And the show's name is......
-
OK, here is a trivia question. I really can't remember. What old sitcom had a character who used the expression "Great Ceaser's Ghost" a lot? Oh, and I'm a Believer was an Anthem for the drug culture? I was heavy in to the drug culture and most people I know kinda made fun of the Monkees. Of course, my druggie years didn't start till about 1974. Rick

Good song Tom! Mr. Tanner by Harry Chapin. Rick

THERE's the problem...the electricity was turned off. Once again, there are many problems that can prevent you from viewing secure sites. Go ahead and try the system restore. If that doesn't work, let me know. BikerBabe...lynx and archie and gopher...what fond memories! Have you seen X-Windows running KDE or Gnome yet? Pretty nice! Rick
-
It sounds like your problem is with secure sites in which case, your isp will be of no help. The bad news is, there are a gazillion different things that can cause that. Check the obvious first. Your machine was recently compromised. So check the date and time...make sure it isn't set to some bogus date as this would cause site certificates to not work. If all is well there, then click start, point to run, and enter sfc /scannow. If sfc finds any corrupted files, you will need your windows cd, so have it ready. When finished, reboot. After rebooting, click start, point to run, and enter regsvr32 softpub.dll. After you get the OK dialogue box, reboot. Then try to visit a secure site. If you still have problems, there are a bunch of other files that may need re-registered. Let me know, and I'll post them. If all else fails, you may try a repair or reinstall if IE 6. Or you could say the he11 with Micro$oft and install free-bsd. :) Rick

When I posted before, I had not thought of hermaphrodites. Barring that, what doojablen posted was what I was thinking. Rick

...and Bluzeman got it. :) Rick

OK, maybe I'm a little slow but, if you are not male and you are not female, what are you? Rick

Uh, The Patriot was the Revolutionary War. Rick
-
Chic-a-boom(don't you just love it) was done by a one hit wonder(to the best of my knowledge) called Daddy Dewdrop. I still have it on a 45 although I haven't owned a turntable for more than 20 years. I tried to find it, or at least the lyrics on the internet a while back and can't find any mention of the song. Rick Wordwolf, if you have all the lyrics, would you please post them?

Tom, is that the "clear light" that falls on the "window pane"? Rick
-
The fender on the surfboard looks to be a Jaguar, which was the most popular guitar for the surf music genre. (Is surf music it's own genre?) Rick
-
Uh, the Tornadoes were the first british group to have a hit on the AMERICAN charts, but it was with the song Telstar. Rick OK, we were both right. Sorta. From THIS SITE
-
If I mentioned the first one, then I'm at a loss. But the second one, that's easy. Pipeline, by the Ventures. Rick
-
Wasn't Snuffy's son named Tater? Sudo, I like the tune you posted, and it sounds familiar, but don't know who it is. Rick
-
Yup! Great tune! Your turn, QuietThinker! (Ands props to Tom, who also knew it. And Wasway, even if he did "google" it. Just Kidding, Wasway dude! Rick(Who is WAY too old to be using a term like "props"...but I'm pretending to know what the current slang means  )
-
Quite a few. :) Name it if you know it, no one else seems to have a guess! Rick
-
No guesses yet? Once I met the devil He was mighty slick Tempted me with worldly goods Said -you can have your pick
-
The lyrics you all have been kicking around reminded me of THIS song. Now, this is by Randy Travis and "Somebody". This being the guitar thread, at about the 4 second mark, when you hear the first lead lick in the intro, most of you will probably recognize who that "Somebody" is. :) Rick
-
Damn, thats a great tune Sushi! Never heard it before. Rick
-
The version of Telstar that Sudo posted was the Ventures version. I like the Tornado's version (the original) better. Rick
-
Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June In a Kenworth pullin' logs Cab-over Pete with a reefer on And a Jimmy haulin' hogs :) That would be Convoy, by CW Macall By the way, some interesting stuff I found about the band Coven a while back when we were discussing it on the Nostalgia thread. I alway's liked the singer's (Jinx Dawson) voice, and wondered why I never heard more of them. THIS page would seem to explain why. And if your interested enough that your still reading click HERE for a page about Jinx. I've been down so low Bottom looked like up Once I thought that seconds saves was enough to fill my cup

Telstar by the Tornados. I believe the Ventures also did a recording of it. Trivia time...the Tornados were the first British group to have a record hit number one on the charts. (From Ask Mr. Music) Rick

Well, the first one is Peggy Lee. Will have to listen to the second one a little closer, but I think I know who it is. Haven't listened to the third one yet, and I'm on my way out the door to pick up my new laptop. (YAY!) Rick
