That ain't nuttin'...Did you know Sarah Palin was a Singing Whoo-Hoo of The Way, too?
-
mstar - hands down - that is one of the funniest things I've ever seen! (And you gotta watch the clips of "smells like teen spirit" when they cover that song!)

Is it me, or does that sound like Prince and Sheila E waybackintheday....

Thanks Mod for helping me out! Spelling mistakes can be overlooked... I don't like seeing them in the title of a thread, tho.

I don't think the addiction factor is really a stain on anyone's personal life these days. I have respect for people who admit their illness and go for recovery. In Rush's case, it was due to pain killers which were easily prescribed at the time. Prescription drugs are the new recreational drugs in our society and a huge problem in our schools because they're easy to get. You'd have to also put your darling, Al Franken's wife on the same level as Rush if you're going to look down your nose at someone because of an addiction problem. Besides, didn't Obama admit to snorting coke? Didn't Billary state that he tried pot but "didn't inhale"?

Every single lunch time speech, presentation, b!tch session - whatever you want to call it - was taped. Ditto for WC nights. There's plenty of evidence. Good luck getting your hands on it if you're on the wrong side of the wall of "zion"...

What if your Mayflower ancestor was also the proverbial "horse thief"... I've got one of those. He was my 8th gr-grandfather - Stephen Hopkins. Stephen Hopkins was aboard the ship "Sea Venture" which left for the Jamestown Colony in Virginia in 1609. The ship was wrecked by a hurricane in Bermuda and Stephen was one of one hundred and fifty castaways who survived. After about six months in Bermuda, Stephen began to challenge the authority of the governor and began to organize a mutiny. He was arrested and put in chains. He was tried and found to be guilty and was sentenced to death but the record states that "But so penitent hee was, and made so much moane, alleadging the ruine of his Wife and Children in this his trespasse" that he finally was pardoned. This shipwreck was partly responsible for inspiring Shakespeare's play, The Tempest. Finally, the castaways worked together to construct two ships and were able to sail on to Jamestown. Stephen had contact with Indians there and it is thought that the reason that he was a passenger on the Mayflower was because of his experience in the New World. He was called a tanner or leather maker at the time. Stephen and Elizabeth and two children from his first marriage and a two-year-old child from their marriage sailed on the Mayflower. He also had two men servants. On the way, their son, Oceanus was born between 6 September and 11 November 1620 while the ship was at sea. They had five more children after their arrival in Plymouth. In Plymouth, Stephen was one of three men designated to advise Captain Myles Standish on the first land expedition. He was deputized to meet the Indians and act as an interpreter. In Plymouth, he was referred to as a merchant and a planter and was called "Gentleman". He served as Assistant Governor of the colony in 1633/34. The Mayflower passengers were referred to as Saints who were part of the religious group and "strangers" who had come along for other reasons. As a "stranger", Stephen often found himself in trouble. He was fined for battery of a John Tisdale, was charged at various times involving the sale of wine, beer, strong waters and nutmeg at excessive rates. He was charged with refusing to deal fairly with an apprentice girl and also with selling a looking glass at an excessive price. Stephen dated his will on 6 June 1644. It was proved upon testimony of William Bradford and Captain Myles Standish in Plymouth on 20 August 1644. I know... I know... But I can't edit my posts - the damn button "edit" doesn't show up....

With the diverse group we have here, I'm sure there's got to be some decedents of Civil War veterans. I've been working on a genealogy project and discovered a gr-gr-gr-grandfather plus some gr-gr-uncles who fought in the war. Since tomorrow is Veterans' Day, I thought it would be interesting to see who else is a decedent... Post on....

With all the verbal blood-baths people took as they exited TWI... with all the spilling of personal, confidential details of people's lives that "leadership" did - whether it was LCM or VPW or Who-Knows-Who-Harry.... Why the f**k didn't someone come back and sue their a$$es for slander? Why and how did they manage to get away with it? Hell, there's even one case where LCM threw a fit about someone who was pilot of Ambassador I, blackened their name like only he could - turning the air blue as he did it - and they decided to go thru the WC a second time to get "on track" with the present (oh BARF!) truth! What about the people who left during the fog that LCM blasted on the leadership tapes? LCM's "free speech" was abused - he spoke about what married couples did in their bed and what people endured as children while growing up - but he there was never backlash from it that I know of... I just don't get it....

In what I know about you Seth, I think you'd like D&D. It's the best of strategy, quest, story-telling, and skill all wrapped up in a game. When I was Limb staff, my roommate was Dave's fiancee - she threw an original D&D game (dice, etc.) in a box to go to Goodwill on an Uncle Harry day.... I wanted to dive into that box in the worst way.... Whoever got that caged something worth a small fortune for a collector....

Thanks y'all! It was a good day - hubby got me a GPS and a charm for my bracelet. I cooked us a nice supper and we had a good family night, just the 4 of us, nothing fancy... but it was all good.

Some friends of mine had a dog named "Spirit"... they dressed him a t-shirt that read: You know me. He was a "familiar Spirit"....

Sounds like you're *familiar* with them....

You're a sick man, you know that?

I believe it was in the mid-90's, but I do remember a memo that came out from HQ where they stated they did not recommend or endorse any candidate or would tell people how to vote. I think it might have backfired on them in the past - but I'm not totally sure about that.... that's just my impression from the memo.

Here's my dog, Tanker, in his costume.... I put it on him last year and he just rolled over... wanted nothing to do with it. (And being a good dog-mom, I didn't make him wear it!)

Kristopher is going as Spiderman and Andreas is going as Thomas the Tank Engine. Andreas is already wearing his costume every day but he's the kind of kid who loves to play dress up. We decorated a couple of days ago - I'll try to post some pics later today.

Did you give that post any thought before you posted it? Honestly. Our armed forces, who protect our country, answer to The Commander and Chief, and also "work" for the Federal Government. They're willing to die for your freedom and because YOU have a problem with the way the government works, you call them all ungodly. I take great exception to your faulty analogy. It is an insult to our military and our government - which is still the most godly government on this planet, like it or not. Your logic has been weighed in the balance and found wanting.
