Yes, I do it. From my perspective, I was led into that experience prior to TWI in a denominational church, and that aspect of my prayer life hasn't changed dramatically prior, during, or post TWI. I just view it as a part of my personal prayer life, and since it does involve some praise, that's a bonus. I personally feel that some of the mechanical way it is executed in TWI, with the mandated times, lists, etc. that you SIT for is an abhorration. To me it is a natural augmentation to praying with understanding and flows exactly like that. The amount of time I 'stay my mind' on world peace or whatever topic or need at hand and SIT for it does not decrease or increase God's power to deal with it. So yes. I do it. How much? Who cares. Nobody's keeping score and neither is God.

The way I feel about that is they don't own the city you live in. If they don't like it they can leave. If they harass me or my family I'll get a restraining order. There is no possible way I'm going to let those clowns intimidate me to the point that I'd consider moving. They are the ones that are deluded, so let them be the ones that are intimidated.

Amen, brother. I remember a decent rock band from Michigan in the '80's. Heirborn. They were in the music challenge. I used to have one of their cassettes.

The Illuminati runs the government behind the scenes. We were in Viet Nam to protect Roman Catholic real estate interests. The whole topic of Israel and the anti-Semitic BS there - the diary of Anne Frank was a forgery, 'The Myth of the Six Million', etc. Oh, and from the Forehead: The Word is Over the World

Yeah, really. You would think though that 'Colombo' eventually would do enough 'investigating' to come to the conclusion that his clients there are scum. But I'm sure that $250/hr or whatever his billable rate is alleviates that pretty quickly. Your ABS at work!!!

Oh, I'm sure the local brainwashed idiots have been told enough lies about me that they would freeze up like bad pipes in Minnesota in winter if they ever ran into me. I've actually heard some of the lies repeated to me. They're hilarious! And actually that's where those dumb-@$$ leaders better watch their P's and Q's because some of those things are legally actionable as libel if I didn't have too much of a life to waste it pursuing after Rosie the Riveter and her closely guarded stash of wealth. I'll just bide my time and have a grand old time watching these people answer for their actions at the bema or wherever it is that God who is just will require answers for actions in the next heavens and earth.

Awesome story, Steve. I never heard any bad press about D&D, and enjoyed playing it growing up. A group of us in our church youth group in high school would play it in our church basement, sometimes all night! That always gave the church ladies something to talk about, but our pastor was cool with it. That game was probably the predecessor to most of the modern role-based video games, including World of Warcraft, the most popular. Come to think of it WoW are the commonly used initials of that game. I'm sure TWI could get some mileage out of that!!!

Because yellow of course is coincidentally the same color as egg yolks.

Geisha, I'm not going to get on you for sharing your Christian experience. It's a genuine experience. I am genuinely happy for you that you have found a genuine small group of Christians that you can rebuild your life with and relationship with Christ with post TWI. It sounds to me like your church has been a vital step to you in your recovery, and you are a proponent of that type of relationship to others because it's helped you. Those are good things. -CF

Ah yes, the madam of Cabin 12.

Yes, no problem. On the Death Star, they were the ones that wore the army-like looking outfits, would order Storm Troopers around all the time, and answered "It will be done, Lord Vader".

I remember when they showed that in the Adv. Class alongside the film 'Staying Alive 2' and the dance clips. To show the 'genuine' and the 'counterfeit'. Too bad I never got to run the Adv. Class. I would do EXACTLY the same thing, except that I would show Athletes alongside Richard Simmons workout videos.

It could be worse. Their spiritual authority figure could wear tights and a rainbow headband. Oh, wait a sec.....

You see, that's just how cults get started. A little plagiarism, a little taking credit where it's not due - it just goes downhill from there. Next thing you know there's fake degrees and circus tents.

Yes, agreed. Actually at one point reading 'The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse' in the section they are describing Pharisees, it totally was line for line the behavior of the BOD. I started checking out also some of the manners and customs books on Pharisees. It's really interesting. One example - where Jesus confronts them on the korban - or not taking care of their elderly parents because the money was a gift. The Pharisees set up internal barter systems like that to exempt themselves from tithing on goods, from being taxed on goods, and from laws like that. It totally reminded me about how Frau Q and the Panamanian dictator move more and more to use others to do their dirty work. They set up an inner circle within a circle. The Cabinet is like that. The BOD is like that. No more direct contact. They have others slaughter the scapegoats.

This is true. Except for them being my defintions. I cut and pasted them from dictionary.com. I do have mad <ctrl-v> <ctrl-c> skillz though.

No problem. I'm over the argument. I think that some of our disagreement is due to using the same terms to talk about quite different things. I started a couple threads to clarify terms and facilitate the free exchange of ideas around it.

Of course there are other types of humorous definitions of people assembled together as well - like this quote below: "I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace, that two are called a law firm - and that three or more become a Congress." John Adams

Is it always easy to tell where one ends and the other begins?

OldSkool, dictionary / concordance definitions are a great thought - with such broad definitions it keeps things on at least a broadly accepted terminology level. Here's dictionary.com's full definition: church –noun 1. a building for public Christian worship. 2. public worship of god or a religious service in such a building: to attend church regularly. 3. ( sometimes initial capital letter ) the whole body of Christian believers; Christendom. 4. ( sometimes initial capital letter ) any division of this body professing the same creed and acknowledging the same ecclesiastical authority; a Christian denomination: the Methodist Church. 5. that part of the whole Christian body, or of a particular denomination, belonging to the same city, country, nation, etc. 6. a body of Christians worshipping in a particular building or constituting one congregation: She is a member of this church. 7. ecclesiastical organization, power, and affairs, as distinguished from the state: separation of church and state; The missionary went wherever the church sent him. 8. the clergy and religious officials of a Christian denomination. 9. the Christian faith: a return of intellectuals to the church. 10. ( initial capital letter ) the Christian Church before the Reformation. 11. ( initial capital letter ) the Roman Catholic Church. 12. the clerical profession or calling: After much study and contemplation, he was prepared to enter the church. 13. a place of public worship of a non-Christian religion. 14. any non-Christian religious society, organization, or congregation: the Jewish church. –verb (used with object) 15. to conduct or bring to church, esp. for special services. 16. South Midland and Southern U.S. to subject to church discipline. 17. to perform a church service of thanksgiving for (a woman after childbirth). Huge scope present in the definition. I'm not personally acquainted with any of the verb uses, but they are interesting.

I just started a thread on this, actually.
