OK topoftheworld, I guess I no longer have th mp3 of Shooting Star. So we need to get you posting! Does your copy have the opening dialogue, where she talks about meeting Harry Chapin for the first time, and all that? Rick

Oh, heck yeah, waysider! Would love to have you join us! I LOVE 12 bar blues with a good harp player! OK, the story there is, when Cynthia and I first got to the bar, we met a couple in there who said they had been talking about going to the concert too. Actually, I think we were on a first name basis with the whole bar before we left, but that's just the way we are. We're just friendly like that. :) Anyway, this woman had uh, you know, like breasts that HAD to be bought and paid for. (If so, I'd really like to meet her doctor and shake his hand cause he did a FINE job. ) So Kathy and Cynthia are talking on the other side of the table, and she walks over and starts talking to me, and sat down on my lap. I was VERY good...I looked her in the eyes the whole time. (uh-huh, SURE I did.) Rick

Oh, and I forgot to mention this. Cynthia is, among other things, my singer. Haven't even mentioned this to Kathy yet, but I told her that Kathy is also a singer. So she said yesterday that we might just have to pack up the PA and a couple small monitors, some mic's, amps, etc. and head to their place and record a few things. Sound good Kathy? :) Rick

Man, what a night! Me and Cynthia got in town about 3 hours early and called Kathy to ask where a good club is in that area to meet up. They don't go out much so I ended up going to a bar close to a place I lived 18 years ago, that was only about 10 minutes from the venue. Kathy and her husband are nice, down to earth kind of people folks! We all had a great time! I don't think Kathy stopped dancing from the time the concert started till it ended! :) Scotty Bratcher was just incredible! I heard conflicting stories, some said he's 18, some said 19. No matter, he's too damn good to be that young! He did Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) and did it justice! I was very impressed. Now Buddy Guy, well, he's just one of the masters! What else can you say? One of the few of that "old breed" bluesmen, that are still with us. He kicked a$$. "Damn Right I Got The Blues!" Yeah! The highlight of the evening was when he was walking through the audience. He came to me and Cynthia and stopped and I gave him a very quick and light pat on the shoulder(he was surrounded by security of course) and told him how awesome I thought he was, then he turned and played right to me and Cynthia for about a minute. Later I'm walking to the john and 3 different people stopped and said, Hey, you're the dude that was on the monitor! So guess that was my 15 minutes of fame. :) Oh, and I forgot to mention...he wasn't playing his black start with white poka-dots. He was playing a WHITE strat with BLACK poka-dots. First time I've seen that one. OK, so this summer, I've been to the Blues festival at Mohican State Park, CSN&Y, and Buddy Guy. Gotta get on ticketmaster's site and see who's next. :) Rick

Well based on this part of the song: So we talked all through that afternoon Talking about where we'd been We talked of the tiny difference Between ending and starting to begin. We talked because talking tells you things Like what you really are thinking about. But sometimes you can't find what you're feeling Till all the word run out. So I asked her to come to the concert. She said "No, I work at night." I said, "We've gotten too damn good at leaving, Sue" She said, "Harry, you're right." Don't ask me if I made love to her Or which one of us started to cry Don't ask me why she wouldn't take the money that I left If I answered at all I'd lie. I'd say they did a little more than just kiss. I have a tribute to HC done by Pat Benetar somewhere. If I find it, I'll post it. Rick

I'm not sure WW I don't use it. On my FreeBSD machines I use Evolution which is a pretty good Outlook clone but only available for *nix...no windoze version available. But I would almost bet that the ability to integrate email with all the other office products would not exist. Again, I don't use it so I'm sorry, I really can't give any solid answers. Rick

I missed this. Run for the Roses...Dan Folgerberg GREAT song! Brings back some very sweet memories! Thanks! Rick

I can give you some space on my server. PM me if you want, and tell me what you want for a username and password. Sending files to the server and linking to them is not hard at all. Kathy has taught some people in the past, and of course Sudo has, as well. I'm sure that one of them would be more than happy to help you get started. Rick

OK, the original version of this song is old enough to be nostalgia so it's appropriate for this thread. Click the "play" button in the middle of the box.

Hey Sushi, HERE is another good live cut by Harry. And since we heard Taxi, guess we should hear THE SEQUEL. Rick

Yeah, OE is part of the OS, but she said she is using ms-office outlook. There ARE a lot of computer shops that will sell you pirated stuff. If I catch one doing it, I will turn them in in a heartbeat. NOT because I have any love at all for Micro$oft, but because it makes all of us in the business look bad. Personally, I keep hopeing that the combination of X-Windows, Open Office, and *nix will eventually take a BIG bite out of the big blue monster. Rick

If it's your XP CD key, or office cd key, you can find it with Magical Jelly Bean's Keyfinder. Download it HERE. Edited to say: Even if Office was pre-installed you should have still received a certificate of authenticity that has the cd key on it. It would be in the docs that came with the computer. Rick

I agree with coolchef. And that "Meet your Meat" thing is nothing but propaganda from PETA, an organization that I truely despise. Rick

My Mom shops at Wal-Mart. Growing up (and most of MY growing up years) she was pretty poor. Enough money to make ends meet (most of the time, at least) but not much more. Recently, she, along with her sister, received an inheritance that pretty much set her up for the rest of her life, and I'm happy as hell for her. But she still shops at Wal-Mart. And saves coupons. Matter of fact, I was talking to her one night last week, and she was getting ready to go out shopping and I mentioned that she sounded so tired, why not wait till the next day. Her reply? "But the things that I need won't be on sale after tonight." God Bless her, even though she doesn't have to be anymore, she's still frugal as hell. :( Do you realize how isulting that is to probably MILLIONS of people, Belle? Rick

I remember watching that and it was one of the most exciting things I had ever seen. Except I watched it at home cause it was in July and we weren't in school. But the TV you mentioned...We had the same TV you are talking about in school. :) Hooked up to something that would receive PBS and not much of anything else if I remember correctly. For about 25 bucks as I recall. Uh, I mean, so I was told. Rick

Keep in mind that if services are running for these malware programs, the removal software will probably not be able to remove them. Install the programs, update them, and then reboot in safe mode. To do this, when the computer is booting up, and you are still on the black screen where it is detecting your drives and such, start tapping F8 and keep tapping it till you get a boot menu. Then select safe mode from the menu. Good luck! Rick

Although I agree with you about TS being faster (given a good fast connection on both ends) you CAN do this very easily. But it has to be set up where in TS, it just works. (Well, most of the time. :) ) Rick -
Ya'll are good! Rick

Give your love to me and I'll shower Your heart with tenderness endlessly. Did no one ever tell you the facts of life? Well there's so much you have to learn. And I would gladly teach you if I could only reach you And get your lovin' in return. Rick
