Poppin' in quickly, as I'm up to my eyeballs in work... Great Guitar Straps - even did a custom order for me - x-tra wide strap in ostrich leather w/ sheepskin lining - super comfy! It doesn't make my bass feel like it weighs 19 lbs when it's strapped on. Plus it looks *kewl*.... http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ2...assZguitarstrap Mine looks like this: but has the sheep skin inside of it, like this: I ...AND... ...get this... ...This weekend Hubby is gigging with a lead guitarist from Sunapee, NH, who's filling in with them named Tom Wright - here's a link to who playin with his band - I guess this guy's been around He's also mentioned in the Aerosmith biography... Kewl! (Now, if I can just get him to give me Joe Perry's number, so I can get him to come over with no shirt on... phew.... Is there another heat wave goin' on?)

If I may say it, the beliefs that you carry from TWI, that you embrace, could also be considered a religion. Yeah, TWI stated they were "non-denominational" or "inter-denominational" - but did they put up with the practice of any other religion(s) within their knowledge? No. Did they progress in their beliefs to something better than where VPW took things? No - not really. LCM's demolition of the research department is proof of that. You are no longer a member, correct? So... How would you label yourself now? I am similar to you, AW, in that I still believe much of what I was taught in TWI. However, I probably question what I was taught more than you do. That last statement is, of course, an assumption. I still believe that Jesus Christ is God's son - not God, that the dead are not alive, and so on... So, even if someone is born again, and knows the Word, does it mean that they are not "saved" if they change their belief system? I know that you know the answer to that. They are still saved. You see it as being entangled with a yoke of bondage - and I respect that, too. However, it also begs the question - Did you consider your time in TWI to be totally without bondage? By the way... I'm framing the first sentence of the last paragraph of your post. "Chas is right" - AW Can you say that again? Please? It sounds so good coming from you! :) (This is just me, messing with YOU!) -

Bravo! Well done!

As you know from my posts last week, there was an annual motorcycle rally in the area. There were also many MVAs, including ten fatalities. Out of all of the fatalities, it was noted that in NONE of the accidents was it the fault of the motorcyclist - it was always the drivers of the other vehicles involved in the MVA that were found to be at fault!

Oh, man... this must be the K-Tel Vinyl Cheese Hour version of Name that Tune... I know the answer to George's puzzle, but I'm going to let someone else take a shot at it... It's all fun!

Your replies certainly make sense; I understand where you are coming from and how your choices for worship work for you. I can also understand how you say you were never more under the Law than when you were in TWI - I think that's true for many, if not most of us, especially if you happened to be IN during LCM's reign. When I referred to previously not living under the Law, I was mainly referring to the teachings we all know concerning Sonship Rights, etc. But I do understand what you're saying... My husband's family is Greek Orthodox. We have baptized both of our sons in the Greek Church, but neither of us actually subscribe 100% to their beliefs. When we discussed the possibility of baptizing Kristopher, our oldest son, it was actually something that I suggested. My reasoning was (1) his grandfather founded the church in the city where we had it done; (2) his mother, aunts, and other family members who first came over here from Greece are all getting up in age and it would really make them happy; (3) Kristopher was the first grandbaby - and would most likely carry on the family name in this country (the first grandson for a Greek family is THE GOLDEN CHILD - let me tell you!); and (4) to remind us to raise him in the Lord. After Andreas was born, there was basically no discussion about the matter - we just did it - and with the same reasons. Overall, I think that our choosing to baptize the boys in the Greek Church helped to bridge the "Anglo Gap" - as he didn't marry a Greek girl - he got a League of Nations gal. The ceremony was full of symbolism, and some superstition, as Greeks are very superstition people. It was a beautiful ceremony and I have no regrets. Hubby and I still believe most of what we were taught in PFAL, but I do appreciate the religion that his family practices. So that being said, I understand your choices. I have a question for Bramble - I thought you were agnostic - did I misunderstand you? Thanks! -

As I've said on other threads, I believe Allen is a big boy and is responsibly for his words, but I think what he's trying to say here: "With the coming of the greater, the lesser disappears" - Before there was a gift of holy spirit, there were physical steps or rituals that people had to go through to become cleansed or scantified. For example, if someone touched a dead body, they were considered unclean. They had to go through certainly cleansing rituals or whathaveyou to enter the temple again. But after the gift of holy spirit was received, they were considered righteous, sanctified, etc., because they no longer had to live by the Law. I understand what Allen is trying to say, although he sort of says it with a sledgehammer... (your delivery needs a little work AW, but I get your point....) So, Abi, and others -- please don't think that I'm taking you to task or anything with this next question - that's not the case at all here, but can you explain why it is that you prefer living under a law, not that it's obligitory or anything, when you have previously lived without it? What does it do for you or how exactly does it enhance your life? As always, thanks again for entertaining my questions... -
We took Hubby's G3 iMac (yeah, it farts dust when you boot it up, but it works for him), to the Geek Squad today for an upgrade. We notebook memory - 256K - in it, which is more than double what was in it. Anyhow, on the paper work, it reads "Customer wants upgrade memory only. This is NOT A CLONE." Were there clones of this? Are there really Mac clones out there? I didn't think that was an option...

What a Mainer thing to do! Mainers will swap for anything! ======================= I finally got the plants re-potted today, as it's rained so much I'm afraid to put them in the ground. They're on the deck, each in it's own 16" plant pot. I found I had nine plants. They sat for over a week on my farmer's porch and did fine, as the only days I could have replanted then were days that we weren't home. Anyhow, I think that with a little plant food, they should do okay...

Divorced after six years of marriage. Single for about two years (not counting the separation time). Remarried in 2000, and we'll be celebrating our sixth anniversary this August. Why did I do it again? Still young and stupid.

Thanks again for putting up with my questions - I find this all very interesting, because I thought it would be more of an OPPOSITE of what I believe, as a born-again Christian. I'm finding it's not, overall, but that there are some nuanaces that are different... so..... "Allan, yes most Jews are still waiting for the first coming of the Messiah. There are some who do believe Jesus was the Messiah, they are known as Messianic Jews. However, many Jews believe that Jesus was a great prophet and teacher. That is the category I fall into." But you speak in tongues still, don't you? I think I read on another thread you wrote about it.... So, how do you believe that Jesus was a just prophet and teacher if you manifest holy spirit? And is it true, as VPW taught, that they are looking mainly for a miliary leader/messiah? Thanks for you patience - this is all very interesting.... -
TBone - Excellent choice. My favorite CD is the first one of the set - his early stuff. It's not as "produced" sounding. By the way, the song "'Cause We Ended As Lovers" was used on the CD that Mathman and I gave out at our wedding to our guests - great song! (There's some good music to get busy by on that box set....) This weekend I found the Bass Guitar White Pages (Tab) - it's like 200 songs. Here's a snippet of some of the songs in it: All Apologies • All Shook Up • Another One Bites the Dust • Are You Gonna Go My Way • Baby Love • Bad Medicine • Badge • Barracuda • Beast of Burden • Blue on Black • Blue Suede Shoes • Blueberry Hill • Brass in Pocket • Bulls on Parade • Carry on Wayward Son • Cherry Pie • Come Out and Play • Come to My Window • Come Together • Couldn't Stand the Weather • Detroit Rock City • Eight Days a Week • Fly Away • Free Ride • Get Ready • Great Balls of Fire • Hard to Handle • Hey Joe • Hey Man Nice Shot • Higher Ground • I Can See for Miles • I Fought the Law • The Impression That I Get • Into the Great Wide Open • Iris • Iron Man • Jessica • Learn to Fly • Maggie May • Maria Maria • Money • My Girl • Oye Como Va • Paperback Writer • Paranoid • Pride and Joy • Riding with the King • Semi-Charmed Life • Sultans of Swing • Under Pressure • Walk of Life • Would? • Wonderwall • and many more! ©2001. Whoo-hoo! The kids are in bed and I'm off to play!
