Thanks, Kathy! I'm always lurking - some of the clips are hard for me to listen to or open, but it's always been an interestesting thread!

OOHHH! OOHH! OOOHHHHH! GUESS WHAT?! Hubby's getting me a bass amp for Mother's Day! I think he's getting me a little Crate amp - whoo-hoo! I've been using his little Peavey Ultra combo amp (30W, I think...) but couldn't turn it past 2 or 3 for fear it would blow a speaker - so he's getting me my own amp this weekend! YIPPEE! I'll post more about it when it gets here - I'm excited! Oh, no... I just realized something... I've caught the disease... I've got... Gear Acquisition Syndrome! OH NO!

I'm suprised that Chris is gone, but when you think about the demographics of the viewers and the music-styles of the performers (not to mention their potential audiences), then it makes sence. Chris appealed to those who like bands like Fuel, God Smack, Goo Goo Dolls, RHCP, etc. - harder, more edgy stuff. He probably got the 30+ audience of old rockers, those who were into grunge, etc., but not much more. The rest of that audience is now mostly Taylor's and Elliott's. Taylor will be next, I think, because he doesn't appeal to teeny boppers, for the most part. He has a diverse following, but won't be embrased like Kat. I think you'll end up with Kat in first, then Elliott. Just my take on things... But - I do think you'll see a lot more of Chris, and very soon - he already has a record deal http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12729017/

Did any of you guys get to see the memorial/tribute that was done for George Harrison? It's available on DVD, and called "A Concert for George". It's one of the few concert DVD's worth buying, in my opinion. It's just rich with musicians and performers - one of the best gatherings of musicians I've ever seen! Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Sam Brown, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Joe Brown, Jim Capaldi, Dhani Harrison (George's son - good guitar player in his own right), Marc Mann, so on.... Even Ravi Shankar's other daughter, Anousha (sp?) plays sitar at the beginning of the concert - she's absolutely incredible! (Norah Jones is one of Shanker's daughters, as well). Absolutely the best music on DVD - I love watching this! The concert was organized by Clapton and Harrison's son, Dhani - you just gotta see it, if you haven't already....

I knew it wasn't the Jackson 5 song - different song. But in all honesty, I didn't know the artist... Does it count?

WHY is this guy really in the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List?? Let's look at who else is on the list and what they are accused of: USAMA BIN LADEN - MURDER OF U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; CONSPIRACY TO MURDER U.S. NATIONALS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES; ATTACK ON A FEDERAL FACILITY RESULTING IN DEATH JORGE ALBERTO LOPEZ-OROZCO - UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - MURDER DIEGO LEON MONTOYA SANCHEZ - CONSPIRACY TO IMPORT AND POSSESS WITH INTENT TO DELIVER COCAINE; POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER COCAINE; MONEY LAUNDERING; RACKETEERING INFLUENCED AND CORRUPT ORGANIZATIONS (RICO) - DRUG TRAFFICKING; CONSPIRACY TO DISTRIBUTE OR MANUFACTURE COCAINE ABROAD WITH KNOWLEDGE OR INTENT THAT IT BE IMPORTED INTO THE UNITED STATES JAMES J. BULGER - RACKETEERING INFLUENCED AND CORRUPT ORGANIZATIONS (RICO) - MURDER (18 COUNTS), CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT EXTORTION, NARCOTICS DISTRIBUTION, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MONEY LAUNDERING; EXTORTION; MONEY LAUNDERING ROBERT WILLIAM FISHER - UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - FIRST DEGREE MURDER (3 COUNTS), ARSON OF AN OCCUPIED STRUCTURE VICTOR MANUEL GERENA - BANK ROBBERY; UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - ARMED ROBBERY; THEFT FROM INTERSTATE SHIPMENT GLEN STEWART GODWIN - UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID CONFINEMENT - MURDER, ESCAPE RICHARD STEVE GOLDBERG - SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN (PRODUCTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY); UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - LEWD ACTS UPON A CHILD (SIX COUNTS), POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY (TWO COUNTS) DONALD EUGENE WEBB - UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - MURDER; ATTEMPTED BURGLARY WARREN STEED JEFFS - UNLAWFUL FLIGHT TO AVOID PROSECUTION - SEXUAL CONDUCT WITH A MINOR, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT SEXUAL CONDUCT WITH A MINOR; RAPE AS AN ACCOMPLICE So, Jeffs is really on the same level as Bin Laden? Really? Gimme a break! Who did he .... off? It's got to be political - it smells like another Waco thing to me... The guy has less offences than what many of the high-profile Roman Catholic priests who were jailed for sexual conduct with minors - I mean, c'mon. No, I'm not saying what this guy did is acceptable - nothing of the sort - he should be punished. Absolutely. But to be on the Ten Most Wanted? I'm curious to know what else is going on to put this guy on the list... this will be a good one to watch....

Socks -- The 12-string gig went very well. Hubby may have additional gigs off it with a small country recording studio here in NH over the summer as a hired gun. Of course he's tickled pink - I guess some student's dad is a manager or something. Anyhow, even the kids thought the 12-string thru the Prosonic was pretty righteous sounding... I wanted to go but couldn't make it. Incidentally, it was also hubby's b-day - I think it was a special day for him - it's not often that the school asks him to join them for things like this and he felt honored they had asked him. I just got a new little toy today we're going to play with. Are you ready for this? It's an iTalk - connects to an iPod for recording, but this has a pre-amp feature and a jack input. Hubby is going to put an adapter on his DigiTech and connect it to the iTalk, then connect the DigiTech to the guitar to record to the iPod harddrive. Should be interesting... I'll let you know how it goes. So far I'm really impressed with the iTalk - great sound for such a little mic!

Dark Side of the Moon is a teenage rite of passage. Every teenager, especially boys, seem to go thru a Pink Floyd stage. Perhaps it appeals to the "angry young man" - who know - but it will always be discovered like no other generation ever knew about it before. The Wall, Animals, Dark Side of the Moon, et al - what great music! I still have the vinyls of those - don't want it digital. Pink Floyd is HI-FI stereo at its best - not digital, thank you.

Since Cowgirl is in Canada, perhaps saying that "Ciao!" is the same as "Au Revoir" will communicate. Eh?

Interestingly enough, it seems that TWI is now getting ready to release apologies to certain people in certain areas. Catcup has just started a thread about it. I agree with Dan, et al - good posts. They're just going thru the motions like a sorry hung-over abusive husband on a Sunday morning after he's beat the crap outta his wife for the umpteenth time. "Gee, I'm so sorry. I love you. Please come back." "And did I say 'I'm sorry'?" As usual, they're just wasting their breath...
-
This is just another sign of their illness. They don't look at how they can change to attract people. They're hoping that just by saying they're sorry, that people will flock back to them. It reminds me of an abusive marriage relationship where the abuser thinks he or she is still loved by their victim just as long as they apologize and give the victim gifts or whatever - but then continues to slug them every time they loose their temper. Did they consider banishing the M&A or debt policy? Are they going to apologize and accept homosexuals? (I didn't say accept homosexuality - there is a difference.) Are they considering changing their leadership structure or personnel? HECK NO! Business as usual. Sorry.

Well... maybe I'm showing I have no life by posting on an American Idol thread (just the main one, thank you), but you're REALLY showing you have no life when you're busy speculating of how many there MIGHT be before the season ends! Raf, you should really get yourself a girlfriend.... Disclaimer: This post is posted in this forum in all fun and with no ill-will. Yes, that's correct! Sink The Bismark Lyrics In may of nineteen forty-one the war had just begun The germans had the biggest ships That had the biggest guns The Bismark was the fastest ship That ever sailed the seas On her deck were guns as big as steers And shells as big as trees Out of the cold and foggy night Came the british ship the Hood And ev'ry british seaman he knew and understood They had to sink the Bismark the terror of the sea Stop those guns as bid as steers And those shells as big as trees We'll find that german battleship That's makin' such a fuss We gotta sink the Bismark 'Cause the world depends on us Hit the decks a-runnin' boys And spin those guns around When we find the Bismark we gotta cut her down The Hood found the Bismark and on that fatal day The Bismark started firin' fifteen miles away We gotta sink the Bismark was the battle sound But when the smoke had cleared away The mighty Hood went down For six long days and weary nights They tried to find her trail Churchill told the people put ev'ry ship a-sail 'Cause somewhere on that ocean I know she's gotta be We gotta sink the Bismark to the bottom of the sea We'll find that german battleship That's makin' such a fuss We gotta sink the Bismark 'Cause the world depends on us Hit the decks a-runnin' boys And spin those guns around When we find the Bismark we gotta cut her down The fog was gone the seventh day And they saw the mornin' sun Ten hours away from homeland The Bismark made its run The admiral of the british fleet said Turn those bows around We found that german battleship And we're gonna cut her down The british guns were aimed And the shells were comin' fast The first shell hit the Bismark They knew she couldn't last That mighty german battleship is just a memory Sink the Bismark was the battle cry That shook the seven seas We found that german battleship Was makin' such a fuss We had to sink the Bismark 'Cause the world depends on us We hit the deck a-runnin' and We spun those guns around We found the mighty Bismark And then we cut her down We found that german battleship Was makin' such a fuss We had to sink the Bismark 'Cause the world depends on us We hit the deck a-runnin' and We spun those guns around We found the mighty Bismark And then we cut her down George - your turn~
