  1. Office Tel (called, per your latest hint) Rwanda A Fish Called Wanda (??) (It's sorta a stretch isn't it?)
  2. WayferNot -- GOOD for you! I'm glad your story had a happy ending. Maybe you can help me with my Circuit City bill that wasn't supposed to drop for 90-days, that I received 35 days after the date of purchase.
  3. Why do you have to act like you've discovered something new in your diaper, even though you're almost 18 months old now, everytime I change it?
  4. Having kids is like being pecked to death by a duck.
  5. Someday your baby brother will be as big or bigger than you. He will remember what you just did to him. Just because __(insert name here)_______ does it, doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do. Just because it's green, it doesn't mean it's a vegetable. It's okay to eat something that's green. Honest. Not everyone who speaks to you is really your friend.
  6. Mommy has to pee. I will only be out of your sight for 30 seconds. Do you think that you could not scream and beat on the bathroom door the whole time I'm in there?
  7. Satori gave me an idea for this thread. Much like his thread, please keep your posts to questions or statements about things that you wish you could get your kids to undestand. It can be about anything - happy or sad. But there's no need to expound on why you're posting about it - you can bullet you posts, or whatever. If you NEED to talk about what your posts or statement to your kids, please do so in another post. By the way - it doesn't have to be to your own biological child - it could be a step-son or step-daughter, student, niece or nephew - you get the idea. In keeping with my rules, I'll post my comments to my kids in another post... :)

Socks -- Mathman listened to your version of I Saw The Light and gives you props for it. Great job! Interesting Wikipedia link - the Telecaster to the right of the screen is just like Mathman's but his has a red shell pickguard insted of black, like the pic. (My favorite pickguards are the ones called "MoTo pickguards" - not cuz they're that cool or anything but because of the name "Mother of Toilet"! LOL!) Good stuff! BTW - Socks - What did you use for effects on those songs? It sounds like it's got some reverb and something else going on... What's that? Do share.... :)
  9. Yes, Ella did a great rendition of it - I believe Nat Cole also did it justice. I'm a big Ella fan - but it's sorta my "Towanda" music - if I'm in a bad mood and have already opened a bottle of wine before hubby gets home, and he hears Ella playing, he knows he's in the dawg house! (It's not a frequent occurance.) So, George - TAG! You're IT!
  10. I thought I was GOP until I took the test... Probably my views on healthcare and education made it come out D...D...D... (oh, I can't say it....!) (And it's probably from spending too much time at the Cafe!) Your Score Your scored 1 on the Moral Order axis and 1 on the Moral Rules axis. Matches The following items best match your score: 1. Socks! That's too cool! In the beginning it sounds almost like a sitar or something - almost dorian-mode-ish - very cool! Did I say it was cool? Damn, refreshing!
  12. I've heard it said in teachings that a "goat" is someone who is hard-headed and rejected the Word. That's probably the reference that you've heard. As far as the "Ram Ram" thing - I have no insight on that phrase. Perhaps it's just some "cutsie" talk between a mother and son - who knows. This paragraph by edawn spoke volumes: How many threads have we had now about how children in TWI were treated? We've got several posters (active posters) here at the Cafe who grew up in TWI - like Lindyhopper - they've shared a lot about it. I'm thankful I'm not raising my kids in that sort of atmosphere! YIKES! It seemed to me that many of the kids, especially those living with just their moms, were very immature for their age. I remember hearing teachings about how even college students needed to provide their parents and leadership with a daily schedule, broke into hourly increments, to show where they would be during the day. Parents were told to have daily contact with their kids. College bound kids were strongly urged to live at home and attend college - of course, they couldn't go in debt for student loans, either. I couldn't imagine being 23 years old and still answering to my parents every moment of the day - come on! It seemed like suffocation - over kill - to me. I'm sure none of these policies have changed - I can't see how or why - this info is from just 5 years ago.
  13. Say it is only a canvas sky Hanging over a muslin tree, But it wouldn't be make believe If you believed in me.
  14. Okay, it's "Brand New Day" by Sting (and featuring Stevie Wonder)
  15. My 16 year old nephew is finishing up driver's ed this week. My sister was pregnant with him at my high school graduation - I can't believe the kid is about to get his license! It seems like he was born just yesterday, and was running around on a leash, wearing a helmet.... And he'll be driving by the end of the summer...
  16. Please let me live vicariously though you while you're in Amsterdam. Promise me you'll partake of some of the better legal things that is offered in the cafes there... Visit the museum about the History of Sex... And tell us all about that city of sin.... :)
  17. okay, another little snippet.... You can turn the clock to zero, honey I'll sell the stock, we'll spend all the money We're starting up a ________ ____ ______
  18. Of course, CK would like to think he's going to be M&A'ed for his "beliefs" (I have another word for it), but that's because he likes being a martyr for Lord VictorMort (aka - "He Who Shall Not Be Named" - those of you who are familiar with Harry Potter will know what I'm referring to...) No, CK's being watched would have nothing to do with his personal attack on some posters who don't agree with him, now would it? Nah, couldn't be. What CK's experiencing is called:
  19. There's always fried green tomatos! YUM!
  20. I have lots of family members who were in the military - I have 9 brothers and sisters - all but 2 of us went into either the Navy or the Army. The 2 of us who didn't serve tried to enlist - I had had tried to enlist in the Air Force, and my brother who also didn't go had tried to enlist in the Army. Two of my brothers served in Vietnam - they n-e-v-e-r talk about it. Period. I'm proud of them nonetheless - they both volunteered - not drafted - for service. God bless them! Two of my sisters were serving during Desert Storm - one was doing sea duty (Navy), the other in communications in the Army. They're both no longer in active service but both had some serious fruit salad on their lapels from the honors they received. I'm proud of them, too! Today, I have seven nieces and nephews serving, and one brother-in-law who is in Iraq. I pray for them everyday. I can't say that I understand all the ins-and-outs of the war - it seems like such a waste of our young people, time, money, resources, etc. - but I certainly support our troops. No question. The price of freedom is paid in blood, it seems. It's never the blood of the politicians' sons and daughters, nieces and nephews - it's by the blood of Joe American's family - the blue collar worker and some white collar workers - they secure our freedom in places no one else would dare to set foot! My gratitude to them and their service is beyond words!

  22. I wish I could ask... Can I introduce you to my husband? What do you think of your grandsons? What do you think about how I'm doing? How do you feel about how Mom is doing? Could you teach me how to cook that Chinese dish you used to make? Can you sing those Bing Crosby songs you used to sing when you were driving? Do you have any idea how much I miss you?
