Apple put out a patch for this for OS X weeks ago... no problemos here.... :-) But we recently had a bunch of brown outs here in our area and the DST - so I feel like my life is all about re-programming clocks here lately. Scheesch!

There's actually a medical test for emphasema where those two gasses are used.

From what I understand he had a heart condition. He had placed a 911 call but the police did not arrive soon enough for him. The area of NH he was in was rather rural - I believe the nearest trauma center would have been a good 20 mins. from him. His family also asked that memorial donations could be made to the American Heart Association... On Eddie Van Halen's website, he called Depl one of the nicest guys in rock'n'roll.

(slightly...) sad news... the lead singer of Boston, a NH resident, was found dead in his home today... he was only 55 years old. ATKINSON, N.H. -- Bradley Delp, the lead singer of the 1970s band Boston, died Friday at his home in Atkinson. Police are calling Delp's death "untimely," but they said there was no indication of foul play. Investigators said he was apparently alone at the time of his death. Delp, 55, was preparing for a summer tour with Boston and was also planning to get married this summer. -------- How sad. What a great group and what a powerful voice.

Book 7 - Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows
ChasUFarley replied to ChasUFarley's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
Hold on. I'm laughing my a$$ off here about the Trevor as the Half-Blood Prince part... LOL! Here's my thing about Sirus' "death", if you will... Harry talking with Nearly Headless Nick about if Sirius is perhaps a ghost, which Nick denies immediately. He confirms that Sirius is gone - and says as much. I don't know how Sirius will come back or if he will come back, but somehow Nick knows this. Nick also says that he often is approached with this type of question but seems hardpressed to give any details whatsoafter about the afterlife. -
Leg of Lamb - Greek Recipe... Boneless or bone-in leg of lamb (I figure about 0.5 lb/person with a little extra for hearty eaters) About 10 peeled cloves of garlic FRESH oregano and thyme - probably about 4-6 oz/each Olive Oil Greek Seasoning (like Cavanders) about 10 potatos peeled and cut into chunks 1 8-12oz can of tomato sauce Rinse the meat and place it on a cutting board. Let it get up to room tempreture - or darn close to it - I'm not kidding - this makes a difference... Using a very sharp knife, make slits in the meat - like pockets - and place cloves of garlic in the slots. Rub the outside of the leg with liberal amounts of olive oil Sprinkle with Greek seasoning Place the sprigs of FRESH oregano and thyme all over the meat. Take the potatoes and lightly coat with olive oil. Pour the tomato sauce over them and coat them some more. Add some Greek seasoning Place the meat and potatoes in a roasting pan. I place the meat on a rack. Make a tin-foil tent over the leg of lamb. Place in oven at about 325 degrees with a meat theometer in the leg, at the meatiest part. The meat will cook and juices will help to roast the potatoes. Remove the foil tent after about the first hour. Drink liberal amounts of ouzo and greek wine (if you can stand the stuff) while waiting. Remove from oven when theometer is just about to the 140 degree part. *This is key: Let the meat sit for about 15-20 mins. before carving. Cover it with a hot, damp kitchen towel while it is sitting. It will cook a little more once its out of the oven. Carve and serve with the potatoes, Greek salad, rolls, fresh asparagras or peas (with lemon sauce), and lots of ouzo or greek wine (if you can stand the stuff.) Greek Easter this year is on the same Sunday as western Easter - we will be coooking and serving leg of lamb for BOTH families, as we observe both holidays. OPA! Lamb won't have a gamey taste if it is spring lamb (which usually means that it comes from New Zealand) and if it was slaughtered before it was 3 months old, I believe. If you've ever had mutton (sheep) - that's the definition of gamey - and stringy. I hate mutton - the texture is the one thing that really turns me off - no thanks!

I found that if I listened to about four or five Dead songs, then it felt like I'd heard them all - I'm not big on jam bands, with the exception of the Allman Bros.

ooohhhhhhh..... I'm sure it beats dealing with the geek squad... <_<

Well, the CD/DVD drive is shot from the sounds of it... (not your harddrive... right?) And you're under warranty, right? So, what do they need the credit card for? And where is igotout when we need him? <_<

Okay... so the worst thing about this is what we have a party for 6 weeks... ... like, that's a PROBLEM? Party at Chas'! BYOB and BYOG! (Bring Your Own Guitar!)

If you like that, you'll LOVE this...

Chops of doom... I tell you what - Trucks can take a solo to the edge of time and then just bring it right back into the chorus of the song like nothing ever happened, and all without a bead of sweat forming on his forehead... unbelievable...

Nah... just some dents in my can! The tat is a little higher than that... Old-Fashioned Biscuits (as shown on Clabber Girl can) Ingredients 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup shortening 3/4 cup milk 1 tablespoon soft margarine or butter Instructions In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the milk all at once. Using a fork, stir just till moistened and dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl (dough will be sticky). On a floured surface, lightly knead dough with floured hands for 30 seconds or till nearly smooth. Lightly roll dough to 3/4-inch thickness. Cut dough with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, dipping cutter into flour between cuts. Place biscuits close together on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush tops with soft margarine. Bake in a 475° oven for 11 to 15 minutes or till golden brown. Serve warm. Yield Makes about 8

(It was a joke... about the herbs you could put on the fish that you probably COULD smoke... i.e. smoked fish!)

Chef - I've never had fiddleheads - tell me more about 'em... Bumpy - sounds interesting - I bet the smoked fish is good - tell me more about it...

Have you uninstalled and re-installed the driver for the DVD R/W? That would be a good place to begin on this... this seems like a boat load of trouble for a little adware....

Oh, I'm sure there's something out there that would tickle his fancy - I see him looking at autions on eBay a lot. He likes the Wolfegang Peavy's that are out there... but overall, I think he's just dreamin' ... He also just got back his Porsche we bought last fall - it's a little 924S that we picked up for $600 - it runs - no kidding. He's getting it inspected to get it on the road - little souped up VW... He's got enough toys, thank you!
-
That's cool - gives a neat tone, sorta reminds me of a resonator... (I wish hubby would get one of those - I'd love to have one around to tinker with... but we got enough toys for now...)

I used to work for Equifax processing mortgage applications in Nashville... Some advice... Take your credit card statements and figure out which one has the LOWEST interest rate. Call that company and ask if they're having any specials for balance transfers. If they are, then roll ALL of your cards into one account. THEN - ask when the payment due date will be - generally its the same day of the months or every 26 days or whatever. Ask for it to be placed at a time that's good for YOU. Pay off your department store cards first and then GET rid of them. Those are the worst ones to use and generally have the highest interest rates. If you suspect you're going to be out of work for any reason, call the credit card company BEFORE you are out of work and ask for any special insurance programs they might have. Find out how long you have to pay for them before they can be activated and what they cover. (I was able to not pay on three accounts for 12 weeks after the baby was born - it saved us over $1K during a time when I had only two-thirds or no income.) Closing a card will NOT hurt your credit score - it will show up in history but will drop off your score in four to seven years. You can be reported LATE by a company to the credit bureaus even when you are NOT 30-days late. You can dispute lates by submitting a letter to the company who thinks you're late and sending a copy to the credit bureaus. If you don't have a response by the company who has reported you as being late within 30 days (it might be 60 days - I'm not 100% sure about the time...) then that letter of dispute will be placed with your credit file and the bureau will have to erase these lates. This can raise your score. You would be AMAZED at the number of companies now who report to credit bureaus - it's not just mortgage companies, auto finance, and credit cards - most utilities report. If you want to know if Ma Bell has tattled on you recently, then call the company to ask. You'll be amazed! Yep - you can get dinged for a late cable or cell phone bill! Own a home? Check into getting a home equity line of credit and rolling your credit card bills into that. Set it up to be paid off in a few years - like 5 years. You can write off the interest (something you can't do with the credit card bills) and your home will appreciate in value, while the crapola you bought with the credit cards will not appreciate (most likely...) Then cut up the cards... This is especially good if you're buying a car - do it with your home equity because you can't write off interest paid out for car payments. Watch those 6 months with 0% finance offers you see at places like Best Buy or Sears. The catch is that if you're not paid up IN FULL on the first day after the six months is over, then you get hit with a cumulative interest charge - in one lump. I figured this out when I put $1800 down for a computer and the works - the interest would have been another $250 - for just 6 months! OUCH! If you can't pay those mothers off, then ROLL 'em into another account that won't slap you. You can get a payment to a company quicker if they accept payment via web portal vs. you paying through your bank. My experience is that paying thru the bank takes about 6 business days from when I set it up, but paying via the portal is one to two business days. You may get a fee for this - but sometimes the fee is cheaper than the late charges! I take my bills and totally prepare them for mailing them out the same day they come in the door. Then I write the due date where the stamp goes. They are placed in the mail on the pay period before they're due - in other words, I pay them 2 weeks ahead of when they're due. This allows for processing time. IF something is really sensitive for processing, then I place tracking on it when I mail it - that way, the company can't say I mailed it late. (This saved my butt more than once with Soverign Bank on an auto loan - they tend to sit on payments - they slapped me late once. The next time, I PROVED they had my check for 10 days before they cashed it and credited my account!)

Kenny Wayne Shepherd From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Kenny Wayne Shepherd (born June 12, 1977) is an American Blues musician. Shepherd was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. Self-taught, he began playing at age 7, figuring out Muddy Waters licks from his father's record collection. At the age of 13, he was invited onstage by the New Orleans bluesman Bryan Lee. After proving his abilities, he decided on music as a career. Using his own contacts in the record business Shepherd's father and manager helped his son land a major-label record deal with Giant Records. Kenny Wayne Shepherd has sold millions of albums worldwide, with two Grammy nominations, three straight No. 1 blues albums, a string of No. 1 mainstream rock singles and two Billboard Music Awards. He was also awarded the 1998 and 2001 Orville H. Gibson Awards for Best Blues Guitarist. Shepherd married Hannah Gibson (eldest child of Mel Gibson) on September 16th, 2006. [edit]Trivia Shepherd contributed to and played the opening and ending credits of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Shepherd and Bryan Lee appeared as the musical guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on February 14, 2007. Shepherd produced his first cd "Ledbetter Heights" when he was only 17. [edit]External Link The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Information Center the official website This article on a musician is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it. ========= I remember when the Kenny Wayne Shephard Band came out with Blue On Black - it was in the late 90's. I believe the song went into the Top 10. He was sorta a virtuoso - like what Derek Trucks is - very unusual, young talent. He disappeared for a while - drug addiction, I think - and recently resurfaced. I'm looking forward to what he brings on next - refreshing. http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/arti...tml#artist_name

I've reasearched what that might be and its adware... Here's the removal instructions: The following instructions pertain to all Symantec antivirus products that support Security Risk detection. Update the definitions. Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as Adware.IEDriver. Delete the values that were added to the registry. Reset the Internet Explorer Search page. For specific details on each of these steps, read the following instructions. 1. Updating the definitions To obtain the most recent definitions, start your Symantec program and run LiveUpdate. 2. Scanning for and deleting the files Start your Symantec antivirus program and run a full system scan. If any files are detected as Adware.IEDriver, click Delete. PS - Norton is a historian - it finds stuff AFTER you've got it on your computer. Try McAfee - I used to run both on my PC and really liked the McAfee...
