Greg...uh rather than look for reasons to attack me personally, how about answering my questions about why your definition and premiss does not match up with the actions and teachings of Jesus Christ? Does it matter? Word wolf, Thank you. Todd, there were a lot of great points made to counter a potentially dangerous flawed definition. Rather than view it as a personal attack or a blanket accusation of blame how simply discussing the pertinent information in order for everyone to learn and grow just a little bit in our understanding ok?

Um...correct me if I am wrong...but didn`t the spirit of God decend upon Jesus like a dove when john baptised him? I guess that negates your goofey rebuttle that it was ok for Jesus to not operate *charity* as per Greg`s definition because he was *of the flesh* which is what the people in the sentance that you pulled OUT OF CONTEXT was referring to. ...... ie old testiment believers were held to a different set of standards than those who are of the *spirit* available with jesus Christs resurrection.

If Jesus Christ himself didn`t live Greg`s definition of *charity* my point was that MAYBE Greg ought to quit making up definitions that are not backed up scripturally...ok? His definition is GREAT however for lulling people to sleep spiritually, ignoring dangerous behavior of the *flesh* ... evaluating who we identify as our borthers and sisters....... His definition also eliminates the need for vigillance against wolves in sheeps clothing and false prophets. That is his privilege, but entirely at odds with the instructions and examples given us inthe scriptures....not to mention VERY dangerous to us physically.

Doctrinal flavor? Hmmm Felt more like an admonitory finger being shook in our faces rather than any desire for discussion....shrug

Hmmmm I guess that poor Jesus wouldn`t have mastered the TRUE definition* of charity either :( He sure sounded like he thought evil of the folks that hurt God`s people .....or maybe calling people pretty coffins on the outside but filled with putrid death and decay on the inside...is a nice way of *renewing ones mind* shrug. Good points WhyI don`tgo.... I think that forgivness without repentance is really detrimental to the one who has offended. If someone is repeatedly forgiven without genuine repentance...they fail to suffer the consequences of their actions, many times they fail to see the need for change...they go through life not growing....kind of like some of the leaders saw in twi......wounding person after person....never experienceing true love of God....

What about Jim Jones? He was a very charismatic minister. According to former followers....Those women that belonged to Koresche generally were the daughters of followers who began their *service to Jesus* or statuatory rape experienced at about age 12. I dunno, with my friend it was *unfinished business*. The beings at her meeting apparently don`t magically heal your body, because she still had the cancer when she awoke in the morgue, but they gave her a diet, a list of things that would make her strong enough to over come the cancer.... She was a staunch Christian her entire life. She knew a stunning amount about herbs and vitamins. Much of what she shared with me at the time though was unacceptible because I was still so way brained that I couldn`t accept anything outside of the doctrinal realm of pfal. Some of the things she taught me...only made complete sense years after she was gone and I had grown in other areas to the point that I could understand.

I don`t know Allan, could there be scriptural reference and we just don`t recognise them because we were taught that when you are dead your dead? The book I was referring to was called *90 miniutes in heaven* I found my copy at walmart (do they have those in australia?)

I don`t know if you really wanted an answere or not allan, I knew a woman once who died. Her account of being discovered alive hours later in the morgue was backed up by many people. Anyway, if you care....after her meeting with *the board* she was returned. I don`t believe that it was a hallucination because after it had been determined that she was to return....she was given an diet and herbs that would (and did) cure the cancer that had killed her. The ingredients are becoming well known today for their anti oxident capabilities but were unknown at the time. I read a pretty neat book recently a true story about a minister that died in a car wreck ... he was prayed for by another minister 90 miniutes later at the scene while they were waiting for the mortuary vehicle. (That much is documented) The story is about his 90 miniutes in heaven and how it impacted his life when he came back. It is written by Don Piper if you are interested. Probably will be difficult because the information in the book and my friends experience are at odds with your understanding. Just my two cents worth, on the chance that you were genuinely interested.

GOD`S response is very clear in Galatians... why not check that out rather than trying to misuse Jesus` instructions concerning an entirely different scenario to validate your preconcieved motions... Get honest and address what God tells us is the responsibilty for men of the spirit verses Jesus` handeling of people before the new birth was available....instead of attacking me personally because you don`t like me pointing out what Galatians says.

Great points twinky, especially about sorting out our thinking processes now that we are out... Every day is a challenge to figure out whether what I am doing is a result of healthy thinking, or learned behavior in twi. It gets easier over time, as I find and build upon that *core self* that you mentioned.

Ala, I did/endured/turned a blind eye to some pretty horrible things because *GOD required this of us* I was made to do things that no one under any circumstances could have ever made me do with physical threats...because of the threat of losing God`s love and blessing :( Your words put things into pictures that can be grasped.....the submission to brutality inflicted, the aftermath of cruel abuse, and eventual casting aside once usefullness was exhausted. Something was broken, but not irrevocably so.... Dear ala...it HAS to get better
