  1. Interesting and predictable. Yup. A young buck from a cult-spinoff slides into the forum sideways and starts yammering about the great new fellowship/class/sign-here sorta thing he's into. He's full of the latest-n-greatest of RFAL (Revised For Abundant Living.) Right in the middle of a big ol' forum of ex-wayfers. Yup. Bold. I guess. He makes you want to like him and he says some funny country-hic things that are a hoot. I get a mind picture of a big ol' corn-fed Iowa boy at a computer, pecking away at a keyboard with his calloused fingers. Sorta cute. But as you read his posts, you know there's a hook in those posts he's putting on the forum. He's fishing for something'. And the little rules in post #1 - waz that all about? Nope, he wasn't here to bash anyone but.... somehow he's got something wayyyyy better and boy, you'd better not have anything to say in disagreement unless you experienced it first hand. Um... yeah. Okay. Whatever. We've never heard THAT before. <_<
  2. I hope you're testing your designs in more than IE, Safari, and Firefox. There's Opera, Google Chrome, etc.
  3. Thanks for posting that - Sorry I'm just now catching up. Life is beyond busy and bordering on overwhelming at the moment... Do you have anything for ear infections for pets? I have a friend who has Basset Hounds (she is a foster for a local rescue) and this seems to be a problem with that breed. Any recommendations? THANKS AGAIN!

    Hey Mom

Oh, man... do I know that routine, Kimberly. Saturday, my oldest boy had his last game and then the spring sports awards afterwards. Of course the game was an away game so the Mommy Taxi had to shuttle him around. Then it was a b-day party afterwards - the kid was on the run for 8 hours that day. I was beat by the time it was over. But he was happy and tired by the end of the day. It was all worth it. (There's a pic of my oldest on the "baseball - the talking sport" thread that I just posted if you wanna see my little slugger.) On the flip side, I also see the moms that are the "stage moms" at games - yelling at their kid's coach or at the kid. I've seen moms asked not to attend their kids' games because they're so obnoxious. I wouldn't have the guts to be like that - even when I don't agree with a call - I just keep it to myself.... the calls may not always be fair but sometimes life isn't fair, ya know? My youngest will be old enough next spring to play pee-wee t-ball - I can't wait! Love it!
  5. He doesn't really have a preference yet for what position he likes to play. They rotate the players around so that they can try out different infield and outfield positions. Funny story: Kris' first game, he was playing 3rd base and there was a kid on 2nd base. The batter hit a big pop fly and Kris caught it - got one of those "Holy CRAP! I GOT IT!" looks that kids get when they surprise themselves. Anyhow, the kid on 2nd made a run for 3rd. Kris went to tag 3rd, tripped, and (you guess it) - dropped the ball. The runner was declared safe of 3rd. And Kris was livid! In the true fashion of his old woman (me!) he turned around and started arguing with the coach who called the safe. Of course the coach didn't take anything off him and I wanted to hide under the bleachers at the time but still... Tenacious little guy!
  6. Well... there's enough people in the room so that they could have manifestations... "Loshanta trweiorjlskfj lkj lkj joij oi"....
  7. I sold Gavin MacLeod (played Capt. Stubing on The Love Boat) a pair of Bass shoes once when I was working at the local Bass Outlet in Wells, Maine... Also met Englebert Humperdink at that same place but couldn't stop giggling over his name (I was 16... what can I say?) Stood in line behind Sully from Godsmack as he got icecream in Alton Bay, NH... (just a few years ago...) Ran into two of the Gatling Bros in a mall in Nashville, TN when I lived there (I was also working at that mall).... Parked next to Wynonna Judd once in a parking lot when I was picking up something at a PR firm's office on Music Row in Nashville, TN... I don't think she was pleased to be mixing with us common folk. Got introduced to Toby Keith because I did some work for him when he first hit the scene.... (Toby WHO?) Use to wait on two of the members from Sawyer Brown when I worked at Shoney's in Nashville because their office was on the next floor of the building.... I remember one was a "regular" and the shyest person I ever met - very sweet guy. He turned out to be their keyboard player, Hobie. There's isn't a nicer person on the planet!
  8. Just got the pics in of Kris from this year's baseball season. Kris is my oldest boy - he's is almost 8 yrs old and going into the 3rd grade: Yup. I'm a proud mamma!
  9. Sorry but I had to crack up when Adam sang that line in "Beth": My and the boys will be playing... all night. Adam's theatrics wore thin. Kris plays some instruments and sings - that scores points. I would have liked to have seen Danny win, although Alison was my fav - that chick has one of the best female rock voices I've heard in a long time!
  10. I just like my handle better than my real name. :)
  11. Yes, but that's treated waste. If monitored and done appropriately it could be a good thing. The grass grows greenest over the septic tank, don't cha' know. The head of the Epidemiology Department at my hospital once told me about when he was in Vietnam and treating a couple dozen villagers who were suffering from severe diarrhea. He watched the care takers ("nurses") in the medical ward empty bed pans into buckets that were then emptied right into the rice paddies. It was a nasty circle, to say the least!
  12. We just received a voice message from hubby's superintendent for the school district he works in... She reported there's been 5 confirmed cases in our state and one case is a student at a high school just 10 minutes up the road from where hubby works. That school has opted to close on Monday. So far, that's the only school cancellation in the state. She also reported that they're taking precautions but have no plans to cancel school for now...
  13. Are you asking me? I'm a little puzzled by your post... If so, are you really asking what the benefits of taking precautions from spreading disease are? I work in healthcare quality management - I thought maybe a more clinical view of how this is being handled by healthcare professionals might help shed some light on things... (it's not a "freak out" or "RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" sorta thing... more of a "use some common sense and all will be well" situation... )
  14. I work in a rural hospital and our Epidemiology Department released a memo to all staff about the swine flu. Some highlights of the memo were: 1. There is no vaccine on the market for this strain so this has the potential of having an impact on the two age groups that are most venerable - the elderly and the very young. 2. Prevention is very important. 3. If you cough or sneeze remember to cover your mouth. 4. If you have symptoms DO NOT come go to work. 5. And finally... most importantly... WASH YOUR HANDS! It seems this is turning out to be no more harmful than any other type of flu. It presented many "red flags" to the medical community which has been preparing for a world-wide pandemic for many years now. Is that fearful? No, I don't think so. It's being cautious of trends that have been seen in the past and preparing to deal with what will be a reality. I'm probably going to take a beating for saying it but we are "overdue" for a pandemic. The reason this is so scary in many other countries is that they don't have proper sanitation to begin with and diseases can spread much more quickly. They don't have the availability of medical care and prescription drugs that we have here. Even some of the regular practices within those countries (using human waste to fertilize rice paddies) shows ignorance of how disease can be quickly spread.
  15. THAT is the version of "Rattlesnake Shake" I know... just good Hair Metal...
  16. i'd heard the way the Way Cab was set up was that they all got 'round a table and everyone one slapped their meat on the table - the biggest one got the biggest position with the most pay (president) and the second-biggest one got the second highest position and pay, and on so on...
  17. ah, how the religious love their bondage... when i logged in to see what all y'all was up to i thought i was trippin' on something... wtf? greasespot? pro-twi posts? fer-schizzle. i think oldies must have gotten some bad prunes or something, god love him.
  18. My niece is getting a new laptop and emailed me to ask what I'd recommend. The virus protection I use for work comes in 10-license bundles and costs about $600.00, which wouldn't suit her needs. She's graduating high school and has been accepted to a nice college. Anyhow... What's a good, reliable virus program you'd recommend? THANKS!
  19. George - the drivers are found on your computer's manufacturer's site. I work on my town's computers and we use Dell. Oftentimes I can resolve a similar issue to yours by going on Dell's web site and downloading the latest video card driver update. Drivers are generally updated as technology evolves. If you have an HP, go to HP's website... if you have an Acer, go to Acer's site... you get the idea... If you're not sure what you have for hardware or software on your computer, try Belarc: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html Download and run - it's a free scan. There's no "hooks" attached - honest. We use this for work all the time and it's a great tool!
  20. What's the make of your computer? Most brands (i.e. HP. Dell, etc) have driver downloads on their site. Have you gone to your brand name's website to download the driver or to see if there is an update? This could be a simple fix. And a new video card is less expensive and less trouble to install than you may think!
  21. I like Facebook for both personal and professional reasons. Since my last name isn't what it was when I was in school, it's nice to be able to find classmates (or for them to find me!) via Facebook and without paying a fee like on Classmates.com.
  22. Jim Morrison, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix... If I'm gonna get wasted, I don't want to have to teach amateurs how to do it!
  23. Okay, I have to chime in here on the fruity beer from Belgium... it's good stuff... but it's not beer... No, no - repeat after me, "This is NOT beer.... this is Lambic..." It is a malted fruit beverage - NOT beer. Just like wine coolers are not wine but a malt bev. (Yes the label says beer... Chazzy knows.... but that's so Americans will know how to categorize it... as we know wine, beer, and hard stuff...) By the way - a couple ounces of razberry Lambic mixed with a Young's Chocolate Stout is damn good!
