  1. Here's a link with different Solstice traditions. http://www.schooloftheseasons.com/celsolstice.html My own personal traditions for Solstice include having like-minded Pagans over, we each bring an ancestral dish (I do the Irish Colcannon), exchange gifts, and enjoy each others company around a bon-fire on Solstice night. Before leaving New Orleans, a dear friend would have a Winter Solstice breakfast where we gathered before dawn, broke bread together, exchanged gifts and had divination. It was a wonderful time with many Pagans from various traditions but Winter Solstice was a common Holy Day for all of us. Where I'm living now, most Pagans are in the closet and I've only met 4 here. There isn't even a Unitarian Church in this town. Many Christian Churches to choose from, but no other temples, synogogues, etc. So I had Solstice at my house and had 2 of my Pagan friends over (they moved up here after Katrina also). We had a good time.
  2. Well Belle, that's a mighty fine looking cuppa! Thanks! If ya have the time to try that cranberry sauce recipe, it's well worth it.
  3. For Yule Dinner we have Roast Turkey, Baked Ham, homemade macaroni and cheese (Kraft has nothing on my mac and cheese), Oyster Dressing, Green Bean Casserole, and my Killer Cranberry Sauce. Pies as pralines also. If anyone is interested in making their own Cranberry Sauce, it's well worth the few minutes it takes. Killer Cranberry Sauce 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 navel orange, 1/2 tsp. ginger, 4 cups cranberries, 1/2 cup (2 oz) toasted pecans Directions: Grate the orange peel and add to a pot with the sugar and ginger. Add the juice from the orange into the pot and simmer over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved. Add cranberries and cook until they pop, about 5 minutes. Add pecans and cool sauce.
  4. Hello, it's Stephanie here. My family and I (12 of us) have moved to Northwest Louisiana in the last year. Not gonna flood again...had enough. Steve and Theresa are in Washington. MaryJane, her husband and their 2 sons are outside of Dallas, they haven't been with TWI for decades. Melanie and her husband are still living at Way headquarters. Their son started college this year, but I can't remember where. It's not a Way College...if any still exist. Melanie recently lost her Father, Mr. Lloyd. He was a great man and great Father. And yes, I'm Wiccan...have been for quite some time, gone back to my original roots and happy. I'm more than willing for any of you to pray for me, as I believe all folks, regardless of religious persuasion or lack of, need prayers. And NO, I don't worship Satan. He isn't even part of my Pantheon. Oh, AnotherDan, please tell Steve and Theresa hello and Happy Holidays for me. Steve and I were once engaged...long time ago. He's a good man and I'm glad that he and Theresa are still together and happy.
