I remember in the posthumous "Turn Your eyes Upon Jesus" when Wierwille shared his disdain for a woman (Bathshebah) complaining of being raped is when a big light bulb went on over my head. How hidden to me was his wicked leaven, but that particular one helped me lay it all at Wierwille's feet, not the mythical bad guys that the supposed good splinter leaders had many of us blaming. "Posthumous bread" with wicked leaven.

I can't help but respect a guy, who having said such a stupid thing to a stay at home mother of four, can own up to it.

 Thank you shellon..... But as with TWI, I fear Barnard has done everything he can to try to manage this situation somehow. He is a very persistent bird.

Time and time again I have been amazed at the single minded dedication that Victor Barnard kept a lid on the people and events within River road fellowship. So I am fully well aware that for all the predictable threats and gnashing of teeth that IMO Barnard and his chief thugs must have done since they kicked me out it is very likely that V.Barnard has some kind of control over some of these folks. And he might have his diseased hand still controlling to some extent even those that are moving to other states. He told the church that, "you won't like life very much if I loose my camp" about the time that the leaders were also afraid of being sent to jail because of some kind of skirting of loan rules when they bought the camp they later had to sell. So I have many things to find out before I can say with surety that Barnard's twisted influence is gone for good, but a guy (me) can hope. (Yes..sigh..edited for spelling and grammar)

From everything that I have heard here at GSC the mental pressure and indoctrination was as thorough and as intense as anything that happened in TWI at the root locales among TWI staff. Lives were twisted and broken across the board. For anyone leaving RRF there is no telling how much help they may need to get on with their lives. (edited for spelling)
-
IMO the sooner that RRF and all of Barnard's words fall to the ground, the better for everyone who is/was involved.
-
Yes, Jean was used as an example of being one with Barnard in loyalty as her "True Man" as opposed to the "fleshy husband." His oldest daughter was one of the ten maidens. He thought to hamstring me while I was there for quite some time too. (edited for grammar)

Time and time again I have been amazed at the similarities between my former splinter group and TWI. Many of my experiences as a part of River Road Fellowship have paralleled many of the abusive, twisted and cruel practices many of you have had in TWI. But this thread is not about TWI, it is about the current happenings in my former splinter group and the events currently going down. Now while I can not guarantee any of you as to exacting parallels between TWI history and RRF history I think many of you may be able to relate to what my old abusers and my old friends are going through. From time to time I will update this thread so that if any of you happen to come across any of these folks by chance, you may know where to direct them or what they need. MY FORMER SPLINTER GROUP IS BREAKING UP. But even though my friends among the locals see things, everybody that is a part of RRF is being relatively tight lipped, according to my friends that is. Some folks are going back to Pennsylvania, where Victor Barnard himself recruited them in order to "stand on God's Word" with him until Christ returns. I do not know if this includes the very man who told me to "F" my then recently deceased Grandmother in a fit of rage or not, the very same one who told me, "You are not welcome back in fellowship until you resolve this shameful situation" on the very day he moved my wife and one year old child out of my house. I do not know if this includes another man who suffered his wife telling him that Victor Barnard was the "true" father of his four daughters, the very one whose oldest daughter signified her lifetime commitment to Victor Barnard by saying in fellowship, "I'm married to the Christ in Victor." I heard that the man who fired me from my job a couple of days after they moved my wife and child out of my house is moving to Alaska and is sending his younger son to college. The thing is I will never forget how this slime-ball canned me with a smile and a handshake. It would be much better for him if God doesn't pay him back for the damage he did to my life and family. His oldest daughter was the first of the ten young girls who made lifetime commitments to Barnard, yeah, good luck keeping your family together Randy. I am most concerned for the "Ten Maidens" as they were called. These girls were led to make lifetime commitments to Barnard while they were still in their teens, or their twenties. One of them came from Brazil and in order to stay in the country RRF fellowship had to tell the INS that she was a in a religious cloister similar to a convent. Her commitment was to remain celibate and loyal to Barnard. There are many people who I counted as friends still in RRF the last I heard. And I have heard from a couple of reliable sources that some people are moving to Alaska, Pennsylvania, and Florida so far. And both of these two thought that some people were staying around Finlayson, Mn. too. And both of them said that for all the foreclosures on property, auctions, and moving going on with RRF folks that everybody is being tight lipped about what really is going on, no surprise to me. I will update this as I find out more, just in case it may help a few get help who are leaving River Road Fellowship. (added in editing) I guess Christ did not come back in 1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, uh er.....make that 2011...yeah right. Barnard is batting ZERO so far. I guess they were not attacked by the government or the locals as Barnard predicted in 2001. I feel for the many sacrifices people made in order to be with Barnard, including....I am not making this up.....abortion. At least one couple was being pressured into giving up their son for adoption too.

Lot's of red flags for me too waysider. The ones that gets my goat the most right now is the old Way Corps mindset of, #1 Leaders have ALL THE AUTHORITY. #2 Leaders have ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY, #3 Leaders own the "volunteers" (note the 24/7 part.) #4 Leader need feel no sense of responsibilty to the "volunteers" for what the volunteers give up to participate. Gee, I don't F'in care what anybody thinks of the JUNIOR GRADE COMMANDANT, this system is bad and prone to go abusive....period.

"Where'd they all go?" Dear TrustAndObey, would you like the official TWI party-line pat answer to that or something more closely approximating reality? hehehe
-
Hey Bishop, Would you be willing to start a thread or go along with a thread about this sentiment of yours, maybe in the "doctrinal section"? I would hate to distract further from this thread by keeping the conversation going here. IMO this has potential for another thread. JEFF ALTHOUGH, THE VERY FEAR OF BEING POSSESSED BY DEVILS HAS CAUSED MANY PEOPLE TO STAY IN TWI. Maybe this topic should be worked into this thread.....HHHMMM.

I sure wish you the best Copenhagen. My splinter group has caused several divorces by teaching that the uncooperative spouse is devilish, unbelieving, or even antichrist, etc. etc. And since I came to GSC it is very plain to me that TWI has proved itself all too good at coming between couples when one of them does not want to toe the line, and in like manner with my once-upon-a-time splinter group. And I do believe that because of the long practiced TWI leadership mindset of catch'em and keep'em that any spouse in your situation is facing an uphill battle once leadership has a hold on one spouse's loyalties. I feel for you and support you 100% Copenhagen. (edited for spelling) TWI, can't live with them, can't shoot them.

Dear Erkjohn, Thank you for saying you were not offended and for whatever it is worth, I did not assume that you were at all. But because of your first response and the reason for some of it seemed like you might have taken my post in a way that I did not intend I felt I should make sure we were straight. In a perfect world I think that we all could just be straight about things if the topics or posts offend somebody. At least that gives the ones with friendly intentions the option of working things out IMO. Plus, I believe communicating on a web-site by text makes it even more difficult to know how something was meant. Simpler if we just decide to ask and work it out. Concerning sociopaths..... I think anyone who has been around one and ended up feeling the complete and udder disdain they carry for relating to people as anything other than a tool to be manipulated would understand that being a sociopath is not an excuse. In my mind a sociopath is is a very, very nasty bird.

Sure, if you don't mind my computer bewilderment.

I am not not much of a posting partner. I'm wondering if I didn't blow it by claiming I know how to quote. I can be downright incompetant in such things even. But thanks, I'm laughing too
-
That's ok, I don't know how to post a link but I can quote. HAHAHAHAHA
-
They promise you liberty, but they themselves are the servants of corruption. (added in editing) It's not a quote on my part but I'm betting most Wayfers know where that one has been written.

Sometimes when the wayfers or any other group's followers boldly and aggresively shove their supposed forgiveness in my face while still unrepentant stirs up a little emotion. Sometimes it is sorrow for them, sometimes it is frustration and anger. But having been a wayfer once it is painful to recall the times that I did the very same thing while deceiving myself into thinking that claiming my forgiveness was independent of having a real change of heart because of some of the TWI doctrines and practises mixed in with my own human failings......sigh. (edited for grammar and clarity)

Well, in other situations folks boldly proclaim that God will heal their kids because that was group doctrine. And sadly, they often have their kids then die because of lack of medical treatment. I tend to think about what it may take to snap them out of the spell that their groups put them under through false prophecies and spiritual lunacy before it is too late. But then, some of us didn't learn before the lies cost us something too.

As far as all the exhortation from the old days, Oakspear, that is why I think the exhortations to "toughen up", "be fully committed", or "simply stand" are the most damaging. Folks are thinking they are or have stood for God but all they really succeed in doing is keeping their place in line while awaiting the slaughter. (Feel free to supply your own slaughterhouse mind pictures.)

All the contents of this thread (Thank you Skyrider and Krys especially) along with this one post (Thank you now I see) I think explains more of the TWI breakups than anything I have ever read. How can perverted, twisted folks like very top TWI leadership do anything else besides see the benefits of scattering like rats and keeping TWI splinters seperated and at odds with each other. @#$%^&*! Yeah TWI splinters, just keep your lasciviousness hidden until the day the Lord rewards you all as promised, you bastards. But in the meantime, I am very thankfull that heart rending stories like this can be read by all. At least it can help to snap some out of the flames, I hope. THANK YOU GREASESPOT CAFE! (a little added for clarity)

Thank you for the link JustThinking. :)

Well the fact that they stay may be influenced by the fact that TWI is the one that taught them the values they hold to. Rosie Frankenspinmeister!?
-
This is all that I know Waylaid. LCM was accused of adultery with a married woman and this proved to be a disruption. And considering how TWI has either spun things or diligently hid them it seems it would take a trustworthy ex-innie to expound on the events. I was not there and am not even an advanced class grad, but I do think it is most likely that I am better offf for never taking the advanced class. Imagine, TWI was suppose to teach people how the father of lies works. I have learned more by learning how TWI operates than anything they ever taught in the class I'm betting.

My first post in the "New Members" section included me saying that I was thankful for PFAL and Wierwille. It took a few folks who shared their experiences in TWI with me before I could even start to see what TWI was. And it did not take long before my splinter group experience and the conclusions that I saw for myself about the splinter group aided me in seeing that contrary to what I believed before GSC, TWI was rotten and it's rottenness was a direct cause of my former splinters rottenness. But in my splinter it was common to speak highly of Geer and to speak badly of TWI proper and by implication it's current president Rosie. So I have enjoyed this thread because I never even saw a picture of her before I came to GSC and this thread has been informative if nothing else. But I do believe that in whatever particular manner our splinter groups and former splinter groups tie the loyalties of their followers into TWI (No matter which self-promoting former TWI leader we have been taught to honor) that there must need to be deception of some kind behind them in order to maintain our loyalties to TWI. And it is interesting to note that most of these splinter leaders and of course TWI's current pres. only seek loyalties to them and must need to disparage and discredit the other group leaders. So if you chose to be loyal to a splinter IMO whether you know it or not you have only succeeded in picking your own poison. Just one more thing, everything that I have seen from Bishop so far has been cool. He's stated how he feels and his TWI perceptions, as I did not so very long ago. And I agree with Wordwolf that he has not been offensive or abusive one little bit. From what I can see his level headed approach to everything on this site so far is something that I can respect and I only wish him the best.
