought I was in love once. Turned out, it was just indigestion. Cowgirl, the first version is the best simply because Bonnie Raitt is in it. She is one of the best slide guitar players in the world! Rick

Tom: The prices that MF charges, my buddy here locally will match. Have to pay sales tax so a "little" more than MF, but I have the joy of "trying" before I buy. I will buy some things from MF, but I can't imagine buying a guitar that I haven't held in my hands, and played before I decide to buy. You can take any 2 guitars, made on the same day, serial numbers matching beside each other...and they will not sound the same. Not to say one is "inferior" to the other, just that they will not sound the same. I want to hold it in my hands, and feel it up, and generally, get to know "her" before I buy her. I think most of you here are musicians, and can relate. Although, some would probably not referr to the Ax as a "Her", maybe a "Him". And that's OK too! :) Rick

MAN!!! Mr Young was GREAT! Rick

Man, I can't even describe the tone I'm getting from this!!! I still have the Yamaha T-150...The Soldano design. I have Mike's email address, and am going to find out how much he will charge to mod it for me. Probably WAY more than I can afford! :( Oh, and to answer your question ChasUFarley, I'm working on Tin Pan Alley. SRV's version. (OK, I have High Hopes, All Right??????? :) )

I had to look that up Sudo, but yes, that was the company that did the movie you were referring to. Cowgirl...that's all there is. It's the little thing that plays before the movie starts, like the MGM lion or the THX sound. Moony, I don't know, but I'm sure I'll watch a dvd in the next few days from that company and then I'll tell you. :) Who do you think it is? Rick

OK, so I go to the local music store today to get a new set of strings. I promised myself that was ALL I was going to get. Well, I get there and since I'm working out some tunes that requires a GOOD wah pedal, I started looking around. Played with a couple cheap ones. Told myself, Hey Rick, a cheap one is good enough for now. Did I listen to myself? Of course not! So I decided to buy THIS one. OK, so I spent a hundred bucks. And I STILL need a set of strings. Well, on my way up to the counter to pay for it and get my strings, I made the mistake of walking through the amplifiers, telling myself, Now Rick, you're just LOOKING, not buying! And I was OK...I really was good. Till I saw THIS. Well, I decided to ask if I could hook up with a guitar off the shelf and check out the sound. Telling myself, now Rick, your just gonna play a little and check it out, then buy your pedal and your strings and leave. I played exactly 4 notes before I knew it was over. There was no way I was going to leave the store without it. I am very dangerous in a music store with money in my bank account! The worst part of the whole story is, I got home and as soon as I got there, I remembered I didn't get the damn strings! Rick

Although I like Bon Jovi, I gotta agree with George! Rick

Nope, not that one! Rick

Universal Studios. How do I know? I just watched a dvd a few nights ago and recognized the music, so I put in the dvd and checked. Yeah OK, I cheated. BUT...I didn't Google! OK, try THIS one. Rick

They were still called the Quarrymen when they did I Saw Her Standing There? I didn't know that! Rick

Download a program called Hijack This and copy and paste the results in a Private Message to me. I'll take a look and see what might be wrong. Rick
