The "joe believer" had their minds controlled and "knew" if they did not due what leadership told them to do they were letting their lives open to devil spirits. Tonto, There is no rhyme or reason for them to "off" (reprove). You could be doing everything right and they can twist it any way they wanted. Once I relized that my interm year I left. It only took my first year in res. of all the yelling and screaming over piddley crap that I figured out I was in a no win situation for God. I don't remember turning off my mind. If I did I may have stayed longer :( . I just got fed up with the BS because I really do think I did not shut off my mind and as being in the ministry for a short time I could see the bill of goods that they sold us as newbies was not what they meant at all. It was a ton of deception at the begining to get us hooked and then have us jump through hoops and of course they wanted us to jump and not ask how high.

Ahh yes those teachings that we just blindly followed. There was a post that was posted a week or so ago. It went something like this. Paraphrased "The truth will always resurface". That is how we can seperate truth from false. Also IMO it is also being practical. Does it make sense in a logical way of thinking. There were many things in twi that did not make a lot of sense to me but I thought I would "grow" into understanding them as I grew "in the Word". Now I can see I did not understand those things because they were total BS and there we have to give it TIME to prove or disprove its' self if we don't see it right away. I think the bible is of God and I do believe God does show his will for us.

Hi Janny, Your post struck a nerve to me. That is exactly what I thought when I first ran into anti twi web sites (just get over it people). I was asked to go look at different parts of the web site and take it for what is was worth. I left in 1986 and I found my first anti twi website in 1999 it was called Way Dale. I thought twi was still an okay organization when I left in 86. I read Way Dale and had to decide what was right and whether I wanted to believe it. There were to many storys that were so alike that I had to summerise a lot of the ex wayfers were telling the truth. I read about rapes and spiritual abuse among other things. Some here (me included) "pick apart" twi and their leaders. Why? It is because of how Godly they appeared to be and told us they were. From the very start you will read where twi was not very Godly. In fact very evil at the top. Now as happens the "joe believer" were some of the best and smartest and most could not love God more. Had most of us had known how evil twi was most of us would never join such a rotten place. I want people to know how bad twi is and why and want people that are still innies to know it is ok to leave and they wont be devil possesed and have an awful life. Yes Janny, there is the truth of the Word of God outside twi with people that believe it and practice it. Read around Grease Spot Cafe and make your mind up and maybe you will see we want people out of that place and not to join that place.

Just remember the clock keeps ticking thru the commercials. He has time to whiz. Who has time to eat or sleep when he is going through that. I would sort of feel cheated if I had to watch him sit and eat liver sandwhich. :blink:

royal-gorge, I hope I did not give the wrong impression. Let me expound a little. Your videos at the rock, hq, fountain and the others just remind me of how I felt when I was there and how everything was going on with the stupid smiles on their faces making me think how twi was such a Godly place. Knowing what I know now and how the perfect the grounds look and how positive people talked and just to know what was really going on just puts a pit in my stomach. In no way am I suggesting that you don't post the videos. I think it is a very good idea to put them on here.

I know there are quite a few of the members here read WayDale and GSC or other web sites and that was one of the reasons that helped you leave twi. I was just curious if it was one certain thing that you read that helped you make up your mind. Were you looking or thinking about leaving before you read any of these sights or did you just happen to read them and it started to tweak your mind about twi? I was gone from twi long before the internet. So have at it.
