Poodles were actually a rifle dog - used in hunting like a retriever. A standard poodle can get quite big and would about be 30+" at the hip/back - not a wimpy dog at all. They became wimpy when they were bred down for size to meet the toy standards - and then given the sissy haircuts. The vet practice I worked at had a gentleman who used to bring in his standard poodle for grooming - it was very smart and well trained. The dog never had a poof cut - but more of a cut that looked like this: They're actually very fun and love water - they're related to the Porteguese Water Dogs - same family.

My cousin supposedly sleep walked when she was a teen. Got up one night in March, went outside, down the street, into a neighbour's house that she knew, and used their bathroom. Came out, went back home, and got back into bed. There was snow/mud on the ground - she had no boots or shoes on. The next morning when her mother told her about it, she didn't believe her until she looked at her feet...

ROTFLMAO! The truth to it all is that I would have been putting them out of MY misery... The happy couple is selling their house - he's still not working - and they're moving to FL or MI, whenever they decide. I learned that she never paid for the use of the church for the wedding service or the hall that she rented for the reception - wow... talk about NO SCRUPLES... unbelievable.... that's one friendship I don't miss!

I love iTunes - I have it sync'd with my movies and photos so that I upload everything to my video iPod in one sitting... I also like how I can make playlists, renames things, and sort them. I wish I had more time to spend with it... I've also started playing with Garage Band, as I hope to get into podcasting - but right now I have too many projects going on...

Gawd... It was a year ago yesterday when I posted this thread.... I think I'll give up going to weddings for Lent...

I went to a country wedding once - The groom wore jeans, a cowboy hat, and cowboy boots. The bride wore a simple cotton white eyelet lace dress and was barefoot. Her flowers were daisies - you get the idea. They had a small band and basically asked people to bring a picnic or picnic foods - "bring a dish". They provided grills and they did grill up ribs, burgers, hot dogs, etc. Of course there was a keg. You know what? It was great - it was a nice time and everyone had fun. The bride didn't really want a big too-do and never once told us about the many places she'd registered (I don't think it crossed her mind.) DMILLER - Hubby's band does weddings, too. They've run into that before - I'd be ashamed to do that! Good grief! Some people... We had a simple wedding - about 30 people. It was at a resort here in NH - that is now on property that my father's farm used to abutt. My father and brothers all worked the field at haying time, as people would help each other out like that then. We were married on the golf course and had a dinner reception afterwards. The food was three main entree choices - rib roast, chicken marsalas, and seafood newburgh. We didn't do an open bar because almost no one drank and it was a Sunday - most had to work the next day. We pulled the whole thing off for less than $1K. Including the suit, rings, dress, flowers, JP, gifts, etc. - it was about $2K - all total. We incurred NO DEBT from the wedding because we wanted to start a family and buy a house (which we did in less than a year!) I guess what frosts me about this wedding is they have money and they're just being RUDE and CHEAP! (I'm not going!) I might just not nap Andreas before the wedding, either... heh, heh...

OMG - you guys are a scream - I love the Pabts Blue Ribbon and Cheetos suggestion - LOL! I talked to hubby about it - this wedding has things going on with it that remind me of a really bad one that I went to last year (I was doing the photography as a gift to the bride) - and tried to talk him out of it. He said he's going but that he's going to bring Andreas, who is 2 years old (TERRIBLE TWOS TO THE TENTH POWER!) and then duck out of the reception. I think a 2 year old at a wedding is appropriate... HA! This is gonna be good...

JavaJane - That's how my current husband is - he says I'm a B.A. and threatens people with me if he runs into a snag with something - like a customer service issue - "Don't make me put my wife on the phone with you!" He loves it that I'm a scrapper and supports me and my interests... I think the big thing now for me is seeing how I'm so much truer to myself now than I ever was before. I have a business, hobbies, and do things without him - and don't have to ask permission or submit a schedule first. I just do it - and he's totally cool with it. I joke that we're more like roommates sometimes than husband and wife - but it works for us. Maybe that's what it's really all about - you're happier when you figure out what works for you and stop trying to live up the standards others set for you or your marriage... Some of those WC who thought they were hot poop on a paper plate in the marriage department have marriages that have gone down the crapper - Donna & LCM, anyone?

recipes please!!!

JavaJane... I can "one up" that... You know you are in TWI if you've done a coffee enema!

I make something called Moose Juice... it's pretty easy... You get a couple pounds of fresh cut pineapple chunks and put it in a big jar.... pour a couple bottles of rum over it and let it sit for several days.... That's it! Serve over ice in a tall mug - and eat the pineapple - YUM! Very refreshing and will knock you on your fanny in no time!

no... sounds interesting... but you did make me think of fried green tomatos... can't WAIT!

Ah, it's that time of year again... Flowers are blooming... Birds are singing... And brides are making horrible decisions... We got an invite to the wedding of one my husband's co-workers. The event is this weekend. The bride had placed us on her email list some time ago and we've received emails about everything from her dress, to her ring, etc. - including the prices! (Why she thought we needed to know is beyond me... I ignored 95% of the emails and thought it was tacky...) But then yesterday, she emailed a THREE PAGE LIST of what she wants people to sign up for food to bring. (I couldn't make this up if I wanted to...) And this is for over 120 guests. I did some quick math, and she spent over $4K on her dress and ring, alone. She drives a Lexus and comes from some big $$$. I don't get it... And we're supposed to now cater the event? Idon'tthinkso... Anyone else suffered or getting ready to suffer some weddings this summer?

I met my current husband via Waydale. We're going on our 7th year of marriage and have two sons now... There was no dating forum there. Singles had no problems finding each other... There have been pleanty of hookups, marriages, etc. via GSC. I guess my only concern would be that it would be one more thing for the Moderators to moderate... I wonder how they feel about it...

Why would there be genetic memory or consciousness if the genetic material from a previous life was rotted away????

I had a deadline to hit for a client tonight and didn't get to watch... Hubby was crowing about seeing Joe Perry playing - I was suprised he was there at it - but man... I wish I'd seen it! I'm sure it will be on YouTube or something in a few days... Jordin was a sure winner - but not my favorite. It will be interesting to see where they're at a few years from now...
