  1. Actually, I've been really good... I hate hangovers with a passion. BUT... I have a good friend who showed some, let's say, "adult-beverage indiscretion" last night. After all, it's Motorcycle Week here and summer has begun - party on, dudes and dudettes... I know there's lots of remedies - home remedies - what do you do or what do you recommend?
  2. We just discovered those pre-cooked baby back ribs that come packaged in sauce - the Chili's brand are very good. Yeah, it's sorta "Grilling for Dummies" but dang... they're good with some beer and bakers. :-)
  3. Hunnie - I didn't take it that way at all. No need for an apology. I was just posting my POV about your participation, as I've seen so far and hope you can make it, when you can... I wish I could make it more often but as you know, with little kids, there's seldom time for yourself. (Nap time rocks!)
  4. ROTFLMAO... "Fluffy, please meow in tongues and interpret...."
  5. I was thinking about this the other day... Because LCM introduced the flip-side of this... teachings had to be written out, verbatum, and passed in to the HFC to review and correct before you were allowed to teach. I remember being told it was to make sure we had our teaching so it reflected the 'present truth' or some such drivel.... <_<
  6. And I posted some input for you, if you go back and read my first post to you... and some links - like you said, there isn't much there. good grief - wtf did I do wrong now? You bring up a thread about a book that isn't often discussed around here - asking for a critical examiniation - something that would be written by a theologian, most likely, and then you verbally female-dog slap people who respond about it... what do you want? The responses aren't as smart-a$$'d as you're making them out to be - maybe it's not exactly what you're looking for BUT... they aren't that off. Do you need a beer or something to lighten up? I'll gladly buy...
  7. CK - Why wouldn't you want to participate even tho people may have different POVs? We most certainly (speaking for all posters here at GSC) agree on all points but yet we (sorta) get along well in the process. The diversity is refreshing and I enjoy a good debate/discussion - I can always learn something new from someone or I'm glad to share something new with someone else... I think both the forums and the radio are good avenues for connecting with people and hope you reconsider your future participation. I have enjoyed you on both levels :-)
  8. You are too quick to post sometimes. I was editing to add some links and additional insight for you when you posted your testy reply. I perceive you are rather hostile to deal with and really wonder why you return since you seem so "above" the people who reply on your threads. You are also very off in questioning my motives for being here. <_< If you wish to talk about doctorine, there is a forum for that - this is not it and you are in the wrong place if you're expecting that here.
  9. Question: What not procure a copy for yourself of eBay and make your own conclusions? (I am, of course, assuming you do not have a copy....) -OR- If you do have a copy, then what do you think of it? Maybe it's your calling (ahem) in life to write said critical examination of R&E.... Edited to add this: It is mentioned in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L._Craig_Martindale It is mentioned on Answers.com: http://www.answers.com/topic/l-craig-martindale There's more about it here - probably closer to what you're looking for: http://www.pfo.org/closeway.htm However, considering that TWI closed its bookstore to non-members, which obvously would limit the availability of the book, and considering no one who was an 'innie' could really write a critique - an honest one - and expect to remain an 'innie', I can safetly say that George's post and these details are probably the best explaination you will find for your lacking review of the book. I would be interested in one if you find it...
  10. Dunno if I can make it, as it's Fathers' Day and all... we have plans... BUT... What about an open mic night? Just a live chat and see where it goes.... Maybe we could list some topics we'd like to discuss and put them on the table... What say you?

    BAD NEWS

(((MO))) praying with you and for you....
  12. That's because it's right under your Rex Smith album, isn't it?
  13. Powerful post, AJern! Welcome to the Cafe!
  14. Exie's right - that wasn't nice at all... Why don't you both stop tag-teaming on Rascal? Honestly... You know exactly what I'm talking about. This isn't the only thread where you've both done it. Rascal's statement isn't out of line - nor is her response to Johniam, if you read it. Your response, Jeaniam, is a personal attack - the lowest form of logic one can use in a debate. I would have thought better of you than that. Do you really want to come across as being a Pharasee? Especially after all we've all been though with legalism? Geez... lighten up already - we all need a break.... And Rascal - I thought of Shrek immediately when I read your post - we'd just watched the first one this weekend. It's not as easy as saying GET OVER IT - yet, we sorta do the more we hang around here, don't we? I don't see the same posters here in this forum who were were two or three or more years ago. That's because they've moved on or maybe there's other forums that interest them. In other words, I do understand Johniam's point, but perhaps he could have communicated it a little better, eh? My observation - after 7 years of Waydale and Greasespot - people first frequent the "About the Way" forum a lot. They vent, rant, gripe, and most of all, decompress. They get into Friend Finder and some of the other threads that connect us all in different ways. But eventually, they seem to find their way to the Guitar Thread (just kidding) - seriously - they find their way to the other threads - perhaps it's music or movies or politics that tickle their fancy... There's something here for everyone now and such a diverse group. This is a rare forum - with little real drama in it. In short, it's a great place just to connect to REAL people. TWI is the common denominator but it's not the glue that keeps this place together. The glue is the sense of community or camaradrie this place can offer. It's not like other forums.... I post on about seven other forums - this is, by far, the most interesting, best moderated, and most diverse. We've got it good here - and I think we know it.... :)
  15. Good question... I think that one came to me via a forwarded email.
  16. Enjoy! THE WORST ALBUM COVERS OF ALL TIME
  17. History: We seem to have an unusual amount of pine tree pollen in the air this summer and everything is coated in yellow to the point where I have to wash my windshield before I can back out of the driveway. There's been lots of discussion about the pollen this week. Comment: Tonight, coming home from the store, we drove past a dead skunk. It had a good stink going on. Kristopher commented, "Mommy, that wasn't pollen on your car today - it was skunk smoke!" I told him that skunks don't smoke; they stink. We went back and forth on with a few rounds of "yes they do" "no they don't" when it dawned on me... In cartoons, skunks are always drawn with those wavy lines behind their butts to show their stink. I explained this to Kristopher and said that was why he thought the skunks "smoked".... He thought about this for a moment and then said... "Why the lines?" I explained it was to show that the skunk had stink on television... "Oh, it's not SMELL-o-vision!" he concluded.
  18. I have some really good friends who follow CG and have been since the 80's... They have NEVER seen him - even when he lived in the same state.... I've never said anything to them about it - I respect them and love them, but that's just WEIRD.
  19. NOW YOU'VE DONE IT! the link now is for kidnet.... I guess that's who probably appreciates the big breasts first... but as a food source...

  21. I remember getting 'em at HQ - it was supposedly one of VPW's favorite dishes - Brats, sauerkraut, rice pudding, and ...... i forget whatelse.... but it was one of the better dinners...
  22. 2 branches in a tree are called a "crotch"....
  23. YES! I've seen them several times - I'm a special effects junkie. I get more out of the DVD's that come packaged with the movies than the movies themselves. For example, I have been BEGGIN' for the collectors' box set of LOTR for a couple of years now. I WANT all the special festures that come with it and think the WETA special effects studio is da' bomb. Ditto for the Star Wars special effects - only those were more "old school" but it's still ART. I would love love love to get into that line of work somehow... that or animation.... working for Pixar would be my other dream, but I digress... Sounds great to me - I'd love something like that!
  24. cman - the new imac can run os x, windows, AND linux - I'm tweaking mine to try linux next just to see what all the fuss is about...
