Starcasters came in black, vintage white, sunburst, and natural. Any other colors were after-market changes. The one in the pic is a sunburst, for sure - it's not green but I can see where you'd think that because of the smoke/dry ice effect in the pic. BTW - these pups go for about $2,500-$3,500. If you go on eBay, check for listings - sometimes there will be one up for auction. They're tres rare.
  2. Does it flip itself over in the pan when you're cooking it? (I remember being freaked out as a kid when that happened - weird and cool all at once!)

Tres facile! Sprawled - that is a Starcaster. The guitarist from Radiohead plays one. It's from the late 70's and sorta a holy grail. This is the last one on my husband's list of "must have this ax" - he's got most of his wants already. Check out this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starcaster By the way, if you go to the beginnings of this mammoth thread, you'll see where I wrote about it and posted a picture of it - Starcasters are beautiful and have an awesome sound.
  4. I saw this on Drudge Report yesterday... I bet it gets dismissed - how crazy. My 5 year old got a note sent home with him from Kindergarten a couple of weeks ago for pushing a girl and calling two other girls names. I talked with him about it but he REFUSED to tell me what he called the girls. I grounded him for the night - it was usually our family night (pizza and movies or games) and made him apologize to the girls the next day at school. When he finally decided to 'fess up as to what he'd called the girls, I had a tough time not laughing... Are you ready for this? HORSE POOPIE! That's right. He pointed a finger at one girl, called her the most vicious thing he could think of, as loudly as possible, and then did the same to the next girl. He says they were complaining that he scribbled and didn't want him at their table. (He scribbles - they were right, but not kind, I guess.) I told him it wasn't right, just the same. Then snickered about it for the next couple of days. (When he couldn't see me...) Bottom line - it's all kids' stuff. You can't apply the same rules as you would for adults. Anyone SHOULD be able to see that...
  5. Oldies -- Thanks for posting this. This isn't directed AT you, okay? BUT.... How can JS consider this a RESPONSE? He's saying "don't believe everything and buy my book" B F D! This isn't a stinkin' response! He takes no ownership. He clarifies nothign. Offers no action plan. Does nothing to comfort. This isn't a response - it's a sales pitch! I wasn't impressed with them before this - I felt they weren't shepherds or teachers before. This ESTABLISHES their lacking ministry, in my opinion. And yes, history will repeat itself - sad but true.
  6. year2027-- This isn't a cheep shot - but I don't know how else to ask this and not make it confusing... So, are you saying that you practice the worship manifestations to yourself? Can you please show me where that is done in the First Centrury Church? (Either in doctorine or practice?) Again - PLEASE don't think I'm picking at you - I'm just trying to understand. I promise this isn't being asked to make you seem foolish, as I know several people who believe this practice, as well. Peace.
  7. Saying they're "nuts" maybe easy from where you sit, but the same could be said from anyone who spent time in TWI. Someone from the "outside" might not understand how we could consider someone like VPW a "father in the Word". Heck, just admitting you SIT could seem more crazy than this dream stuff. ... by the way, try a Google on "dream interpretation in the Bible" and you get a ton of other ministies who teach this stuff... Some have questioned the relavancy of this thread on this forum. I see it as being especially relavent considering that many former twi-ers are a part of CES and CES has somewhat fashioned its ministry after TWI. It's also a ministry that many former twi'ers will possibly look to as a place to go when they leave and are looking for a group who will understand them. God knows, I did - but found it wasn't my cuppa tea. My husband had fellowship with them for a few years but distanced himself shortly after we met and I started questioning the "personal prophsey" thing - it seems like a message from God in a Happy Meal box, you know - just all done up special for you with a toy. I valued the worship manifestations too much to buy it. Additionally, where else will people go to hear this about CES? I know of no other board like this and this can put the info out there in the mainstream. Like I've said - CES could be a good thing. After this, they'd be smart to ditch the whole thing and start over with a new cast.
  8. My questions are based on the documents you presented. Is your response directed at all of us? Or someone specifically? Please clarify.
  9. Okay, there's a big, fat, and rather ugly thread going on about the CES/STFI mess upstairs. I've done a little reading here in the basement but wanted something more from it. Does what CES, and some other ministries, just to be fair - CES isn't the only ministry teaching this - say about dreams and prophsey? Does this line up with the Word? What about the personal prophesy? Someone said it sounded like automatic writings to them, and I agree, but what's your take on this. I will say this - and it's not going to gain me popularity points - I do still believe what I was taught in PFAL - from Foundational to Advance Class. I have expanded my beliefs more, if you will, but still believe what I was taught - it's my foundation still. I'm not a Wierille-lite by any stretch but I believe there was a lot of truth to what was taught and haven't found much to discredit it. (That doesn't mean that I'm going to pick a fight with you if you don't believe PFAL - as I've said, I've expanded my beliefs and that includes being more tolerant and respectful than I was 7 years ago, when I was still IN.)
  10. I hope it's okay to ask some questions here... (here I go...) What's Elizabeth's background? (basically - like is she x-twi? way corps? widowed? etc.) What's this "deliverance session? How's it set up or what's the procedure? How is this based on scripture? Do they teach on grace, love, and forgiveness anymore? Or just this stuff? (These are honest questions - not smart a$$'d - we're just trying to put this all together.)
  11. I found pond/mj's post rather enlightening about how Mark blocked her email address when she asked him to address the issues that are being discussed on this board... Whoops! Fells asleep for a moment and had a little dream... It went something like this: A baby in a diaper, but with Mark's adult head, starts trying to do damage control from his playpen... Just kidding... Seriously... $5 says that the one of the two anonymous readers on this thread right now is Mark and another $5 says the other anonymous reader is JAL. They say they want nothing to do with this board, but I bet my bippy that they've checked this out by now - gimme a break. Hi guys! It's sad that CES has gone as far south as it has. It could have been a good thing. It could still be a good thing if they clean up their act and stop experimenting with the occult. My impression, when I went to a meeting where JAL came to Manchester, NH (that was hosted by PJRoberge) was that he (JAL) didn't know how to take care of people at all. His teaching that night consisted of tangents and little fact or scripture. He never put his focus on the needs of the group or the area - just CERTAIN individuals. His interactions with others that night after the teaching consisted on "readings" or personal phrophsey and no interactiosn with people who didn't want that - i.e. he shunned them (me!). Thanks, but no thanks. Hubby continued to follow along with some of their stuff until about a year ago, but from a distance - THANK GOD!
  12. I never thought I'd admit to anyone... but I used to do that with one of my cats... I had a wav file of a cat meowing and would play it when I couldn't find him... he'd come running every time-- sucker... :)
  13. Oooh - this is right up my ally... My family is Welsh, so we have this every Christmas. If you've ever made popovers - this is basically the same thing. I've included a recipe - it's a good one - but what we differently is that we usually have a rib roast for the meat. We use the drippings for the roast for the gravy and the Yorkies - so when you order your roast, ask the butcher not to trim the fat. The fat is important if you're going to do this right - and bacon grease just isn't as good. You can also add a little beef buillion dissolved in a little hot water, if needed, to the fat to stretch it, but that's only if you HAVE to do it.. Here's a great recipe: Yorkshire Pudding ¼ cup of bacon dripping ½ cup milk 1 egg, well-beaten ½ cup sifted all-purpose flour ¼ teaspoon salt Temp: 450º F Time: 10 - 15 min. I use a glass pie plate so if you also do, turn the heat down to 425°F. Tip One tasty and cooking trick - save in a mug in the fridge drained off bacon drippings to use in this recipe - also for that super taste in English Roast Potatoes! Now combine well-beaten egg and milk; beat till light. Gradually beat in sifted flour and salt; beat with dover beater till smooth. Let stand 30 minutes. (I personally don't bother with this letting stand 30 minutes step.) Put the bacon dripping into an 8"x8" baking pan or divided up between 6 large muffin tins. Heat in oven, make sure you watch pan as it will start to smoke! Pour batter into hot pan; bake in hot over till done. Serves 4. The trick is the hot fat and the hot oven. Don't keep opening the oven to check. Serve immediately as it will deflate as it gets cold. Pour nice beef gravy over top. Or you can use "Yorkies" with chicken.
  14. Priceless post - thanks Exie -- ROTFPIMP - gawd... this is rich...
  15. Bing Crosby - my dad could sing just like him and would sing Christmas carols all year long - so for me, any music by Bing is just bittersweet, but really makes me feel "Christmasy"... The one song that just is THE REMINDER for the RESON FOR THE SEASON is "Mary, Did You Know?" Oh, man - what a song! Mary, did you know That your baby boy will one day walk on water? Did you know That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? Did you know That your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that youve delivered Will soon deliver you Mary, did you know That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Did you know That your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? Did you know That your baby boy has walked where angels trod? And when you kiss your little boy Youve kissed the face of god Mary, did you know? The blind will see The deaf will hear And the dead will live again The lame will leap The dumb will speak The praises of the lamb Mary, did you know That your baby boy is lord of all creation? Did you know That your baby boy will one day rules the nations? Did you know That your baby boy is heavens perfect lamb? This sleeping child youre holding Is the great I am
  16. I am not involved with CES but my husband was... As he tells it, CES will promote something one day and the drop it the next day when someone gets hurt or the pied piper who's playing the tune turns out to be a demon in a wedding dress with a black widow spider coming out of its nose... (just kidding - but you get the point, right?) They promoted - yes, promoted - Momentus but then dropped it when it turned out to be not-so-profitable. They promoted one certain minister in the NH area who turned out to have committed statutory rape more than once - getting his teenaged girlfriend pregnant - and lived off the other believers in the area to the point where they are still recovering from it financially and spiritually. In both cases, CES blew hot one day and then cold the next day on these things. The point is that it is not a stable ministry - never has been. They make up the rules as they go along and don't seem to give much regards to the real rule book. Theirs is a foundation built on sand - not rock. There may be some weirdness about TWI but it would be a far cry better right now than this camp. BEST would be to get out now.
  17. I don't apologize to make people I may have offended go away. I don't apologize when I don't feel or KNOW I haven't made a mistake - it's admitting to an error that isn't there. BUT if there's a misunderstanding as to why someone thinks they're offended, then I will apologize for the confusion - and explain why I said or did what I did. I don't use words like "IF" or "BUT" in my apologies - it's like making a pinkie promise with your fingers crossed - you don't really mean it - you're just going thru the motions. If two parties with different points of view will shut up long enough to hear each other out, perhaps an apology isn't necessary but just identifying where they will never agree or see eye-to-eye is needed. (Agree to disagree and go about their merry ways.) Just my thoughts - you're welcome to disagree - I won't be offended. :)
  18. that's just some good stop action movie sync'd to TSO - there's a ton of these out on youtube right now - same house and lights - different songs... I gotta get some film of a place down the road from here - I don't have words for it...

Excellent! So facinating to watch and listen to - he's got interesting slapping technique and plays up high on the next, making it sound almost like a 12-string - it looks like he's got an Alvarez dread there - beautiful guitar! Thank you!
  22. Paw - thanks for the tip - I'll check into that... I'm really loving the iLife suite - we've designed a book in iPhoto for the family back in Greece and we're just going to ship it directly to them. I don't know if it will make it in time for 12/25, but it should be close. They've never met the boys so it's a great way to keep them up to date on how the boys are growing up! Hubby was playing with Garage Band tonight - I'm not sure how that turned out - I'll have to check... :)
  23. (((EAGLE))) Glad you and Mrs. Eagle are safe and sound! THANK GOD!

I started bartending when I was 16 years old. I lived in Maine, where this is perfectly legal, just as long as you have a manager in the bar or restaurant who is 18 years old. The legal drinking age in Maine was (and still is) 21 years old. I went to school for it - I am a certified Mixologist. I still have my certificate, although it's been quite a while since I've tended bar. My first husband was an alcoholic and a corporate TWI person - he would not allow me to tend bar. I have worked some parties and weddings, just for fun and a little extra $. I am the bartender who keeps tally of how many drinks you've ordered - like my life depends on it. Don't ask me for 2 Long Island Iced Teas within 2 hours - you won't get the second one. I will shut you off and I don't care how ....ed off you get. I won't let you order a bunch of drinks and then let you lug them to a table where your 19 year old girlfriend will try to suck it down, because I will alert the manager to what you are doing. I would card my own mother. Hell, I don't let people drive from parties that I have in my own home if I feel they've had a beer too many - I'll make them wait it out - and coffee doesn't sober up anyone - that's a myth. Time is the cure for that ailment. The reps who sell the liqour, like oenophile, to the restaurants are not the problem. The servers who will not act responsibilly are the bigger issue - I have seen them cower when someone acts like they "might" get upset, or seen them cater to the customer in hopes they'll get a better tip, because they feel they'll loose their tip if they shut off a guest. Personally, I don't remember loosing that many tips or ....ing off that many people - most just took it in stride. Ultimately, it's the responsibility of the consumer - but the server can help enforce the consumer's duty to their responsibility if their judgement is impared.
