I have heard second or thirdhand that Rosalie has made the statement that one of her goals is to get HQ to the point where they are not dependant upon the income of the Way of the USA to be sustainable. Now while that sounds like an admirable "corporate CEO" type of statement, when you dig down into it it is somewhat alarming. First of all, in the broadest sense the only reason for the existence of TWI is a service organization. Yes, Biblical RTF of course, but we've already seen that those 3 things are really not the focus or even a reality. Research - non-existant, Teachings - highly organized but scripted and dull, Fellowship - secondary to political aspirations. So the original tenets of why TWI made sense aren't really holding up - that the basic Christian church was not really teaching people the Bible. Of course that was always somewhat of a sham, and it rode in on the naieve attitudes of the hippy culture and has hung around. Even in Jesus own teachings, he who would be greatest let him be servant to them all. So in other words, you can measure the value of an organization by the amount of service it provides people. And in TWI's case, the focus over time gets gradually less and less towards serving people and more and more towards building political infrastructures to ensure the ongoing existance of the organization. In other words - the focus is self-perpetuation. They are not serving people, they are being served by people. Micro management doesn't serve the lower ranks, it uses the lower ranks to serve the higher ranks. All of TWI is built in this fashion. In reality, TWI is an antiquated vehicle. It has no real Christian purpose in a modern world. It has grown into the ivy towers where dull denominational traditions rule over believer's deeply springing powers (from the inspirational poem that VPW plagiarized along with so much else). This is why they are seeing attrition. The attrition is basically hidden and masked by R^pp who teaches all his direct reports to lie about numbers and require "approval" by the Way of the USA before saying it's OK to remove Johnny Jumpup from the rolls even though he's only been to 1 fellowship over the past 2 years. They lie about numbers to protect their positions - as if people leave they blame the lowest level of leader they can get away with blaming. Usually that's Way Corps as they have little leverage over a fellowship coordinator. The Corps should wake up too - how much of your life is controlled by someone labeling you a "status"??? I am going to respond to this by making up my own "status" for the directors - "clueless". Do you want a truthful picture? Blame the highest level of responsibility for the attrition. People leave because you, Rosalie, are not doing your job. You are not leading TWI in a strategic direction that leads to growth. And your lap-dogs on the Cabinet are smooching your behind because they know you are a monster and will axe them with little provocation. You are a retired schoolteacher in a CEO position, without the training or experience to even know what strategy looks like, little less execute on one. And when you retire, there are more clueless morons waiting to fill your shoes. So stop blaming other people, and look in the mirror. That's where the problem is. It can't be fixed. The best thing to do is to let natural progression follow its course and watch it die on it's own momentum.

If she wants to discriminate against obese people maybe she ought to unhitch that caboose first.

Do you owe The Way International "back tithing?"
chockfull replied to OldSkool's topic in About The Way
In retrospect, I owe the Way International back invoices, not tithing. -
It was a secondary lawsuit filed after the Allen lawsuit. January Barnes Parker - Barnes was her married name - she was a cute blond. They were on staff at HQ - her first husband Gary Barnes was the Rock of Ages coordinator for many years. She was a stewardess. Forehead had a relationship with her. They filed a lawsuit alleging quid pro quo sexual harrassment, which was more than a hostile environment as it was alleged it was in exchange for advancement in position of employment or a condition of employment. As it followed the Allen suit closely, Rosalie was already primed for payouts. Their marriage split up over it, and she remarried. I'm not sure what happened to Gary after all that, although suffice it to say he left the Way over all that. This lawsuit didn't have near the publicity or focus the Allen lawsuit did. But it was another in a long string of similar patterns.

In-residence Way Corpse "training" (next best thing to incarceration)
chockfull replied to OldSkool's topic in About The Way
Billy, the difference is that Jesus Christ was the genuine article. He was not a sham minister calling micro-management godly and political personal gains God's will. He was the one that taught by their fruits you know them, not by words. You look at the fruit of the direction of TWI. Biblical research, teaching, fellowship. There is no research, it is quashed. Old publications are set forth as truth and enshrined, because there is no inspiration in developing anything new. Teachings are not inspirational, they are dull and lifeless. Fellowship is subservient to position - it is fake. People trade in their whole lives, positions, careers, family all to follow an ideal that is no more than a house of cards. For Jesus Christ, any price would not be too high to pay. For Rosalie and Donna, who currently call the shots at TWI, any price is too high to pay. The fruit of their lives, and others like Rupp, are so far from that of Jesus Christ that it takes a real blindness not to see it. But go on, toe the party line, live the lie you've built up for yourself being "faithful to your calling" as a Way Corps minister. And when you stand before Jesus Christ and he exposes the lie for what it is, then you won't be able to say nobody ever warned you. -

The Pancakes group has much more substance. I remember eating there as a kid. Mmmmmmmm. Chocolate chip pancakes. Raspberry syrup. Mmmmmmmm. -
I only have anecdotal information. I do know that in AZ at an event I did not pay sales tax on bookstore purchases. I do know that in another state I did. When I asked about it that's what I was told. I can only surmise that AZ has different non-profit state laws that make it compelling for TWI to register there as a corporate entity, but not in other states. It is pretty clear from the Ohio Sec. of State documents that they are incorporated in OH, and their main entity has not switched over to AZ incorporation in 1980.
-
From my understanding they do not do this in every state, but in some states their state bookstore is a seperate incorporated entity. This allows locals to purchase books without paying sales tax.

Here's the link to the Secretary of State of Ohio filing page: http://www2.sos.state.oh.us/pls/portal/PORTAL_BS.BS_QRY_BUS_FILING_DET.SHOW?p_arg_names=charter_num&p_arg_values=204759 On the Allen lawsuit, I understood that liability insurance they had on the Forehead covered this, minus a deductable. However, there was a subsequent breach of contract lawsuit TWI filed after the Barnes lawsuit because their insurance company dropped them like a hot potato after the Allen lawsuit.

Why would anyone be retarded enough to name a cult after the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) ??????????? -
The Way International's yearly theme and you.
chockfull replied to OldSkool's topic in About The Way
I have heard secondhand that she has said directly that one of her goals was to get TWI where they were not reliant upon the ABS of the USA. Which kind of makes it an investment company instead of a Christian ministry, no? -

Those posters are the ones that look like a cartoon version of "Planet of the Apes", right? -
How Many People Accepted or Knew About the Sex Stuff?
chockfull replied to JavaJane's topic in About The Way
Yeah. I'll pass on that one also. -
The entire organization is not incorporated in AZ. The main US branch is incorporated in OH. You can obtain this same report from there, albeit not online and it costs $$. The AZ filing is to maintain a non-profit bookstore there. To do that they need to file a basic P/L or balance sheet.

Yeah, could go hang with Dog the Bounty Hunter and do some meth head rehabilitation. And surfing.

That so makes me want to vomit. I remember those teachings. I had repressed remembering the "yes ma'am" one. Rupp is so gross. Prostituting himself for power like that - how could anyone do that and still retain any vestige of self respect? He reminds me of that term they use "fag hag", except with the genders reversed. I don't even know if there's a name for it. It's just nauseating, disgusting, vile, making me want to lose my lunch. Like eating at a greasy dive with dirty bathrooms. Like talking with a toothless old prostitute. Like sitting down for lunch at a meth house. And yet he is the face of the Way Foundational Class. Mr. "Chocolicious". God - if Rozilla ever runs out of gas and he comes into power - run for the hills if you're in. Someone asked about Platig. He was replaced by Rupp. Rozilla effectively just decided she didn't want him as VP any longer. She made some comment to the Corps about how "it's not necessarily a lifetime position", about the Trustee / Directors. Right. Unless it is her. My suspicions from secondhand uncorroborated accounts I'm privy to is that he was replaced as he started to waver on toeing the party line on the debt topic. Rupp was Trunk Coord. Harve was VP over Way of USA. Harve was demoted to Region Coord. Rupp was promoted to VP and a Director. All basically on Rozilla's decision - never any voting potential on Directors, especially when they are populated with spineless wonders. Growing a spine = being demoted. Anything except a complete prostrate position and developing a vocabulary that uses the word "wonderful" exclusively is a career limiting move.

Yes it does. Financially alone it has wiped out my savings many times. They pay for very little - Uhaul and truck. Then there is all of the emotional hardship. And it's hard on families. This is another way they exert influence and control. By moving people around, there is a disorientation period, where their new "overseers" are many times the only firm fixture in a sea of change. That tends to foster a real dependant relationship - more control. I used to dread and hate the whole placement period of time. Every time I was up for a move consideration I would feel at times like someone was walking on my grave. Weird, I know, but that's the best way I can describe it. If you stay in your assignment and stay off the radar then it's a little easier on you. Then they also started denying you access to your Corps files, so you couldn't see what BS they had written about you in them. They used to mail them to you after you were graduated for 10 years. I'm sure more recently they have been used to amass trumped up "evidence" to protect them in case of a lawsuit.

How Many People Accepted or Knew About the Sex Stuff?
chockfull replied to JavaJane's topic in About The Way
I had absolutely no knowledge of any of this until the scandal broke. I remember Rosie the Riveter confronting all the Corps at that AC Special and wondering what the h3ll she was talking about. Looking back over the entire time in the ministry there were a couple of indicators of things that were a little "weird" in some behavior I saw, but in the mindset I was in I just dismissed it. I never personally ran into any of that stuff. I never engaged in it. Even after the scandal I'm sure I handled it in robot fashion. I know I put it together that the Forehead F'd up, but never put it together that it traced back to the Vicster. I was unaware of the adultery paper or anything surrounding JS until Greasespot. I even stayed away from here for a long time, but first read the PooP paper. Had heard it read before, but never saw it in print to the point of perousal. Even after reading that I just thought CG was kind of a wacked out dude strung a little too tightly. It's kind of weird reflecting. It's like I just never connected the dots in my brain. Things didn't "click" for a long time. Then eventually they did. In retrospect, I was very, very, very naieve. And thus used like a pawn in someone else's chess game. -
Yeah. That was the Forehead. And if it wasn't, he'd yell at you to fix it.
-
geisha, They quote those same versus while behaving delusionally. They change the scriptures from being a source of inspiration to being a mind-numbing mantra to chant. And they can't see it - they are blinded. I think that is key to understanding the behavior. Many of these people desperately need to make up an alternate reality for themselves, because if they didn't they would realize that their life s4cks. This in reality leads me to think of them in general more akin to Christian Scientist than Christian.
-
I remember a high level Way cronie teaching other people and correcting them saying the Word says that at the bema there will be no consequences, only rewards. Which I noted a marked distinction between that and talks of works being burned in Corinthians. And I even thought then that was his coping mechanism for acting like such a d0uch3bag as much as he did.
-
If I remember correctly he was forced into retirement at a certain age, maybe 65?. He probably would have one h3ll of an age discrimination lawsuit potentially, especially with Rozilla's subsequent moves to set herself up to stay in power until Strom Thurmond's age.
-
L3nder has leeway because he knows where all the bodies are buried. Rozilla is well aware of the political implications and potential legal exposure that sh1t-canning him would bring. Although being a control freak, I'm sure she mutters to herself continually over the moonlighting. I mean, how dare someone have areas of their life that she can't control!
-
I agree, OldSkool. I can have a positive attitude and expectations WHILE STILL maintaining a realistic outlook and analysis of situations. I do not need the delusions of false visions. I have seen such stupid, stupid decisions made by people over years in business, health care, friendships, and roommates over this type of delusional BS. I do not discount the power of positive thought and confession for changing one's circumstances, but so many times I have seen it lead people to confuse the action they must take. They grow to think that the repetitive religious activity of confession is action, when it no more will improve a situation than mindlessly repeating a mantra, Buddhist chant, or rosary will.

That other Christians including my own extended earthly family were somehow inferior. That it is excusable behavior for TWI leadership to act towards other human beings worse than anything you'd experience in a normal society or business because they are "called of God" or "ordained of God". That they deserved my money. That they deserved my loyalty. That they ever had my best interests in mind.
