  1. Just to add to that -- that's only if she didn't request her maiden name back in the divorce. You have to ask for it back, and have it legally granted by the judge. She may have opted not to do that, which is understandable as she has children and probably wanted to keep the name. After all, she still is the First Lady of TWI.
  2. The "minor injuries" they inflicted on him are nothing in comparison to the loss of innocence and mental injuries he inflicted on those kids. I'm not advocating people taking the law into their hands - but - as a parent, I can 'sympathize' with WHY they would act out on him... I think people are getting sick of it seeming like the law protects the perp more than the victim, until something really horribly wrong happens... it seems like there's a lot more stories like this one lately in the news.

Clapton should be great - please tell us about it! I'd love to see him - we had wanted to go see Beck a few weeks ago, but couldn't get a sitter. We never go out, but when we do, it's usually a concert. I've only had a couple that weren't great to go to - most were well worth the money and a very memorable event.... I've been getting into Clapton more lately, trying to learn some Cream songs - pretty intense bass, really. The only thing I hate about almost all concerts we go to is that the guitarists usually change guitars through the show - some will do it a couple of times, but like when we saw the Eagles a couple of years ago, Joe Walsh changed guitars with every freakin' song... Well, Hubby thinks that's just the coolest thing... he'd like to do that, he says... but I know that's his GAS illness talking... A bit more about Steely Dan: I think I just remembered why they were so popular in the south... In one song they did, it was either called Crimson Tide or had a lyric about it - was it Deacon Blue? Man, my brain is cramping on this one... Anyhow, I bet that's part of why I heard them more down there - ROLL TIDE!

    First Kiss

The funny thing about that first pic, the one of the kid kissing the piggy, is that the baby looks a lot like my Andreas - I could see him doing something like that... (although we're going thru a biting stage at the moment...)

TOP - that's one of my favorite pics of all time - a mother's love! I also love this painting:

Man, I haven't thought of Steely Dan since I was in TN - seemed real popular there when I lived there, for some reason. I got into them, but when I moved back to New England *poof* not a word... sorta forgot about 'em... Thanks for the re-rememory :)
  7. I wanna say, "Dumb Bell Show-n-Tell"... but I know that's not a show... but I still wanna say it...

    Fair Time

You need fresh cut fries, done in PEANUT oil (there's one for you Lipitor fans out there...), heavy on the salt, and then the malt vinegar - maybe some ketchup... if you have to... YUM! Okay... WHO is going to Fryeburg?

    Fair Time

Oooh, I'm glad this thread came up again - it's been nutty here and I almost forgot about this one... Weather permitting we will be there. If it's really cold or rainy, I can't come because the kids would just be miserable. Wanna meet at the GAZEBO* around 5PM? I'll have a baby in a backpack on my shoulders, and another rug rat in tow... From the fair's website: ===================================== *Gazebo New in 1998, the Gazebo" is located on the West end of the racetrack facing the Green Gate. You'll find barbershop quartets, stiltwalkers, bluegrass bands, the BJ Hickman Magic Show, and even a German marching band waiting to greet fair goers as they enter from the parking lot.
  10. Man, it's getting WARM in here... yikes What was the question?
  11. Uh.... now what? (I obviously didn't get it... so I guess you post again, eh?)
  12. Oh, that looks like so much FUN! I love Halloween! Thanks for sharing the pics and WELCOME to the Cafe!
  13. Raf + Fur + Dee Bill Raferty? Wasn't he a game show host? Damn if I can remember which one... Am I warm?
  14. The Black Flies (?) I thought it was "Fly" - singular.... (I am also assuming the last pic is the sign language for "S" - but it doesn't really look like ASL's "S")
  15. Skyrider - My apologies, but I was referring to this sentence.... "The biggest horse's foot of the bunch successfully graduated and is still in as far as I know."

Evan - ALSO - isn't that bracing used because in some classical techniques - and especially flamenco - the body of the guitar is used like a percussion instrument? (Slapping)
  17. Think about it... DECADE OF VICTORY Victory? Over WHAT? What enemy did they eliminate? What war did they WIN? They're breaking their arm to pat themselves on the back, and they couldn't answer WHY! That "Decade of Victory" crap always irritated me... like sand in my bathingsuit...
  18. Amen. Afterall, isn't that who's running this country?

Doesn't Dale use a lot of overdrive, flange and re-verb? Yea, it's surf music... that's one genre I never 'got' - all the songs sound alike to me...
  22. Hint #2: In the first picture, there's a pool table, pool balls, and a _______ stick.
